Brenda is amazing! She was our primary daytime support doula when I was postpartum with my second baby. Our girls are 17 months apart and I needed a lot of help caring for them both while freshly postpartum and recovering from a traumatic C-section. Brenda stepped in and was truly the greatest help I could have ever asked for. Having her there was like having a family member who also cooked, cleaned, and helped me learn how to take care of my newborn and myself during a challenging time! She always came in with a plan for the day, helped tackle messes, laundry, cleaning up behind our toddler as well as making sure I was fed, and hydrated before I even realized I needed it! She was truly always on the lookout for anything to be done and did it without me ever asking which was so lovely because I hated "asking" for help. She is a baby whisperer!! Our toddler also fell in love with her as well. She still talks about her to this day.  I wish we had found her for my births, but if I ever have a third I will be asking for her help again!

We hired Brenda at the last minute to help us when we first brought our newborn home from the hospital. Between feeding challenges and temperature regulation issues, we were having a hard time getting him the nutrition he needed which put us into a spiral of panic (on top of sleep deprivation). Having Brenda with us to help troubleshoot nursing as well as watch our son while we napped made a world of difference and helped us get over the first major hump of our parenthood journey. I don't know what we would have done without her help.

Hiring Brenda was the best decision my husband and I made during our pregnancy. From our very first interview with her, Brenda was friendly and warm, knowledgeable, and so organized that she made my type-A heart skip a beat! We chose to not only hire Brenda as our birth doula, but we also chose to take her 5-part Lamaze Healthy Birth Class series. Even though they were virtual in this era of Covid, the classes were so helpful and informative. We never felt that we were missing out by having virtual classes instead of in-person: Brenda used videos, props, models, slides, and her own amazing stories to keep us informed and entertained. She took the time to answer our myriad questions and was always available by phone or via text throughout the pregnancy. When I was trying to utilize at-home techniques to turn our breech baby, Brenda brought us supplies to help and walked us through many positions and techniques to try. When I ended up having an ECV in the hospital to turn our still-breech baby, Brenda came and helped us through the process, both physically and emotionally. During the labor and birth, Brenda supported us with physical techniques from our birthing classes, gave us much-needed advice and wisdom when we had to make tough decisions, watched over me so my husband could get some much-needed sleep, and emotionally supported us throughout the entire ordeal. When I ended up needing a c-section, Brenda emotionally supported my distraught husband until he could come into surgery with me. I don’t know what he would have done without her! After our daughter was born, Brenda came to our house for a post-partum visit and helped with breastfeeding techniques. Brenda is FABULOUS. She is like the fairy godmother that you always wanted—she appears and makes everything better. Brenda is so caring and loving, she now feels like part of our family. If you only do one thing during your pregnancy, HIRE HER!!!

Brenda was fantastic! She was my post-partum doula for my second child since my mom wasn’t able to come into town to help this time around, and Brenda really is like a second mom! There were so many little tricks that I learned from just observing her with the baby. She was also very attentive to my needs and helped tidy things up (even without me asking), so I wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed with everything that needed to be done around the house. My toddler was also obsessed with her! In fact, he just brought her up the other day. Brenda is the best, and you’d be lucky to have her! She can help with EVERYTHING from breastfeeding and newborn sleeping to bonding, rest and recovery. Just make sure to schedule her far in advance because she does book up. We had a couple of sessions left by the time my son was three months, but felt like we didn’t need them since we had mastered the swing of it with two kids. So if you really need the help early on, book as far in advance as possible. Thank you, Brenda!

We reached out to Brenda a few months before our daughter's birth. It was one of the wisest decisions we made in preparing for postpartum. Though we hired her as our postpartum doula, she gave me tips during my pregnancy and for preparing to bring our child home. I regret not hiring her for a birth doula as well! We had her over for 12 3-hour visits during the first 10 weeks. She always asked for a wish list in advance and made sure it got fulfilled. She helped me with breastfeeding, baby care, body recovery, and understanding how to better care for myself! She helped my partner bond with our daughter by showing him how to “wear” our baby in a sling so he could take her on walks. I have thought breastfeeding could have been challenging but Brenda made me feel it is so easy! We have had trouble getting our baby to bottle feed, but Brenda worked on that each time she came over, trying various methods and working through her fits. She has so many ideas and useful tricks to calm the baby. She answered tons of questions about baby care. In addition, she also introduced a lot of learning materials for us to read, which I liked the most because it helps us become successful parents going forward. Brenda is so professional and experienced. Her warm and playful personality put us at ease with the new world of parenting. We highly recommend her!

Highly recommend for both expecting mommies and daddies. Brenda is fun, kind and patient and will keep you engaged and learning throughout the whole session. Brenda makes sure to utilize every single second to help educate us and enhance our awareness of baby birthing process, from during pregnancy to postpartum. My wife kept it a secret she was a nicu nurse and still found every single session beneficial. It also helped me be aware of my wife needs throughout the process and actions I should take during her labor which was extremely helpful!! We couldn't control our baby coming 5 weeks early but we were so prepared and this is thanks to Brenda. Our baby is now 1 month old and doing great!  Mommy DO bring your supportive partner along for sessions!

We got to meet Brenda through the online Lamaze trio class in preparation for our firstborn! I found Brenda's website amidst countless other Doula/Lamaze websites and truly believe her practice and services have the best to offer. Brenda was personable, kind, informative, trustworthy, and talked to you like you've known her for years. She put the knowledge in our hands and really wanted us to succeed! Her evidence based practice MAKES SENSE and has made us even more excited for the birth process! If we lived in Oregon we would have hired her as our Doula for the labor process. But nonetheless she equipped us to feel prepared with my husband as labor coach. We are eagerly anticipating our daughter's arrival in just a few short weeks! If you want to develop a healthy, unifying, and fear-free birth philosophy, check out Portland Professional Doulas!

Brenda was extremely helpful with my lactation journey. We booked her for an in-home session as well as shorter virtual sessions. She was supportive of all my choices and we just love her energy! She's a wealth of information, so you can't go wrong with hiring her.

We used Brenda as our doula for our first baby. She taught our hospital classes and we just instantly liked her. My husband who was very skeptical about using a doula was sold when he met her. Besides her 30 + years of experience. She has a calming presence that and will give you confidence that you can do this. She walked with us through the entire process leading up to the birth each week. I ended up having a challenging labor that would have been a lot more scary for us if we didn't have her by my side guiding us. As my husband says she was the best money we spent this entire process. Her postpartum visit literally saved our sanity and sleep as we were following some bad advice from a lactation consultant. After following Brenda's advice our baby started sleeping 5 hours straight at night, and gaining weight properly. I'm forever indebted to her for being such an incredible resource and guide through this journey to becoming a mother. If you are fortunate to get the oppurtunity to have Brenda as your doula consider youself the luckiest woman! I hands down recommend her, her online tutorials, and post partum care.
