I have training in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and am listed as a postpartum doula through Pregnancy & Postpartum Support Minnesota's doula program. Website: https://ppsupportmn.org/doula-program/ I completed a 200 hour Ayurvedic Postpartum Caregiver course in 2021 at the Center for Sacred Window Studies. My areas of passion are postpartum preparation and preparing nourishing foods, teas, and herbal supports. I am honored to walk beside families as they transition to parenthood.
I want every new parent to be surrounded with the support they desire. If you are interested in my services, I offer a sliding scale. I can assist in creating a crowd funding link for you to request support services from family/friends if you already have the physical baby items you desire, or just wish to prioritize support.

Post a testimonial for Deb Gottfried Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula, CPD, CLEC

Deb was our post-partum doula and I can honestly say it was like an angel walked in our home for 2 weeks! She was so incredible intuitive and sensitive to our needs as a family. She made sure I had water everytime I was breastfeeding, played with my younger son, made some incredible meals and treats and allowed me to rest when I needed it. We took walks and processed the whole transition of motherhood. She carries a grace and a wealth of knowledge for anyone entering motherhood! 10/10 reccommend Deb!

We had our little babe at the beginning of COVID, so we could not rely on family and friends helping as we expected. Compounded by a complicated c-section and an older kid adjusting, it was hard to even be in survival mode. Deb was everything we needed and didn't even know we needed. So friendly and supportive, professional with advice but non judgemental, meeting us where we were at in our lives. She checked in with us at each shift for our preferences and how she could help. She learned our house and routine quickly, stepping in as needed without us asking. She balanced holding newborn in sling while cooking nourshing post-partum dinners, giving time for my husband to do house work and finally take time for a shower, making sure I had what I needed (I had limited mobility), and giving our older kid fun interactions if babe was sleeping. She brought such positive energy and never stopped, running up and down our stairs so many times each shift as she helped with so many things!

Deb was such a gift to me! After a difficult delivery, Deb was with me as I navigated a challenging postpartum period. Deb helped me gain confidence as a new Mom and helped me understand that I needed to prioritize my health, not just my newborn's. She checked in with my husband and cared for the health of the whole family as we adjusted to a new life as parents. Deb's kindness, gentle approach, and fierce advocacy for the health of the whole family was the difference between struggling and thriving. I have no idea how she does it but she makes everything feel doable! I strongly recommend Deb to every new parent!

When I first met Deb, I was absolutely drowning in the overwhelming thing that is the 4th trimester and first time motherhood. I describe those first four months as an unmitigated disaster. With some poor breastfeeding advice and a severe tongue tie that went undiagnosed for over 3 months, my baby was losing weight, fussy from swallowing so much air, and not sleeping because she couldn't eat much. That meant I was also not sleeping and hadn't slept for months.
I had recently been diagnosed with a post partum mood disorder before Deb's first visit. Deb took excellent care of my daughter while at the same time taking excellent care of me. Deb listened to me talk and talk and talk, understood what I was going through on a level that few did, and then took my hand and showed me how to successfully incorporate motherhood into my life. She showed me how to take walks outside with my baby, showed me how to make dinner while caring for my baby, showed me it was possible to design a life that was not completely overwhelming, but rather a nice peaceful pace. Slowly I began to feel less stressed. Slowly I began to finally bond with my daughter. It doesn't sound bad now, but at the time it was an absolute crisis. And Deb was the person who helped me through the worst. By the time our last day together came, I felt more confident in my ability to be a great Mom and my ability to be myself again - because of Deb. I will always and forever be grateful to you, Deb, for changing the course of my life when it was so incredibly hard.
