I cannot sing Amy's praises enough!! I cannot imagine my birth experience without her and I wouldn't want to. Amy is experienced, knowledgeable and resourceful - and her character is empathetic, sincere, patient and kind. I was anxious about having our first baby and Amy provided consistent and insightful support and was always available to answer my many questions. She also provided invaluable emotional, mental and physical support to my partner during our long labour. I am so grateful Amy was a part of our birth story!!

Amy is the most wonderful and warm person and doula! From our first prenatal meeting we felt so comfortable it was almost like we were just having a tea with a good friend. She entertained all of my toddler’s questions and stories with thoughtfulness and interest and he spoke about her long after she left our home. Amy listened to our desires and fears and made us feel so seen and heard and understood. Our birth was very quick but Amy made all the time she was with us count, providing compassionate labour support and making sure I was well fed and cared for following the birth. She was also able to take some really memorable photos of the birth that we are so grateful to have. Amy has a wonderful way of encouraging and validating when you need it the most in early postpartum - her kind words will stay with me forever! Needless to say, we were sad to say goodbye and would recommend Amy a million times over!

Amy is the most wonderful Doula. Her guidance, expertise, knowledge and personality were exactly what we were hoping for and needed. Right from the start, we knew she would be a perfect balance for my husband's more analytical brain and need for scientific, fact based-research and my more creative brain and need for long discussions of how I was feeling, the process of birth, motherhood and detailed planning and follow-up. We felt so supported and encouraged, that we went into our induced labour with her by our side feeling prepared and excited. During the labour, Amy helped me shift my focus to feel more calm and grounded and helped me physically with supported postures, a foot massage and pressure point acupuncture. For my husband, her prescence and expertise made him so much more at ease and calm and simplified the process, allowing him to be more present and engaged with me during birth.

Our extra hours we had bought for post-partum were very beneficial in helping us decide on the best feeding path forward, and afforded us an easier transition into parenthood with Amy answering all of our many questions and providing invaluable suggestions.

Amy made us feel like we were her only family to care for that month, when in fact, she was dealing with late and early births, creating a very busy month for her. It goes to show how involved and caring she is with each family.

You can tell how much Amy loves people and the parents she guides along the way, and of course the babies. We would highly recommend Amy as your birth or post-partum doula. You would be in such wonderful, capable and caring hands.

Amy was our overnight doula for two months who helped care for our 8 week old son.  She brought a great energy into our home and was always professional and reliable.  My fiance and I were able to get restful sleeps knowing that Amy was in our home caring for our newborn.  As we are first time parents, Amy also showed to be a great resource giving informtion and answering the many questions we had. We would highly recommend her to anyone and will definatly be using her in the future as we expand our family down the road.

We were very happy with the virtual experience with Amy, she was attentive, provided us with a ton of information and was able to demonstrate exercises and ensure that we were doing it properly.

We are feeling prepared, confident and excited approaching our due date. We highly recommend Amy even if at this time she cannot be there in person, she has provided so much support to us.

Soon after we learned we were having a baby, we knew we would want to have the support of a Doula. We first met Amy for a get-to-know-you coffee towards the end of the 1st trimester. From the first impression it was clear that she exuded a knowledgable warmth and love for what she does. We exchanged questions about the services she provides, what kind of support we thought we would be wanting, and got to know each other a little better. Amy made us feel comfortable about the birth process and we knew wanted her on our team throughout the journey - she did an outstanding job at helping us determine how she could best support us, and from there it was an easy decision to select her as our Doula.

Throughout the course of the pregnancy she was always available to take our questions. And as we learned more about the labour process and all that it entails, we felt reassured knowing that we would have Amy in our corner when the time came.

Our prenatal visits were very education and Amy did a great job of helping Dad realize how he can best support Mom, and helping Mom accept that she had a great team behind her that would support her through the delivery.

