Selecing Amy Kucharski as my doula for my first pregnancy and birth was one of the most important, best decisions I made. Amy's calm, cool, and positive personality was so comforting throughout my journey as a first time mom. I loved her sense of humor and we got along super well. Most importantly, I attribute my ability to achieve the natural, unmedicated birth I aspired for in large part to her unwavering support, expertise in natural pain management, and encouragement throughout my labor. The value of Amy's ability to work swifty, efficently, and behind the scenes when needed to provide the utmost care for me and my husband cannot be measured. She seamlessly intergrated herself during the labor process to provide such needed relief during periods of intensity, using methods I or my husband wouldn't have thought of in 100 years. She applied different tactics using hot water, counter pressure, essential oils, light touch, belly lifting, and more to help me manage the intensity of the contractions and successfully make it to the finish line. Her voice and tone was incredibly calming, reminding me to breathe and center my focus when I lost control at times during a high peak of intense pressure. And as already mentioned, she knew my sense of humor and brought in elements of that where appropriate. Not only did she support me fully but also coached and guided my husband to be the best partner he could be as a first time dad on this wild ride.

Throughout our client/doula relationship, Amy was so fast to respond to texts, calls, or emails for questions or guidance when requested. She made it a point to get to know me personally, going for lunch a few times and checking in throughout my pregnancy. Post-birth, she stayed near for a few hours - making me my first meal, helping to load the car, and just being there for emotional support if need be.

100/10 recommend her as a doula. THANK YOU, AMY!

Since I moved to a new city on my final month I was so frustrated and didn't know what to do, ever since I met Amy it felt like she was a family/best friend, she was the only one I had at the hospital with me and felt loved and comfortable.

I can’t say enough positive things about having Amy being a part of my experience. I can’t imagine doing it without her She was an amazing support and made a labor that was really difficult a manageable and a positive experience, my overall experience with Amy was excellent – she’s empathetic, caring, knowledgeable, patient, and experienced. Basically, she’s the embodiment of an ideal doula. I highly recommend her.

Amy was hands down the best doula i have ever known and I am so glad I had her for my birth of my last baby. She is so hands on, has so many tips and tricks, super knowledgeable and so caring! She was so great with my fiancé and teaching him how to be helpful and what he could do for me during my labor and delivery. She provides such a warm and calming environment which is so important during birth. If I was having another, I would definitely use her again! 10/10 highly recommend her!!!

I am so glad to have found Amy and that she was my doula for my 3rd child. I wanted a doula this time because I wanted to give birth on my terms and with my own support system and not be told what to do by the hospital staff based on their timeline.
Amy was the absolute best. She had the best advice during my pregnancy, she came over to my house several times to get to know more about me and my wants and needs. She provided education and tools and lots of suggestions on things to try.
And then when it came time to bring my baby into the world Amy was at the hospital with me and my husband as soon as I got there. She helped me in every stage of labor, she set up the room the way I wanted it with low lights and a diffuser. She helped me make decisions on my medical treatment, not provided advice whatsoever, but she reminded me that I have choices and that I can ask for a few minutes to make those choices, which was very empowering.
I even hired her after the baby was here to help us get some sleep. She came a few nights a week and took care of the baby in the middle of the night. That was such a life saver.
I cannot say enough good things about Amy. I wish she was around for my first 2 kids. She is so compassionate and I just felt completely at ease with her. I would highly highly recommend her to anyone and everyone.

The missing piece to my pregnancy plan I almost didn’t realize I needed!

I would highly recommend Amy as a doula for expecting mothers. My birth experience was probably an 8 out of 10 (10 being perfect), in large part due to Amy. I felt very connected to Amy immediately and she was very friendly, relatable, and easy to talk to.

We met a few times before my due date to go over all kinds of info from what I can be doing to prepare myself, both mentally and physically, to my options on the big day to helping me put together my birth plan. She was very informative with any questions I had and never pushy to do things one way or another. As a FTM, I couldn’t believe how much I didn’t know. She was there to guide me through it all!

As soon as my water broke (at 4 am) I texted Amy and she instantly calmed me down. I felt comfortable laboring from home for a few more hours. Amy arrived at the hospital shortly after we did and held my hand through everything (Not literally, although she would if you wanted her to!)

It was all in the details that Amy took care of and I didn’t even have to think about or do myself. For example, she was able to get me a different nurse when I wasn’t really feeling the first girl I had. Before I knew it, someone else was taking care of me and she was fantastic! Let me tell you, it REALLY made all the difference! During labor, Amy brought LED candles to avoid harsh hospital lighting, kept my birthing music playing, applied counter pressure (for hours! Poor Amy!) and most importantly offered a calming presence throughout my experience.  She knew the best positions to move me around into and when to suggest I move around or drink more.

