I would highly recommend Ellen if you are looking for a doula! Ellen's expertise and guidance were invaluable in ensuring a successful vaginal delivery for my wife. Her skillful adjustments to the baby's position played a crucial role, and we are immensely grateful for her support throughout the birthing process. In addition, Ellen played a pivotal role in making my wife mentally stronger throughout the birthing experience. Ellen's holistic approach to doula support truly made the entire journey more positive and empowering. We are incredibly thankful for her expertise and compassion. Highly recommend her services for both physical and emotional support during childbirth!

Ellen is an excellent doula! She was extremely helpful before the birth with exercises and stretching techniques, and during the birth. Our baby went over a week past the due date, and we ended up in labor on christmas eve. Ellen still was able to come to the hospital for the whole day to assit us with the labor. She was very helpful with both managing the pain, and helping us communicate with the doctors and nurses.
I highly reccomend Ellen and would use her again if we have another birth.

I wouldn't be able to achieve the unmedicated birth without Ellen's support. My OB warned me many times that I may need c-section because my baby was a big baby at the 97 percentile according to the ultrasound exam. Since I involved Ellen into my birth team 5-6 months before my expected due date, Ellen had proactively communicated with me and my husband on the exercise and practice we could do to prepare for the smooth labor.
My baby was born 10 days earlier than the expected due date in the early morning. Ellen arrived the hospital before midnight and accompanied us throughout the labor process and after the baby was born. She cheered me on, helped me change my positions for different labor stages, communicated with the nurses when they wanted to administer unnecessary medication (the nurses are great but sometimes there are different views), etc. With Ellen's help, I had a smooth labor and was able to enjoy the skin-to-skin time and breastfed my baby right after birth.

You won't regret Ellen as your birth Doula! She was an expert at all aspects of birth - pain management, labor positioning, and what to expect. She kept track of the whole labor process in detail which was helpful for the doctors, and specific positioning techniques was critical during push time. Definitely recommend!

Ellen is a very good doula. During my pregnancy and delivery, she gave me my most sincere greetings and exchanges. She made me feel so much motherly love throughout my pregnancy and delivery. So if the next two I still have a chance to meet Ellen. I still choose her very much. Because I trust her!

Ellen is super professional and supportive. One of the most important and right thing we did is having Ellen as our doula. This is our first baby and it is very challenge for us (new mom and new dad). During the pregnancy, Ellen pationally answer every questions we have and promptly share us instructions/documents to be prepared for the baby. In labor room, Ellen stayed with us the whole night, guide us the detailed instructions and provide essential emotional support, which is super critical for Mom and dad (we feel much confidence and less nervous when Ellen shows up in labor room). Without Ellen’s support, the whole deliver process won't never be so smooth. One more thing I would like to mention: the online language intepretor didn't do a good job and not able to translate our conversation timely or clearly. This situation made us feel depressed! When Ellen came with us she volunteered help us to do the translation (super clear and timely). Both doctors and us felt very thankful for her kindly help.
Again, really appreciated for Ellen's doula service. We highly recommend Ellen's doula service!!!!

Ellen was referred to me through a friend. I was so lucky to have Ellen as my doula prior and during my labor. I did not have a doula for my first baby and it ended up with C section after 30+ hours pain and 4 hours push. It was a horrible experience so I decided to hire a doula for my second baby since I wanted to try VBAC. It was the wisest decision I have ever made. I don't think I would achieve this goal without Ellen's help. She was both professional and extremely patient and caring. She taught me lots of postures for practice after week 34 and skills for my husband to practice to relieve my pain. Because of my tight pelvic bone, I pushed 3+ hours for my second labor without epidural. OB said natural birth might not be possible after one hour's push. I wanted to give up. However, Ellen and my labor nurse tried various strategies to help the baby move. I still remember our small talk when Ellen comfort me and bring me hope in the darkest moment. Her rich experience in helping moms during labor brought me a complete different and way better labor experience, compared to my first labor. She knows how to make me feel better and feel strong through message, words, hugs, etc. I don't know how I can survive through a VBAC without Epidural if Ellen was not there. Cannot say enough thanks to Ellen.

I believe we were blessed to have Ellen throughout the entire process. Ellen carefully prepared us before the labor so that we know what would happen. Ellen closely followed up the progress as the due date was approaching. The delivery wasn't easy as it was our first child. With Ellen next to the mum, we were definitely less nervous. After the baby was sucessfully delivered, Ellen continued answering our questions and provided so many useful tips to help us survive in the first a few months, which are the most difficult ones. Thank you so much, Ellen.

Ellen is nice and helpful.

Ellen is a very professional and friendly Doula. As an non-native speaker and first baby parents, we really appreciate her help on coping , making labor easier. We really love her service!
1/24/2022
Ellen is the best doula I know! She is super professional with rich knowledge to help moms, and she is extremely caring with great empathy that helped me significantly through labor. I won't hesitate to recommend Ellen to anyone!

