My experience with Tigist as a birth instructor and as my doula could not have been more pleasant and satisfactory. Not only is Tigist very knowledgeable in childbirth and prenatal care, she is very kind, sweet, and fully invested to her clients. It is apparent that she has a genuine interest and passion for the work she does. She is very professional and punctual and makes it clear when she is sharing facts vs. opinion on topics that arise in regards to childbirth and pregnancy. When it comes to answering my questions she was very patient and thorough. No question is too basic and she made all my questions feel welcomed. She always took all the time I needed in answering my questions and felt supported without feeling pressured or rushed by her. During  labor, her presence and support was invaluable. She stayed by my side the whole time from when I was admitted in the hospital until 3 hours after I gave birth. She never left my side and made me feel comfortable and was did everything she could to help me along with my labor.Even after I gave birth, Tigist has regularly checked in on our well-being and paid us a home visit when my daughter turned 19 days old. She has been so responsive everytime I call or text with a postpartum question. I am so grateful to have a resource, support person and friend like Tigist.

Finally, her reassurance, confidence, and positivity helped me stay calm and collected during pregnancy and also during labor. She helped me stay in the best mindset so that I may have the birth I wanted. And she was also realistic and helped me understand that even if my birth didn't go to plan, everything would still be alright and that it didn't mean that I wasn't adequate or lacking.

I have no doubt that anyone who solicits Tigist's services will be very pleased and satisfied.

Tigist was a great help to us in the birth of our third child last month. She came to our house for two prenatal visits during which we discussed our plans and expectations for labor and birth, as well as practiced coping techniques. We were most interested in learning about massage and how to use the rebozo and she showed us both – and helped us apply them during labor (although the baby came just as we were starting with the rebozo). She found and sent us information on questions that we asked during the prenatal visits. She also came to our house for a postpartum visit, brought food, massaged my back (sore from breastfeeding and carrying the baby around all the time), and debriefed the birth and how things were going since. She has a lot of experience with natural childbirth and was very knowledgeable and reassuring. She is soft-spoken and unassuming. We are thankful to have been able to have her with us for this birth.
