Danielle was an amazing doula.  She was so respectful and thoughtful and helped me through a 17 hour birth by phone at first and then came when I asked her to as activ labor started.  She stood back when I needed just my husband and came forw when I had any questions with excellent and soothing technique and ideas.  After the baby was born I struggled with getting used to managing a toddler and baby and Danielle helped with advice and a great listening ear.  She's just really tuned into what people need with a strong and calm presence. I highly recommend her!

We hired Danielle as our postpartum doula to help us with our new-born preemie twin babies. Danielle was nothing short than the perfect doula. She had an instant connection with the babies, guided us through our first weeks as parents, helped us feel confident and natural with the babies, and made our time with our precious ones fun and magical. Danielle is an amazing person, heartful, kind, and attentive. We feel so lucky to have had her with us!

Danielle is both an excellent instructor as well as an amazing doula. Our experience was strongly positive before, during, and following labor. She was emotionally supportive in a way that was crucial to mom's wellbeing. Additionally she employed all sorts of position changes, holds, lunges, and dancing, which did their magic in moving labor along. She knew when to advocate for our space from the medical team to think over a medical choice given to us. Her ongoing support has been fantastic and valued.

Danielle was referred to us by a friend who had her as her doula.  As soon as my husband and I met with her there was no doubt in our minds that we'd found our doula.  Danielle is amazing!  She met with us a few times before my delivery and was available via phone and email 24/7 for any questions or concerns I may have had throughout my pregnancy.  The day I delivered I was in labor for over 22 hours and Danielle was there with us the whole time from the time I called her at 4am into the early hours of the following morning.  She was integral in my having the great birth experience that I ended up having, giving both me and my husband support and guidance all along.  When the hospital sent me home to labor when I wasn't dilated far enough, Danielle was by my side the whole time, massaging me and helping me get through it all.  She helped us determine when would be appropriate to go back to the hospital and once there she not only gave me techniques to get through the pain of natural childbirth but was also my cheerleader to get through it when I thought I was sure I couldn't endure any more.

Since our daughter's arrival, Danielle has made multiple visits to our house to check in on us and help us as we transition into our new lives as parents.  We've been having some of the invevitable struggles that new parents have (lack of sleep, trouble breastfeeding, etc.) and Danielle is a wealth of knowledge, patience and understanding.  I'm so happy to be able to call her not just my doula but also my friend.

Stop searching for a doula right now and call Danielle!

Before meeting up with Danielle, I really did not know what having a doula would look like as an expecting dad. Would it be invasive? Would it be weird? Would it be irritating? Would she try to take over my role? With Danielle, the answer to all of these was a resounding NO. She was absolutely wonderful on every account. Danielle not only brought experience, knowledge, and a vast array of resources, but more importantly she brought a tremendous amount of comfort, compassion and genuine friendship throughout the process. I would recommend Danielle to any expecting parents. We had all sorts of dumb questions, but we never felt dumb for asking them. She made us feel very comfortable as we encountered worry, anxiety or fear over a particular aspect of pregnancy or parenting strategy. My wife and I are forever grateful that Danielle was part of the process as we encountered a few health concerns during the birth process. She allowed for us to make a decision with some objective advice so that we could feel confident in having to make some big decisions. After our daughter was born, Danielle offered us pictures that she had taken and also came over a few times to allow my wife and I to get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. She was a great doula, but more than that, she is a great person. We are very happy that she was involved in the birth of our daughter. Thank you, Danielle!

I would highly reccomend Danielle.  From the beginning of our time together, Danielle was supportive and took the time to answer all of our questions (and believe me, as first time parents, we had a lot!).  She helped us to write our birth plan, and then adapt with confidence to the changes that came up as labor progressed.  Working with Danielle gave us piece of mind throughout pregnancy, birth and shortly thereafter - she took time to thoroughly walk us through each piece of the journey towards parenthood, and was a wonderful advocate for us.  After baby arrived, she answered our many questions and even came and sat with us and baby during part of the night so we could get some rest.  I can not say enough about how lucky I feel to have been able to work with Danielle throughout this, and I would reccomend her to anyone looking for a doula to work with.