Ellen is an incredible doula and we are so lucky to have her for my delivery! Not only is she extremely experienced and knowledgeable about all things pregnancy, birth and postpartum, she has a natural calming presence that was invaluable to me and my husband as first time parents.
I was induced over 3 days for the birth of our daughter. Ellen supported us every step of the way via phone/text and video calles. She answered all our questions, eased our fears, made sure we rested when we could, and ensured we understood what was happening and what our options were at any given moment.
During my labor, she was right by my side the whole time, but somehow she still managed to capture amazing images throughout. She fully engaged the much needed coping strategies such as, breathing through contractions, labor positions, massages. Ellen did a great job preparing my husband to do the back and hip massages to ease my pain. With all these amazing preparations, I gave birth to my baby girl in 5 minutes and 2 pushes, with minor tear.
If you are considering hiring a doula, look no further! Ellen is the best of the best.

I had Ellen as my doula for my pregnancy. She was amazing throughout my birth journey. Her
presence, tone, and energy brought so much peace and positivity to my partner and I throughout the whole experience. She is very attentive to me as an anxious first time mom. We had a few sessions with her before birth and we were well prepared and ready when my water broke at middle of the night. During my birth process, she was so caring and supportive and made my first birth experience great and memorable. We would highly recommend Ellen to other expecting parents!!

Ellen is very professional and helped me a lot for my fist baby. She was patient and gave me a big confidence to get the final sucess.
Also, she provided many useful suggestion to help me relieve during the whole labor process.
Really appreciate and thanks for her hardworking.

Ellen was highly recommended by everyone I know who had a baby in the last few years in the Seattle area. This is my first pregnancy and neither my husband nor I felt confident enough in the delivery room, given that English is our second language. So we hired Ellen. She held three online sessions prior to my due date to give us more details about what happens in the delivery room and some postpartum care instructions. During my labor, Ellen was of great help in calming me and soothing me at each contraction. And when the epidural wasn't given soon enough, Ellen was the biggest support to get me through the pain. I pushed for almost three hours and Ellen was there the entire time. It's hard to write down what Ellen did for us in details because she did so much during that 12 hours of labor and delivery. We cannot thank her enough for making our experience the way it was. I highly recommend Ellen for her birth doula service.
1/10/2022
Ellen is a super professional and experienced person. Because the first child had invited her to be my doula, I really needed her confidence when I gave birth to my second child. Due to the epidemic, my husband was unable to arrive when I was giving birth. In addition to the special circumstances of the second child, the child came out with contractions without any preparation. Ellen's immediate response was a huge help.
1/9/2022
I had a very good experience with Ellen! She has been very nice and considerate. We had three video meetings prior to labor. Ellen is very professional and always tried to coordinate with our needs. During this Covid time, we had no extra help from our family, and Ellen has been so helpful during my labor and postpartum care in hospital. We really appreciate her profession and care. Will definitely recommend her to our friends!

Ellen helped us in the summer of 2021 with our baby. My wife had quite a difficult labor including emergency c-section and massive blood loss. We were so fortunate that Ellen was there every step along the way and she was even with us in the operation room. During these really intense moments, you would want to have some one who understand the medical terms and negotiates with doctors/nurses. Ellen is fantastic in doing all of these. If we were to have kids again, we will definitely work with her

As new parents, we were extremely lucky to have Ellen as our birth doula. During the prep sessions before birth, Ellen helped us understand how to exercise to ensure a smooth birth, and most importantly when to head to the hospital. During the birth, Ellen's presence was super reassuring. I had 10 hours of vaginal birth followed by c-section. And Ellen was there for me the whole time, providing both physical and equally important mental support! I would highly recommend Ellen to expecting parents.

Having Ellen join our birth team was a fairly wise decision. She is very knowledge, patient, reliable, and emotionally present through the arrival of the baby. She provided continuous physical, instrumental, informational and emotional support and walked us step by step through the whole process. Moreover, she provided important information such as breast feeding before the baby is born for us to preview, which was very helpful. As a mom, I also appreciate her for including all family members (expecially dad) through the sessions.

Ellen is wonderful! She is so warm and professional, and she made the learning process of labor related knowledge fun and easy to remember. With her support, I went through my whole pregnancy and labor process full of confident and joy, and we got a happy baby! Thanks so much Ellen! I would recommend her to all my friends who pregnant. Besides, her YouTube channel is great, check it out and you will learn a lot!

Ellen was a great support for our journey. She is knowledgeable, caring and emotional supportive too. When I was having a big blood loss after birth, she was there to support my husband and the new born which was exactly what we needed.
1/8/2022
Ellen is beyond our expectations. She is very knowledgeable about everything related to delivery. She is understanding, supportive, and considerate. She played an important role during the entire process. We enjoyed every moment with her.

I was extremely lucky to have Ellen as my doula. She is very professional and responsible, and she knows what she is doing. She came to the hospital in the middle of night (1am) and helped me through the entire labor and delivery process. My son has a big head (98th percentile) and I don't think I could have done it without Ellen's help. I recommend her to everyone!