Before I got pregnant, I didn’t even know what a doula was, but I am sure glad I found Amy! She definitely improved my overall birthing experience and I would use her again for a future birth in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

I hired Amy as a first time mom-to-be, because I felt like I needed extra support. Amy was very compassionate, helpful and patient during my pregnancy. She recommended "Hypnobabies" birthing class which I felt helped my husband and I tremendously leading up to, and during my labor and delivery. We planned to have the baby at home and Amy was very supportive. I went into labor in the middle of the night, and Amy was there throughout my labor. What I really want to stress though, is Amy's true compassion and caring. After I delivered my son, I began to hemorrhage due to a retained placenta. I was unconscious due to extreme blood loss and when I came to, I was being rushed to the emergency room for a blood transfusion and emergency D&C to remove my placenta. My baby was less than an hour old. What I didn't know at the time (but I know now), is that Amy drove with my husband and new baby to the hospital and sat with my baby and mom in my car while my husband went into the hospital to be with me. She stayed for hours, offering support to my family. At this point it was the middle of the night again. Amy checked on me after my release from the hospital and stopped over to see how I and the new baby were doing. Yes, her "job" was now over, but she kept checking in on us. Offering help, offering support, helping me to feel heard, letting me vent, offering food. Whatever I needed, she was there. To say she went above and beyond is an understatement. My husband ADORES her as well. She helped him (to help me) so much during my labor at home, and he was shocked at the level of care and compassion she showed our family after everything went astray that night. He needed support that night, he was traumatized by the thought of losing me and seeing so much blood. Amy was there for him. We are both forever grateful for Amy. If you're considering a doula, get one; it's a wonderful service. If you want a doula who is also an angel on earth, hire Amy.

Amy was my birth doula and my saving grace. As a first time mom I was completely unaware of the pregnancy and birth process. She taught me so much about life itself I'll never forget her. My family and I feel that Amy is an Earth Angel. I'll always remember the day she called me out on some poor choices I was making at the time. She reached me like no one ever had before and it literally changed my entire life for the better. My daughter had a healthy start to life thanks to the help I got from Amy and I can't recommend her enough!

Amy and I met one year ago at our DONA Birth Doula Training in Anna Maria Island. We instantly connected as friends and became birth colleagues shortly after our training was over. A few months ago, I asked Amy to provide on-call support for one of my birth clients while I went out of town for a few days. Although Amy never did attend the birth on my behalf, she Facetimed with my client to get to know her a bit, texted my client to check in with her everyday, and provided both me and my client peace of mind until I could return home. It was so reassuring knowing that Amy was available to be on-call in the event that my client went into labor when I was out of town.

On a personal level, Amy is kind, trustworthy, and intuitive. On a professional level, Amy is passionate, knowledgeable, and 100% reliable. I cannot say enough good things about this friend and colleague. You would be so lucky to work with Amy and have her support you during your birth.

I’m writing this on behalf of Amy, I was really nervous at first about my wife having a home birth along with a midwife. I had a lot of what if’s and what all is in tale along with how is just a midwife and me going to do all of this. My wife mentioned to me that she wanted to get a doula and when we were listening to the tracks I was thinking this won’t help but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’ve been through 3 hospital births with my other children and I can honestly say that a home birth by far was the best thing I’ve ever been through and that’s because of the help we had from Amy. She helped prep things, helped my wife get into her comfy mental state of mind along with keeping her comfortable during the pressure waves. We are planing on having another home birth and you can guarantee I’ll have Amy by my side.

Best regards,

I’m incredibly thankful Amy was sent to me. My first birth was traumatic and ended in a C section. If I had hired her for my first child, I truly believe my body could’ve handled a natural birth. I was very uneducated then and could’ve used Amy’s knowledge to help me out as a first time mom.

My second child, born September 5th 2019, was a VBAC mission. Amy was literally hands on for hours helping my body work that baby down. I was high risk this round with polyhydraminos and baby needed all the help he could get to work his way down to the birth canal. Amy had me in every position possible.

My VBAC mission turned out to be a TOLAC and ended in another csection. However, I’m super thankful to have had her by my side coaching me, and my husband, to get Dakotah here naturally.

You can not go wrong hiring Amy as your doula. She’s the most unbiased person I have ever met. Being a parent is hard. Birthing a child is hard. Making decisions during labor is hard. No matter what, Amy has your back.

Thank you Amy. If we had another child, you’d be the only doula I’d hire!

Amy it's one of the most kind and caring people I've met on this Earth. Her compassion to help people and encourage them is an amazing quality that she carries throughout her business. She will go the extra mile for anyone especially her clients. She make sure to keep herself available for those who need her in their time of pregnancy. We couldn't have asked for a better person to come into our lives in this season.

I highly recommend Amy! She was absolutely wonderful with our newborn and was always eager to help in any way she could. She was always available to answer any questions I had and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. When our daughter was sleeping, Amy would always help around the house and do anything she could to make motherhood a little easier on me. :) I would absolutely use Amy again!
