I highly recommend Steph as a doula! She was warm, supportive, and knowledgeable - her  different hypno tools and bag of tricks made me feel so much calmer as my due date approached. She was highly flexible in terms of what role we needed her to play. My labour was a long one that took turns I didnt anticipate and it was great to have her there to offer new things to try and to keep our spirits up. She supported our choices and helped it to be a positive experience despite some special circumstances we didnt anticipate. She is a cool person and fun to spend time with - which is awesome during a long labour! I had to convince my partner we should spend the money on a doula but post birth he is such a fan and is so glad we decided to hire her. Birthing can be pretty overwhelming and it was great to have steph on our team. She also helped with breast feeding during the early post partum which was hugely helpful.

We were lucky enough to have Steph as our Doula for the birth of our second child. After planning to give birth in the hospital for the second time, I knew that I wanted a drug free, natural birth. However, I wasn't confident in my own ability to follow through with that plan. Steph was our backbone of confidence during labour, empowering us with the information, tools and encouragement to have the birth that we wanted. From being a calming presence start to finish, to keeping me motivated during the last few centimetres of dialation, I truly feel that without Steph I wouldn't have had the willpower to carry through with my intended plans. Furthermore, I found it reassuring to have someone on my 'team' who was familiar with the protocols and available tools within the hospital. The birth of our son was perfect, big thanks to Steph!

Stephanie is extremely professional, her knowledge of birthing and the pregnant body is unbelievable.

Stephanie's calm demeanor and quick thinking was amazing during labour. The different position changes and suggestion to have a bath was extremely helpful to make for a more comfortable labour.

I highly recommend Stephanie to any couple looking for a Doula. My mind was at easy while I was pregnant and during birth knowing Stephanie was part of my birthing team.

During my first pregnancy I was extremely anxious about what labour and delivery would be like; I started searching for as much information and tools to help me  during my labour to ease my mind. I found Stephanie when planning to take her hypnobirthing and prenatal classes. Through taking her classes and getting to know her I knew I needed her at my birth. Stephanie is one of the most intuitive people I’ve ever met. She knew exactly how to speak to and care for me before and during my birth. She carries herself with a calm, caring, and approachable manor. Her knowledge is vast and I felt comfortable asking or talking to her about anything, knowing she would have no judgement. She helped advocate for what I wanted without any biased opinions. You can tell she truly loves her job and is a passionate about everything birth. I felt completely at ease having Stephanie on my birthing team.

Preparing for the birth of our first child, I first found Stephanie through searching out hypnobirthing. Immediataly apon meeeting her, I knew I also wanted and would feel comfortable with her supporting us at the birth. The knowledge and insight she provided through the hypnobirthing course and preganancy not only helped us through the birthing process but also demonstrated practices we use daily. She brough a familiarity and understanding that only an experienced mother could share with the comfort and ease of a trusted friend. She also helped bridge the emotional gap between my partner and I and made me feel supported through my emotions and never judged. Stephanie always clearly laid out the options; what each meant and the potential result of our decisions. She is warm, welcoming, genuine, educated and most of all real. We enjoyed our time and experience with her and only wish we could continue seeing her on the regular. I highly reccomend Stephanie and think she is of great benefit in assisting with this amazing tansition.

Stephanie was an invaluable part of my birthing team. She answered my questions via text message during my pregnancy, she met us at the hospital at midnight when my water broke 3 and a half weeks early, she came back the next morning when we arrived to be induced, she supported me and reminded me to breath to my baby. She was also an amazing support for my husband, in supporting me! She suggested things for him to do or say and thus he felt empowered in comforting me. Doulas are incredible and I thank my drug-free labour to Stephanie. She is tireless, comfortable, assertive, and works very well with the hospital staff. I felt strong and capable with her as part of my team, and when I felt scared she validated that feeling and reminded me that I was safe, doing well, and that my baby was on the way. Much love for THIS Doula!

Let's start from the top.

From the moment we walked into our first Hypno Birthing class I fell in love with Stephanie. Her genuine ora instantly made me feel comfortable and warmly welcomed. She is extremely educated and informed but not only textbook, but from within the heart and soul. Every week, every class, every text message and every hug made me know that my pregnancy, labour, and 4th trimester was going to lead me into a happy growing family life. And it was exactly that.