Originally I chose Ellen because she was the only Chinese doula in our area. I speak english really well and only wanted an Asian doula because its more comfortable and we probably have the same cultural understandings. Having Ellen as my doula and as my postpartum doula was the best thing I could have done for my pregnancy and postpartum. She is literally a real life angel! Because of covid19 i could not attend prenatal classes as the hospital canceled all of them. Instead I did sessions with Ellen to learn what to expect when I go to give birth and in the few days after giving birth. She was always readily available and always replied to me in a timely manner no matter how late it was.
I dont really have any female family members who could help me with giving birth or after birth but I didnt feel like I was missing anything because I had Ellen. She stayed with me at the hospital until a few hours after baby was born. Made sure I was comfortable and helped to ease my anxiety and know what to expect. Most importantly, she did not let any nurses or doctors pressure me to do anything that I wasnt comfortable with. I really did not want to breastfeed my baby at all and she advocated for me and told me it was okay to feel this way. She was not judgemental of my choice at all and was super understanding!
Ellen was also my postpartum doula and helped me to get some much needed sleep. When my breast milk came in I was so surprised and didnt know what to expect. Ellen helped me to get the milk ducts unclogged and helped me figure out a pumping schedule that worked best for me. When my baby had colic she brought it to my attention, otherwise i would have just thought i have a troublesome baby and not done anything to help improve the colic.
Hiring Ellen will be completely worth it and I feel like I made a life long friend! I will forever be thankful for her and all of the support she provided for me.

In short we will definitely recommend Ellen as a very good and professional Doula. When we first got in contact with Ellen, she had made a good plan for our delivery process and had several tutors sessions including a bunch of related documents to help me and my husband to get familiar with the process, this is very helpful especially for the new parent like us. We got some unexpected situation in which we will need c-section while previously we would expect a natural delivery process, and Ellen has also changed her tutor accordingly in time. During the delivery day, Ellen arrived on time, and helped relax both of us, reminding us of necessary things. She is very patient to be accompanied with us during the process, communicating with the doctor in real-time and keeping a positive attitude. After the child is born, she has fed the child with a bottle at first to make sure the baby is not hungry. She also followed up with us quite often in the following weeks. We are glad to have her during the whole process and really appreciate her help!

Ellen assisted me with my 1st child delivery this May. I was a first-time mom, however, had a really fast pace delivery. After I got admitted to the birth center with 3-centimeter dilation, I went fully dilated then finished my delivery within 2 hours. Because of the missing epidural and the fast development of my labor, both I and my husband urgently needed someone to help us figure out the right thing to do at the moment while my labor room was full of busy OBs and nurses for getting the baby's heartbeat. Ellen was so calm and professional to remind me of the breathing technique and the current pain management solution to help with the pain, as well as supporting me with getting an epidural while I was already 7-centimeter. After the anesthesiologist finally came, Ellen held me and count the contraction for me so that I could hold my back still when needed to get my epidural. With the help of Ellen, my labor went fast and smoothly although we had encountered quite a few trouble. I will absolutely choose Ellen to be my Doula if I'm going to have my second child.