Our baby was a finicky little guy and required a last-minute cesarian. Amy was able to meet us at the hospital on very short notice and was with us until baby and mom were resting soundly in postpartum (plus she took some really excellent first-look photos!). Due to Covid-19 and not having an extended labour, Amy offered to further support us with a few facetime sessions postpartum to allow us to ask some new parent questions and get a much-appreciated second opinion. We are very greatful for her support throughout this journey and highly encourage anyone looking for a passionate, supportive, and involved Doula to give Amy a call. You will not regret it!

We cannot speak more highly of Amy, she truly went above and beyond our expectations of doula services! She has a warmness and calmness that instantly put us at ease and made us connect with her quickly - it was an easy decision to choose her to be our doula. She was always accessible and responsive and she was very knowledgable on labour and birth, providing us resources to help with our preparedness. Further, she listened and provided unbias guidance on our journey, which we appreciated. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.

Amy was a great support! She was knowledgeable and helped me with things I didn't know I needed help with. Amy is calm and was easily able to sooth my babies (as well as myself at times!). I would highly recommend her no matter what stage you're at postpartum!

Following the birth of our son my husband and I found ourselves needing to reach out for help and support with his care, specifically overnight, as my medical condition post labour was not ideal for quite some time. We wanted to find someone who was knowledgeable, an expert with babies who we could trust and depend on, and who we felt would have our sons best interest at heart.  Amy was  approachable, kind and very easy to work with from the very beginning. She is flexible, honest, and works with what you and your family need. It has been a blessing and Godsend for us to have Amy in our lives and it very much feels like she is now a part of our family. Her gentle way and kindness is exactly what we needed and because of her we were able to sleep better and focus on the healing we both needed while she provided excellent care for our son. I can not recommend enough Amy’s doula support which not only provided for our son but also extended to us both. Her emotional guidance, advice, expertise and calm presence has been a pillar of the most important time of our lives. We truly appreciate Amy and would recommend her and doula support in a heart beat. It’s the best decision we made so far in this journey of parenthood. Thank you Amy for all that you have done, we will never forget it.

Before my wife and I met Amy I had no idea about the role of a doula and now I cannot imagine the birth experience without her help. Amy met us at our house a few times before the birth and guided us through developing a birth plan and managing expectations. She was wonderful working with my wife but I will always appreciate that she spent time with me to share tips and exercises so I could help my wife manage her discomfort. Amy was available 24/7 to discuss any concerns we had, which happened after the induction at 1 AM when my wife and I were both so tired and just needed someone to calm our concerns. She was a comfort to Jill during the birth experience and served as an advocate to ensure Jill’s voice was heard by the hospital staff. Amy met with us again at our house after our baby was born – I remember it was a terrible snowstorm that evening but it did not stop her – and shared tips like how to soothe a fussy baby and how to tie a baby sling. I cannot give Amy a stronger recommendation. Thank you from Ben, Jill and Andy!

The first time I met Amy I knew she was the support we needed. I was so confident that we didn’t meet with anyone else. Her insight and presence throughout our planning and birthing experience were invaluable to us and I will be forever grateful to her. I simply can not imagine the birthing of my son without her. Her calm, cool demeanour and caring nature were exactly what I needed to get me through.

When the special day arrived Amy provided excellent support not only for me but my support people as well! Everything went so much smoother than I ever thought it could! (It’s true what they say about the second time being easier!) I would suggest Amy for anybody’s birth plan. I had a home birth but I can imagine her to be very adaptable to any and every situation. Every birth is so different and no matter what bumps come along Amy provides excellent support!

38 weeks into my second pregnancy I had no doula and no idea what to do. I was feeling nervous, unprepared and unsure if a doula was necessary or not! My friend gave me Amy’s info and I contacted her. I figured I’d meet her and if it didn’t feel right I’d just not have a doula again. When I met Amy she immediately made me feel safe and listened to my concerns. She even helped me to see things I hadn’t even acknowledged about my first birth. I felt I could trust her to be the kind of support I was looking for!

Even though I was so far along in my pregnancy she didn’t hesitate to meet with my husband and I and provide both of us with helpful tools and tips so we could be preparing my body for labour. I could only imagine how much more I would have benefitted if I had connected with her sooner! She is able to be involved as much or as little as you want! She takes the time to listen and asks questions so she’s prepared for your birth!