Attending those Hypno Birthing classes I was able to form a deeper bond with my man, as well as our growing baby, and myself. I understood exactly what was happening inside my body and mind and how to connect with not only my own body but also with baby. I learned how to show gratification towards me, baby, and dad. I felt peaceful throughout my pregnancy and when I was almost 2 weeks overdue Stephanie was still there keeping my mind calm, my heart full and emotions in tact.

As I went to the hospital to be induced she was still there, in the pit of my stomach, more calming than an IV of lavender to the veins. My labour couldn't have been better. It was the perfect birth story. We watched football, and movies and listened to music between the contractions, I laughed and smiled and was excited for my life to change. I never forgot Stephs voice in the back of my head reminding me of my birth colour, the waves, and how good it felt to breathe deep. Induced at 6pm, active labour at 8:30pm, baby girl born at 11:11pm, home by 7am.

Instantly, she was perfect. Latched great, slept even better, and never cried. Here we are almost 6 months later and still just as perfect. Every ounce of me believes that it wouldn't have turned out this way without Steph. Steph kept my mind so positive and realxed during the most intense and scary part of my adult life. She reminded me with her ora that everything will be okay and guess what, she was right.

I wouldnt have had the most empowering and calm birth experience without Stephanie's guidance. After a traumatic first birth with my son I knew I wanted more support the second time around. She kept me calm and focused throughout the entire experience, she was and is amazing! Anyone would be lucky to have Stephanie be a part of their birthing team.

Steph was really great to work with. We first met her during the Hypnobirthing course. She is an excellent faciliatator who is full of knowledge about the birthing process and how to use the hypnobirthing techniues to help the process run more smoothly and easily. After the course we felt more confident and assured that we could successfully have a home birth. We then hired Steph to be our doula durin the birth. We met with her twice before the birth to prepare and talk about what we really needed from her during the birth but also how we wanted the birthing room to look and feel. During the birth Steph came and showed up before the midwifes. She was an excellent coach during the birth i that she was right beside me and verbally instructing me the entire which helped me to focus on going forward towards birthing th baby (versus focusing on the pain or intensity). The labour ended up being only 3 hrs and 40 mins and I think this was expedited due to using the hypnobirthing techniques and focusing on opening to the baby coming. Steph has a down to earth easy going genuine personality and a very warm embrace. I would definately use her again for support if I have another child.

Our daughter was born into the morning light in the most peaceful of ways and Stephanie was such a huge part of that.  When we were pregnant we set the intention that we wanted birth to be calm and as pain free as possible. We wanted our daughter to enter the world in that way. Our time with Stephanie was so important in how we were able to make that happen. She came to our house and gave us ideas as to how we could achieve the birth we wanted. She was always available to us when we had questions. We really could not have done what we were able to do without her guidance and experience.

I would highly recommend hiring Stephanie to be present at your birth.

In 2017, my husband and I lost our 6th child to an undiagnosed heart defect when he was just 5 days old. When I surprisingly found myself pregnant again in 2018 I began the difficult journey of grieving one life and preparing for another life. I realized right away that I would need a doula present at my birth- someone who could hold space for me while providing emotional and physical support. I had first talked to her in 2017 when I was last pregnant inquiring about hypnobirthing, and when I found myself pregnant again- reached out.

Every time I met with Steph, she sat and listened and let me work through the things that I was feeling. She never once told me how I should feel about my labor or having a newborn after a loss. She would sit quietly, just being present and answering any questions that I had. Whenever she left my house I felt a sense of calmness and appreciated the time to just feel what I was feeling.

Our son, Nikos, was born during the 38th week. He surprised us early and we suddenly had to change our plans of a loving, calm beautiful home birth an augmented hospital birth. Again, Stephanie was present simply holding space- never telling me what decision was the right or the wrong one, rather offering gentle support as we navigated through a very different birth expereince for our family.

She offered a lot of valuable information (pro's and cons) without any sense of judgement, to my husband and I as we talked about the option of a potential c-section, oxytocin and more. When we found ourselves in a bit of a panic at the time of pushing she was able to offer my husband support all while supporting me physically and emotionally.

She attended our birth with a bag of doula tricks and just her presence alone brought calmness and confidence to the room- she absolutely knows birth! Such a blessing.

I took a prenatal class expecting to learn the basics of giving birth and infant care, not at all expecting to fall in love with the doula who taught the class! After the first night of the class, I knew I had to have Steph with me during my delivery. She exuded the kind of warmth and compassion balanced with science-based information that I simply wasn't receiving from my doctor.