We hired Ellen in the last week before due date, which is kinda last minute, but she was accommodating and luckily able to come help us. She quickly scheduled a virtual meeting with us and forwarded all the useful resources based on our needs. After I was admitted to the hospital, she made herself available and very responsive to our questions. When she drove to the hospital (5am in the morning), she immediately helped me try different positions to relieve pain and massaged my back. At the end, I pushed for 4 hours and Ellen stayed with me the whole time. As a first-time mom giving birth during covid, I can't imagine the laboring process without Ellen's help. She's professional, experienced, and caring.
7/20/2021
We had superb experience with Ellen!
Before the labor, she had multiple sessions with my wife and me. She transferred large amount of super helpful knowledge to us including how father can help mother, how to relief pain, how to plan the labor, and etc.
During the labor, she gave us a lot of very helpful instructions and interpreted doctor and nurse instructions to the way we can easily understand. With her help, our labor was very smooth.
After the labor, she came to visit us twice and helped us on breast feeding, baby bath, and etc.
I can't imagine how to be first time parents without her help.
7/20/2021
The contractions have been irregular during delivery, sometimes dense and sometimes long intervals. Ellen suspected that the baby's position was wrong, and assisted me in doing a lot of postures, including holding the cub cat and massage. It turns out that these actions have changed the baby's position. The opening of the fingers has also become smooth
7/20/2021
Ellen is considerable and professional. She offered us useful antenatal courses. And she greatly helped us during the labor process. I had a precipitous preterm labor in the midnight, but Ellen still arrived in time. Besides, she gave us a lot postpartum support, which we really appreciated.
4/22/2021
“A doula is like a trail guide. Familiar with the path, she keeps you hiking through the hard parts, knowing the view at the end is incredible.”
Ellen is the best trail guide we could have asked for. Last minute, Ellen was called in as back up for our planned doula. The plan change while in labor was stressful, but Ellen put our fears to rest quickly.
As a bonus, Ellen is fluent in Mandarin—my native language. While not needed, communicating in my mother tongue during a trying time added a layer of unsuspected comfort. Little did I know, Ellen’s fluency across languages was only matched by her fluency in her craft.
Alas, Ellen does not possess magic to altogether eliminate the pains of childbirth. But, her powers came pretty darn close.
Ellen applied many techniques to help me labor. As I did so for hours, Ellen did too. She was attentive throughout, during which my contractions were 45-60 seconds apart—hardly giving any of us time to breathe. Ellen worked to provide me relief the *entire time* with massage, aroma therapy, hip squeezes, guiding me through laboring positions that put the baby in the best delivery position, etc.
Undoubtedly thanks to Ellen’s tireless work & experienced counsel, my labor was mercifully short. By the time I requested the epidural, my provider said “we can see her head!” I was nonetheless given the choice, but in no state to make such a key decision. Ellen wisely gave me the emotional push (pun fully intended) I needed to brave delivery unmedicated. Less than 10 minutes of pushing later, I was holding our daughter on my chest!
PS, perhaps even more than what she did for me is that she gave my husband (1) the confidence to properly support me, and (2) milliseconds of reprieve to take in the experience in his own right. From our perspective, the latter is a luxury that most partners lack when there is no Ellen to guide their trail.
4/21/2021
Ellen is really nice and helpful. We met via Zoom several times before my due date, to talk about what I need to pay attention to, what exercises could help me to have an easier delivery, how my husband could do to relieve my pain and uncomfortness, when to get ready for admission and contact her, etc. She had clear schedule on the meetings and guided us through the process and gave us a lot of confidence.
She was also very helpful during my delivery. She instructed me on methods to help my dilation. And she helped to watch the baby stats. She was very alert on my condition. During my delivery, she instructed me on how and when I should push and hold. The baby came out after 3 pushes and I didn't have a severe tearing. She also took a lot of precious photos in the hospital.
I'm so lucky to have Ellen with us during the whole process!
4/12/2021
Ellen is amazing, she supported me throughout my pregnancy by teaching me poses and exercises that would ease the pain and help me to better prep for labor. On the day of my labor, Ellen was really supportive as well, she provided guidance on different poses and provide massages on contraction come. I highly recommend her to all expecting moms.
4/11/2021
Ellen is very positive and outgoing. It made me feel less nervous and scared during the birth. And it always relaxes me and gives me pain massages. This is great for my production process.
4/11/2021
I've interviewed a few doulas and found Ellen the most professional and easy to work with. Turns out I was right! We've had the most wonderful experience with Ellen. During pregnancy, I was extremely anxious about almost everything, and Ellen was always there! She's responsive and knowledgeable, taught me different tricks to relieve pain while keeping positive mood. Not to mention the magic she did at the actual delivery day. My baby was not ideally positioned- which meant a longer and more painful delivery. Ellen didn't give up, she helped me change positions for hours, and guess what? It actually worked!! Thanks to her guidance, I only had a minor tear and recovered pretty fast :). Thank you so much Ellen!!!

We felt extremely lucky to have Ellen with us for our first baby in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. My labor and delivery was a dream experience. With Ellen there, it felt calm and focused.
When I was almost 37 weeks, Ellen started to share her expertise in preparing for labor. She guided us through making a detailed birth plan and explained every consequences of each decision. She shared resources on what exercieses need to take for smooth delivery. She taught us lessons on everything we need to know about contraction pain relief and hospital experience.
My water broke 3 weeks earlier than my due date. It was in the midnight and I was admitted to the hospital right away. Ellen came over immediately around 3 am. She helped massaging to relieve my contraction pain. It was magic that after her massaging it felt much less painful! Ellen was so sweet that she told my husband to take a sleep and save energy for later when she's gone. During my labor and delivery, I was weak and had to rely on Ellen to communicate with the nurse using Madarin, since I didn't have enough time to catch up and learn all the medical jargons. Ellen was very professional that she kept explaining what's going on and allow me to get fully informed on the procedure.
When the contractions were getting stronger and when it came time to push, Ellen's calming presence and support had helped me maintain my focus. After 8 hours of labor and 30 minutes of pushing, our baby girl had arrived! Ellen stayed with us for a few more hours and had written a timeline of the day. The whole day was a blur and I'm so grateful she did this and is something we can keep and share with our daughter.
Ellen was our sounding board and we fully trusted her to guide us through the experience, which allowed us to enjoy the moment without worries.