Hiring Danielle Cruz as our doula was one the best decisions my husband and I made during our pregnancy!   We met her in our Great Starts with Penny Simpkin birth class where she was working as the class assistant.  She was always so personable and kind that we took a liking to her right away.  We were in the process of interviewing doulas when it was mentioned in class that Danielle was a doula herself.  I told my husband that night that if she were to be available, she was the doula I wanted.  How lucky we were that she was available and accepting clients for our due date!

Throughout those last few months, Danielle was a wealth of knowledge and support.  This was my first baby, and my due date came and went.  At 42 weeks, I had no option but to induce.  Danielle assured me that this did not mean that my plan for a natural birth had to be abandoned.  She encouraged me to hold true to my birth plan, and I am happy to say that I was able to deliver my daughter without any drugs (other than the pitocin used for induction).  Without Danielle's encouragement, support and cheering along the way this would never have been possible.

My husband and I both feel that Danielle has become a life-long friend.  She is an amazingly kind, considerate, knowledgeable and inspiring person.  I can think of no one better to have at your side when giving birth!

Danielle Cruz is more than an amazing person, what she does is guide you through a very unexplainable path. My husband and I took the classes and family and friends tried to tell us what would happen when giving birth. But when you’re a first time parent you have no clue what to expect or well I didn’t. It is not a life changer, it is a shift in dimensions. An absolute change on the order of entering adolescence, being born or loosing a loved one. Danielle was there with us every step of the way through this transition. She was more than a doula. I would call her a spiritual guide! I met Danielle at Penny Simpkins birthing class, I looked at her name tag, and we both had the same last names. It was fate she had to be there through our journey. When it came down to the day of delivery I am so thankful we had her through this ride. Danielle took a personal interest in my birth experience. She also made sure it was not just me but my husband who was fed or needed a nap. One of the most powerful memories is of her massaging my feet during labor. She will go above and beyond to make sure you have the birth experience you want because that is simply her nature. When we have another child wherever we are in the world I would not want to be without her by my side.

I first met Danielle through Penny Simkin’s birthing class where she was working as an assistant.  I had never known anyone that had used a doula for their birth, but was very interested.  After a few emails back and forth, we met for an informative meeting.  She explained exactly what a doula could provide during labor, and answered all of our questions.  Both my husband and I felt an instant connection with Danielle and knew we had to have her as our doula.

During our pregnancy Danielle provided us with a wealth of information, which helped us pinpoint exactly what we wanted for our first birth. She informed us of all the different options for our birth plan.  She went above and beyond what we had anticipated during this process.

When I decided to change our birth plan from birthing in the hospital, to a freestanding birth center, she was beyond supportive and extremely excited for me to have the birth experience I truly desired.  It was what I had always envisioned for my birth, but as a first time mom, I was honestly nervous and had concern’s if I could handle a natural birth.  It was because of the amazing connection I had formed with Danielle that made me believe with her help I could have the amazing natural birth experience I wanted.

I had a lengthy labor, and Danielle’s presence provided the physical and emotional support that both my husband and I needed.  I truly believe that my birth experience would have been extremely different without Danielle.  She understood my desire for a natural birth, and her encouragement and reassuring nature gave me the confidence needed in my body’s capabilities.

I feel so lucky to have had Danielle attend our birth.  Word’s can’t describe my gratitude for her.  If we are so blessed to have another child, Danielle will definitely be a part of that birth as well.

I often think about the birth of my son, and every time I do, I am filled with a sense of empowerment. My birth went just the way I wanted it to go - it was a completely natural birth. I was so fortunate to have both my husband and Danielle with me. Danielle was exactly what I needed.

During my pregnancy she provided me with practical information regarding labor and birth, and listened closely while I worked through my concerns, both positive and negative.

At the hospital Danielle provided a calm, capable, and caring presence which also helped put my husband at ease. She offered me so much physical, emotional and spiritual support and reassured me that everything was proceeding well and that she was by my side in case any need should arise.

It was such a blessing to have Danielle at my birth! I think the world of her and could not have asked for a more wonderful doula.