I met Amy after I was given the advice by my midwife to look for a doula. Since my husband was going to be out of town during the birth, and my mother would be watching the kids, they thought having one would give me extra support in my labor experience.

Am I ever glad I listened! From the moment I met with Amy, I felt completely comfortable. She is a very sincere, kind, and genuine person.

When it came time for the baby to come, Amy came over to my house as soon as I felt I needed someone there, even though it was 4 in the morning and my contractions were still not regular. She is very knowledgable and helped me with some techniques to spin the baby into position. She was always patient and good natured, even when I lost my good humor at times!

Having a doula was a great experience, I only wish I had had one for the births of my other children! I would definately recomend Amy to anyone looking for an intelligent, caring and able doula.

I will admit that I had no idea what a doula was prior to having Amy join us for guidance and support as we prepared to welcome our first child. My wife mentioned that she would like a doula and we signed up for an event where you could meet many different doulas in one day - one of those that we met at this event was Amy.  Amy brought a sense of warmth/comfort, knowledge and candor when we first met her.  We are people that thrive on information and Amy was able to provide background and context to our questions.  We wanted to make sure that we also felt at ease inviting a person we barely knew into our home and personal life - there was never any hesitation in asking Amy to join us on our journey.

How you expect the birth to go and how it actually goes do not alway line up - we found this out the hard way.  A month before the due date high blood pressure readings took us to the hospital for what we though would be a quick 1 - 2 hour check up for my wife and our baby.  It turned out that we were in a more serious situation than we expected.  Over the next 24 hours things progressed rapidly.  We called on Amy to join us and she was there almost instantaneously.  She stayed with us through all of the difficult decisions we needed to make and provided a great deal of emotional support to my wife and myself.  I was happy to have Amy there with us through this difficult time.

I would enthusiastically recommend Amy to anyone looking for a doula.

Amy came to help our family a few weeks after my second child was born. Not only was she amazing helping me with my newborn baby, but also fantastic with my 3 year old. With no family nearby and feeling overwhelmed, I decided that I needed some extra guidance and assistance with the transition and I could not have asked for a better person to be around in the post partum period. From the moment Amy walked in the door she brought a sense of calm and she is so patient, friendly and easy to talk to. I would absolutely recommend Amy to anyone considering a post partum doula.

Amy has been such a wonderful presence in our home after we had our son.  At a time when I was physically and emotionally exhausted,  she graciously helped in many ways to make our lives easier in those first few challenging months postpartum. I felt completely comfortable with her from the first day we met and fully trusted her with my son while I caught up on sleep, exercised or just did a few things for myself that I'm not able to do with a baby.  She also helped around the house with laundry, sterilized pumping equipment, etc. Not only that,  but it was really great company having her around while my husband was at work and no family in town. She also taught me some great tips for using a baby carrier, sleeping and breastfeeding. I would without a doubt have Amy help out again if we had another baby. She's fantastic!!

Amy was incredibly insightful and supportive in both the prenatal meetings and for the whole labour and delivery. Thanks to Amy's calming, maternal demeanor and her practical suggestions I was able to have the natural, unmedicated birth that I was hoping for. It was such an amazing and empowering experience and I couldn't have done it without her. She stayed by my side and kept me informed the whole time, and she was always looking for ways to make me more comfortable. Even in the chaos of the delivery room she was able to capture some beautiful photos of my daughter and I. Amy truly exceeded my expectations. I will always be grateful to have had Amy by my side and I believe any woman would be lucky to have her support.

“Amy was superb. She played a dynamic role in helping us navigate not only the birthing process, but the advice provided to us by the medical staff. It was very useful to have someone else there to ensure we knew our options. Thanks for the very tender and compassionate support you provided us. We both greatly appreciate you as a person and a Doula!”

As first time parents with no other family in Calgary, we decided to hire a postpartum Doula to help with our two-month-old son. We had such a positive experience with Amy! She has an easy-going nature and quickly integrated into our home. She is an excellent communicator and was able to elicit our needs. She's also efficient and took excellent care of us and our baby. We highly recommend her services.