The only thing I regret is that I did not have Ellen with me for my first child. Yes this is the second time I went through labor and it is still painful. Thanks to Ellen, she did extraordinary job helping me to manage the pain. Massaging my back and changing positions, these techniques absolutely worked very well on me. One of the best memories I have of the delivery was pushing my baby out. I clearly remember Ellen’s calming and confident voice helping me stay focused amidst the overwhelming sensations. I got my baby in an hour push and no tear at all!
I would not imagine our birth story without Ellen and definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for a caring and knowledgeable doula who can support you along this unique path.
12/11/2020
Ellen is a wonder Doula. She had been super helpful during my last stage of induction. I was in so much pain and having the thought of giving up. After Ellen came in, she guided me how to breath correctly, showed me different positions to help speed up my labor and helped me massage me back.
After knowing I can't give birth naturally, my husband was scared to go into surgery room with me so Ellen went in there with me instead, lol. She even helped message my husband about my status and when my baby was born.
I think Ellen did more than what a doula would do and made my birth better than I could imagine.
12/7/2020
We delivered our first child naturally with Ellen’s support and guidance. Before the delivery, Ellen provided 4 one-on-one courses to cover birth-related and basic postpartum care. She is also available for any questions between those courses. She prepared us for the unmedicated delivery by customizing the course material and paying close attention to my laboring progress.During the delivery, Ellen helped me handle the pain and control the urge to push with various techniques. Most importantly, Ellen filled me with the confidence that I could make the natural delivery myself.
11/16/2020
Ellen is a great doula!!! Both my husband and I can attest to Ellen's knowledge and ability. Even though this is our second pregnancy, we still have tons of questions about how to take care of newborn baby because our first one stayed in NICU for a couple weeks. She was responsible person, whenever you have any questions, even in midnight. I still remember when I was giving birth, she was trying to teach me how to breathe, help me to change position, and talk a lot with me during such a stress time. She was an excellent support for us. We were so thankful to have her with us and highly recommended to everyone!!!
11/6/2020
We love Ellen, not just because she is bilingual. She is super knowledgeble on how to prepare labor, both pysically and mentally, which is a huge help for first time parents like us. We had couple of virtual meetings covering all aspects of labor. She also provided lots of useful information for how to better support Mom during labor.
She did great job during my wife's labor process. Massaging, coping, communicating with nurse, breath and position during pushing. All you can think of. Me and my wife are very satisfied with her service.
Ellen also has a lot of experience on child care. Because of the COVID19, we don't have any help from family so we are on our own. And we cannot survive the first month after my son was born without Ellens help.
Another key point I want to point out here is communication. She keeps note of everything, our ob visit, test result, when to register birth room, etc. and sometime we forgot something and she always remind us. It just feels very comfortable talking to here. Also she is super flexible, you can ask her question anytime, and she is really a quick responser.
We really glad that we hired Ellen as our doula, and we also highly recommend her for all parents-to-be. you won't regret!!!
10/28/2020
Ellen is a great doula and a great friend. She is professional, patient, caring, and focused. She's always energetic and passionate when she's with the family. I contact her short after giving birth and she comes to my house and help me with every details about how to taking care of my baby as well as taking care of myself. Her multicultural background provides various inputs and useful resources that could benefit the process of my healing, mentally and physically. She loves the little ones. With her, I feel so assured and relaxed. If ever I will have another baby, she will definitely be my go-to person.
10/16/2020
It is very lucky for me and my family to hire Ellen as my birth doula. We started a couple weeks before the birth, Ellen is so knowledgeable that she was able to answer all my questions as a nervous first-time mom. During the birth, Ellen came in time and helped me to use different tools to get the baby to the right position. She also carefully recorded important details and reminded the nurse to have the correct information on record. When it came to the time to push, Ellen was right by my side and taught me how to breathe. She was there the whole time caring for me for more than 10 hours until my baby was delivered and I was transferred to postpartum. I will be forever thankful to her.
9/3/2020
It was so lucky to have Ellen as our doula. She definitely performed her professions far beyond our expectations. Before delivering the baby, every time I went to hospital for regular pregnant check up, she always keep in mind and follow up in time. She also gave me lots of directions on pregnancy yoga to release anxiety. At the time of delivering, it was really thankful to have her here and she stayed in hospital with us for almost 20 hours. She explained everything in detailed and was extremely patient to check my status. She also did several follow-up even after delivering baby and is more willing to provide knowledge like breastfeeding and so on.
Without hesitation, I will introduce Ellen to all my mom-to-be friends.
8/28/2020
I am a mom of 1.5 month old girl. It has been a hard time for me and my baby since we are facing Covid-19. Especially we could not have other family members next to me when I delivered my child.
Choosing Ellen as our doula was one of the best decisions we made during our pregnancy journey. Even we are second-time parents, we found her professional knowledgeable guide by our side was the key to having our very smooth birth experience.
Ellen is always checking on me and my child. There are several questions that I have been asking Ellen and you always make them clear. I appreciate you effort and passion on my delivered journey. I remembered texting you in the middle of the nights when I was too close to the delivered day. And as I mentioned, you always texted me back. Thanks again for your support. I would highly recommend Ellen as anyone’s professional doula.