I was hoping to have a birth free from pain medication and medical intervention. All my friends and family told me "don't be a hero" and to "take the epidural" but I wanted to experience this wild ride to the fullest, as long as it was safe for the baby and me. Steph gave me the courage and the calmness to reach my birth goal. She was with me while I laboured at home and kept my husband and I calm. At the hospital, she helped give me the courage and knowledge to politely decline unnecessary medical intervention (specifically continuous fetal monitoring, IV, and the use of forceps). While I was pushing, Steph keep me centered and focused on allowing my body to move and change as it needed.

There is no way I would have had the courage and patience to go through an unmedicated labour and delivery without Steph. The care she provides prior to, during, and after delivery are absolutely the best. She clearly cares about her work with all her heart. I absolutely recommend Steph as a doula to ensure you get to experience the kind of birth you want!

As I came late to the scene, both in terms of my arrival to Canada and in my age for pregnancy (39), I was thrilled to find Stephanie available to be my Doula. I knew there were going to be special challenges because my partner is out of country and my mother was recovering from a surgery.  Stephanie is incredibly supportive without pushing an agenda, which is probably the most important trait of a doula considering all opinions and influences thrust upon pregnant women by both their care providers, and well-meaning friends and family. Her unwavering support and tolerance was invaluable throughout what proved to be the most defining time of my life. I leaned on her heavily and I am forever grateful that such an amazing person accompanied me and my little person on this first part of our new lives together.

There is no substitute for the love and support Stephanie gave us during the birth journey of our first child. She was there with us completely; from teaching us methods of coping naturally with labour months in advance, to welcoming our little guy eathside and helping us postpartum.

Having her by our side during labour helped me to stay focused and feel confident advocating for Mom when it mattered most. She anticipated when I needed support - yes the birth partner needs support too - and was able to help me be at my best. Her compassionate heart is boundless, her knowledge of labour is vast, I feel very lucky to have had her with us on our birth journey.

I’m finding this review hard to write because it feels like such a big thing… Stephanie was such a strong and important part of my entire prenatal, postnatal and birthing experience that it is hard to put into words. I cannot sing her praises enough; she gave me confidence in the months leading up to birth by helping to ease my fears, giving me words of wisdom, listening to my concerns… She is at once calm, cool and collected but also so approachable and friendly that I felt comfortable with her within minutes of our first meeting. She has been an amazing resource in my postpartum period, and I’m so grateful for her continued support.

Stephanie has the personality, knowledge and willingness to devote herself to her clients that allow her to be an amazing birth doula. I am so incredibly thankful she was at my birth. She helped keep things light and progressing in early labour (with her awesome doula techniques and knowledge, I felt like it was helping me progress) and then being such a rock for myself and husband when things started to get intense. She is respectful, honest and strong, and she was willing to advocate with kindness and tact for me and my birth preferences, as well as for my husband and his role as my birth partner. I truly believe I would not have been able to get through my birth with as much grace as I did without Stephanie there to hold my hand, squeeze my hips, tell me I was strong and safe, reassure my husband that we could get through this… Amazing. Thank you so much Stephanie.

I had a post Patrum planning session with Stephanie. It was absolutely wonderful to make a plan of supports for after baby was born BEFORE bbay was actually here. I felt that post partum care was needed as this was my second child and my first I felt completely alone and had PPD. I wanted to be more prepared and better equipped with people in my support system. My support people now know there is a booklet that has some helpful tips if they notice something is off from me or what they can suggest to help me cope (yeah bubble baths). Having the plan allows all of us to know what we can all do, without me wanting people to "read my mind on what I want".  I feel very confidant that my PPD will be lessened this time or even not have it, as the plan, as simple and easy as it was to do, is set out.

Stephanie was very understanding and nurturing in me being open about my PPD and I never felt judged for my decisions I made as a parent. She asked my questions and I answered and she made the plan so easy to do. I highly recommend other women to make a post partum plan with Staphanie, it only takes an hour or so of your time and you get the support of an amazing woman.

I'm a first time mom so I was new to the whole pregnancy and birthing experience. Stephanie was kind, knowledge and helpful from start to finish. I was able to call or text her with any questions or concerns I had during pregnancy and after birth at any time. I would highly recommend Stephanie to anyone considering a doula, she's amazing.