We hired Ellen for our birth doula and postpartum consulting. I think Ellen exceeds my highest expectation for doula service, and I recommend her without hesitation. She is really a role model for her profession.
Ellen is exemplary in her customer obsession mindset and she earned my deepest trust and respect. I fully trust her in thinking and acting on behalf of my best interests. She is honest and has high standards in integrity. She is mission-driven and she loves her profession.
Example 1: We gave birth in June during the COVID situation. Throughout her stay at the hospital, she wear medical mask and was strict in not drinking and eating in the room, although both us and nurses encouraged her to do so. She brought her extensive experience for birth doula, helped my wife to well prepare mentally, and practice breath and excercise. She also has a very good relation and reputation with the nurse community at my hospital. Nurses trusted and liked her professionalism. As a dad-to-be then, having Ellen as our labor doula is a game-changer which helped us to keep calm and well prepared. My son was delivered successful given some complication was presented. I am deeply grateful to Ellen's help thoughout the labor.
Example 2: After we gave birth, Ellen kindly kept being our remote consultant. She helped us to "survive" the most intense and challenging first month. She is very responsive, answering all sorts of questions related to breastfeeding, how to deal with fuziness of the baby, and all sorts of questions new parents would be overwhelmed. She explained things really well and efficient. She has a collection of high quality materials including YouTube videos, inforgraphics, articles, etc. Having Ellen as our remote consultant really gave us the professional support and guidance we desparately needed.

My baby son just have his one-month birthday. Time passed so fast, I still remember everything I have been through to have this lovely baby.
I think beside my husband, the most important person who helped me a lot is my doula-Ellen. She has everything I am looking for. She is professional with a lot of experience, and very easy to communicate. Everything she taught me during my pregnancy and the help during my delivery are so helpful for me. For me I think without her help I cannot do such good job. Thank you, Ellen.

I am a mom of 2 month old boy. It has been a hard time for me and my baby since we are facing Covid-19. I especially didn't have my husband next to me when I delivered my child. Thank you for always checking on me and my child. There are several questions that I have been asking Ellen and you always make them clear. I appreciate you effort and passion on my delivered journey. I remembered texting you in the middle of the nights when I was too close to the delivered day. And as I mentioned, you always texted me back. Thanks again for your support.

Choosing Ellen as our doula was one of the best decisions we made during our pregnancy journey. From a male’s perspective, and especially as first-time parents, I didn’t initially appreciate just how helpful having a knowledgeable guide by our side would be, but looking back, Ellen was the key to having our birth experience go as planned. She is one of the most experienced doulas having attended hundreds of births. Ellen also genuinely loves what she does and really enjoys helping people.
Even before the birth, Ellen was crucial in preparing us for what to expect and how to handle the early contractions. We met with Ellen several times, and her hands-on sessions were what really built our confidence.
When the big day arrived, Ellen came to the hospital as soon as we needed her which was at 10 PM. She instantly took charge in comforting and helping with labor massages. It was amazing- my wife was immediately more relaxed and able to better process everything. As the contractions grew more painful, Ellen helped us decide when to start the epidural and continued to provide emotional and physical support (through massage and pressure points) which helped both of us. It wasn’t until almost 10 AM the next day that our baby was born vaginally after my wife pushed for more than 4 hours! To be honest, without Ellen, we probably would have had to go to c-section which would have been disappointing after all of that effort. After the baby was delivered and even after being up all night, Ellen stayed many more hours making sure everything was OK with Mom and Baby.
Ellen’s support didn’t stop after the birth. Ellen still checks in with us providing recommendations and answering questions. She continues to go way beyond all of our expectations. From the beginning we have felt like close friends rather than clients. We are so happy to know Ellen and have her in our lives. We can highly recommend Ellen without hesitation!

My experience with Ellen was beyond words, and I would recommend her for any moms that are considering a doula.
My due date was April 24th, 2020, which coincided with the peak of the pandemic. Therefore, all of my birthing classes were canceled and it was quite scary feeling unprepared going into the final month of the pregnancy. Ellen gave a lot of great information and materials for me to read up, and always made herself available. Though all my meetings with her ended up being virtual, she made them very engaging for my husband and I and answered every question I had.
I decided to have an induce labor as my baby was past his due date, and went into the hospital the evening of April 26th. Everything went as planned until early morning on the 27th, when my baby experienced heart rate de-acceleration twice during mild contractions and I was becoming emotionally unstable as I was afraid that something was going to happen to the baby. I called Ellen and she rushed to the hospital right away (4 in the morning). I was so thankful to have her (her massages and supprotive words) through painful contractions and uncertain time. In the end, I had to make the decision of having a cesarean delivery due to my baby unable to deal with contractions, but I was so glad to have Ellen by my side. Although she didn't have to, but she insisted on staying after the surgery (which was about 11p) just to make sure I was doing okay and helped with breastfeeding.
I'm now 7 weeks post partum, and Ellen still checks in with me. I couldn't be more thankful for everything Ellen have done!!!

Ellen made a world of difference during my labor and delivery, a process with many unknowns especially for a first time mom like myself; I had prepared myself by taking birthing classes, talking to family and friends, reading books and other material online, but these could not replace Ellen, an experienced, professional, empathetic doula.
I opted for an unmedicated birth. When contraction pain became intense, Ellen tried several techniques, at the right timing to greatly relieve my physical pain and emotional stress, making labor bearable. At my most unpredictable pushing moments, working seamlessly with the healthcare team, Ellen gave me clear instructions on breathing, which resulted in stablizing my baby's heart rate at a very critical time; her calm demeaner, encouraging words, clear and effective instructions guided me to focus and push effectively, which contributed to a very short pushing time. In addition, Ellen has also helped answer many questions during my pregnancy and postpartum. It's a blessing to have Ellen as our birth doula!

Ellen' professional suggestions did benefit me a lot, for instance, the yoga poses she tought me shortened my laboring time. Also, Ellen encouraged me to keep my own pace and listen to my body, which eliminated my anxiety and fear. I recommend Ellen to you whoever wants doula service.

As a professional doula, Ellen has lots of experience and rich knowledge. She is also caring and considerate. We really lucky to have her to support us in such special moment! Highly recommended!

Where do I even start? Ellen was a godsend!
During her first visit about a month or so before i was due, she stayed for a couple of hours and took me through the journey of all the different things I can expect from labour and what i can expect from her. She even brought stage items to show how the pelvic changes during birth etc. It was a great first meeting.
I had mild-medium contractions about 3-4 days before the actual labour. I texted Ellen and she came over to the house a couple of times to take me through some breathing exercises, massages, among other things to make myself more comfortable. It was scary to navigate the situation as a first time mom and i was so glad to have someone with in-depth knowledge to take me through the entire process, like how to properly time the contractions etc.
During the actual labour, that's when Ellen really shined. I was so thankful to have her there. She was an advocate for me from the start, making sure i was as comfortable as possible, despite painful contractions. It was a long labour that lasted almost 24 hours and Ellen was there every step of the way. When contractions were "i can't talk right now" bad, she knew the right pressure points and positions to get into to help me get through every minute of painful contraction. When i wasn't sure of something the nurse or doctor suggested, Ellen would talk me through the options to the best of her knowledge. She also gave the best massages! She was a cheerleader for both my husband and I during the actual birth and we know we couldn't have done it with her.
She did a follow-up visit and was there when i had questions about breastfeeding. She still occasionally checks up on us to make sure all is well.
Everything above is only about 50% of all the things she did during our time with her. I blame mom-brain and writing this 10 months too late.
I highly recommend Ellen.

Highly recommended! When my wife first talked about a doula for childbirth, I was skeptical, we had a great doctor and her team, my family and I are also very involved, didn't seem like we needed an extra service. Ellen blew my mind with her professionalism, knowledge and dedication toward her work. Her being there made our childbirth experience so much easier, made my life so much easier! The amount of support and patience is impeccable. Truly appreciate all you do!

My partner and I were so happy that we were able to have Ellen as our doula. As many of her other clients write, she was engaged from the very beginning antenatally and was so helpful postpartum checking in with tips and other ideas about things that would make our lives easier (for example, a list of items to put in a "to go" bag for when we leave the house with the baby). While my labor took an unexpected turn and we had to go to c-section which I had hoped would not happen, Ellen's prescence was one of the primary reasons that I had such a positive experience. Because of her (and of course a great medical team) I felt satisfied that going to c-section was the right thing to do and that all options to prevent it had been explored. She was wonderful in guiding me and my partner through our nerves as we got ready for the operation.
I also want to specifically note that while Ellen's language skills make her particularly attractive to Chinese clients, we didn't select her based on that quality. Both me and my partner were born in the US and fluent English speakers. As someone who works in the obstetrics field deliverying babies, I approached Ellen after watching her interact with many of my own patients. I think she strikes a perfect balance of labor support, emotional support, patient advocacy, and giving the medical team their space to do what they think is best as well.
I also wanted to note that the unfortunate reality is that prenatal/obstetrical care is an area where our society really emphasizes gender and a heteronormative culture. I am a cis-woman and married to a cis-woman. And while many of the people that we encountered through our pregnancy journey did their best, there were many times that it was glaringly (and sometimes painfully) apparent that we were not the norm or what they were used to. We never felt this way with Ellen.

I'm so glad I choose Ellen to be my doula. Everyone works in the hospital told me I got the best doula, and I admit it now. She is very knowledgeable and helpful. She helps me a lot before during and after my delivery. She answers my questions even after her job done. I will definitely let her be my doula again for my next baby. she makes my mood better every time we talk.

I am very grateful to have such a Chinese-speaking and experienced doula. She followed up with me for a month prior to my birth, and cared for all my conditions in a meticulous manner.
When I started contractions at 4:00 in the morning, I went to the hospital and called Ellen. She arrived 20 minutes later which was very supporting. When I was contracting, my stomach was very painful and my lower back was extremely sore. She helped me to ease the pain and massaged my back with very firm squeezes. I was also have my two-and-a-half-year-old son at the birth with me, Ellen helped me to take care of my son.
Before I gave birth to my second, She continued giving me a chicken soup, so that I could have energy to push and not being hungry. She also coached me with pushing efficiently. She was very caring and encouraging the whole time. She made me feel warm and loved.
Finally, the child was born very smoothly after half an hour, I very appreciated her, my doula, Ellen.

Ellen helped me achieve the birth experience that I've dreamed of. We get to know each other well before the birth, I was offered clear instruction on when to contact her and when to go to the hospital. She also gives knowledge about birth that boosted my confidence in labor.
During the labor, she encouraged me to stay home longer, and helped walked around at grocery store to cope labor. We arrived at hospital at perfect timing, and she continued help me coping labor untill I decided to use epidural, and she helped to convey this decision to the nurse so I got it on time, right before 7 cm open.
I'm very thankful to her for a happy birth, she is very caring and compassionate for her patient!

Ellen is very patient and knowledgeable. She taught me many gestures when I'm having contractions, which helped me relieve the pain and smooth the birthing process. I went to the hospital at midnight. I'm so surprised that she can answer my call and arrived at hospital soon. During the labor process, she also taught me a lot. Even after the birth, she was very patient to answer all our random questions like feeding and child issues. Our family all like Ellen!

We were not sure if we need a doula until we met Ellen. She is professional, patient and caring. She started answering all our questions months before the D day. I became very anxious the last month, she was able to comfort me with her bright personality and skills.
She made my labor an delivery process so joyful, and she is more than just a doula for us, she is a family friend.

I could never thank Ellen enough for her help when I was giving birth to my daughter Anna. My delivery experience was way better than I expected because of her. The way she explained all the complicated medical terms/process patiently to me and my family made me feel relaxed and know that she was on my side no matter what. It was her who gave me the strength and courage to believe that I can do this. And when we we have any question, Ellen was reachable and diligent. If anyone is looking for the help of a doula, I will definitely recommend Ellen.

First of all, I’d like to give thanks to my doula, Ellen, who is vey thoughtful and patient. Her profession greatly helped me throughout my pregnancy, labor and postpartum.
Because this was my first pregnancy and not being very understand about laboring, I was always uneasy. However, Ellen helped me. From our first home visit, she explained what I need to know including what is doula and their scope of practice and rights. She then explained to me in detail what I should expect and pay attention before, during and after labor. This was very helpful to me that I know what I should do and what I should be paying attention to. She also explained clearly what I would be possibly facing when unexpected happens. Our first home visit was thus very pleasantly ended.
In the morning at 3 o’clock on April 5th, I started to feel my baby is ready. I contacted Ellen right away. She told me very patiently of each step I should be taking even though she should be sleeping at that time. We then met in the hospital at 7am. I had more frequent contractions when waiting to be examined. Ellen’s comforting words and massage made me more relaxed. Then, in the long waiting process, she has accompanied me until the birth of the baby. In the whole laboring process, not only did she do a wonderful job, she comforted and encouraged me which greatly helped me. Lastly, everything went well. Ellen also followed up my conditions even after discharging from hospital.
I’m very grateful for Ellen’s help. I encountered an excellent doula. She is a very professional and thoughtful doula. This was a great doula experience. Thank you, Ellen.

Ellen came to my last 3 prenatal visits with me. She made sure all my concerns and questions answered. I felt so secured when she was around.
During the two days and nights I was contracting in early labor, she guided me to ease pain. It was a bad snowy day at my birth in February, she was still there for me.
Ellen is a very professional and enthusiastic doula. Her passion with hard working attitude and cleverness make my labor experience comfortable and peace of mind.
I strongly recommend Ellen as a doula for every pregnant woman for she will make your labor a more comfortable experience.

I am glad that I had Ellen as my doula to support myself and my family. Ellen has been a great help during my pregnancy and a strong support to myself and my family when I was in labor. Ellen and I worked together on my birth plan, and followed up with me on a weekly basis in my third trimester to get an update from me after my weekly OB appointments. I was well prepared for what would come next. After my water broke, I got accepted by the hospital - Ellen arrived at 10PM on Friday when I just started to feel the cramps from labor. She taught and helped me by using non-medical method to ease the pain with encouraging words and clear instructions. She also stayed at the hospital for the entire night even though I was not yet in active labor. When I was in active labor the next day, she was with me for the whole time and provied both morale support and professional service, espeically when complications occurred. Ellen was eventually with me in the OR per my request as I felt that she would watch out for me and my baby.
Ellen is fun to work with, and is good with communication in a timely and responsive manner. She's proficient in both English and Mandarin, and is capable of interpreting medical terms to human language. Being a mom herself, she cares a lot about moms and newborns and is very commited to the work that she's doing. I would definitely recommend her to my friends and mom-to-bes.

Ellen is very careful, and explains everything to us very clearly and professionally. This is my first baby, so I don't understand at all. I come from China and my English is not very good, so I was lucky to meet her. Thank her for her company and patience.

Ellen was a big help to me and my husband during the third trimester and the labor process. She visited us at home twice at home before labor, to answer our questions and provide some light training on how to address pain when labor comes. She's always available by phone or message, which is very helpful during the last few nervous days before labor. I was in doubt whether or not my water is broken and she gave me good detailed information to confirm. My actual labor was pretty fast, thanks to Ellen's tips.
