Above and beyond our expectations!

We cannot thank Suzanne enough for everything she did for us. This recovery has been a 180 from my first baby and was the exact reason we decided to get a doula. She blew our expectations out of the water. I 100% can say I would not have done it without her there by my side. I doubted myself the entire time on wether I could do this naturally and even when I wanted to back out she was consistent, reassuring and believed in me even when I didn’t.

My husband is so blown away with how different this experience was from our first baby. He says now he thinks it ridiculous that everyone can’t have a doula and he feels this profession should be funded by alberta health and a doula should be a staple in all delivery rooms! 

We can’t thank suzanne enough, she is a major part of our birth story and we will forever remember having her there and what she did for us ??????

Suzanne went above and beyond her role, and the experience of the birth of our second daughter would not have been the positive experience that it was without her. I was 39 years old during my pregnancy, and at 38 weeks I was induced because of preeclampsia. It was scary because my husband was out of town and I didn’t feel ready. Suzanne accompanied me from the time I had the blood test that confirmed preeclampsia, until our daughter was born…the next day! She stayed by my side all night and advised me through all the decisions that had to be made along the way AND made sure my husband made it home (from St-John’s NL, to Edmonton!) on time to see our daughter be born. That is going above and beyond! Thank goodness Suzanne has great friends at Westjet AND she was willing to call upon them for help to make sure my husband got to the hospital on time. That was one of his biggest fears, having to work out of town, and she was persistent in making sure we could stick as close as possible to our birth plan. Many things medically didn’t go the way I had hoped, but thanks to Suzanne, I felt well accompanied and remained (mostly!) calm during the process. She worked extremely well with the medical staff that was at the hospital and it made me feel safe and taken care of throughout the birth of our daughter.

Suzanne carried her role even after birth when my milk supply wasn’t enough for our daughter. She came to my home and connected me with an outstanding lactation consultant who helped me work through this hurdle.

Suzanne is a caring, professional, knowledgeable and experienced Doula, and I highly recommend her services to any expecting mother and families. You will be glad you had the chance to have her in your life for such an important event.

If you live in Edmonton, then why wouldn't you want to choose the best that trains the best as your Doula. My first child was born via C section because he was breech. After hearing such great things about Suzanne from my brother and sister in law I knew I had to have her be my doula to hope to have a successful VBAC for my second child. I truly feel if it wasn't for her and her wealth of knowledge I most likely would have ended up in an emergency c section but I didn't. I had a successful VBAC with Suzanne's guidance and am forever grateful. She will provide you with love, support, knowledge, respect and kindness through one of the most intense experiences of your life and for my husband and I it was priceless. We are excited to be having her by our side once again for the birth of our third child due in May!

I cannot express my gratitude to have Suzanne as my doula during my very long labour (she was literally with me for 3 days!). Her coaching, supporting and encouragement during my labour was beyond amazing for both me, my partner and my mom.  We all felt safe, supported, secure and heard during a very special moment for our family. If your looking for a doula, look no further!

Suzanne was amazing! She was increadibly knowledgeable and provided valuable information and insight catered to our own unique experience that could not be replicated by any other source. She provided increadible support to both my husband and myself throughout our pregnancy, labour and delivery and ensured our experience was a positive one. Doctors and nurses can not provide the valuable one-one-one support every expectant family needs and we highly recommended her services!

If you are looking for a birth doula count yourself lucky if you can snatch up Suzanne!  She was such a valuable part of mine and my husbands birth experience that if we didn't have her it would have been a lot harder. Suzanne brought a calm and gentle presence to our birth with just the right amount of assertiveness.  The amount of knowledge that she has is incredible, and her experience shows. Right from the first time that we met Suzanne my husband and I felt a connection with her which carried through until the end. She puts you first and does everything she can to make sure you get the birth experience that you desire. During my labour Suzanne was very helpful to make sure I was comfortable and had many techniques to help reduce pain. My husband is so thankful to have had her gentle guidance as to how he could support me through the process. We would definitely recommend Suzanne to anyone looking for a birth doula, as we would definitely have her a part of our next birth experience!

When my husband and I first met Suzanne we immediately felt as ease with her. She brought and warmth and compassion to our experience that we didnt have with our first pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage. Suzanne was also vital in avoiding a c-section. My OB was insistent on one when it was not necessary. She gave me the courage to fight for my rights and to know I was not alone. I would highly recommend having Suzanne at your birth, she will go to bat for you.

My husband and I cannot express how vital Suzanne was to our birth team. She was so supportive and informative throughout the whole process of planning our home birth and through all my prodromal labour episodes. Her humour, grace and encouragement were key factors to both my and my husbands ability to endure 22 hours of natural labouring. There is no bigger chearleader, no more amazing birth coach and no better Doula than Suzanne in my opinion. She is a apart of our family now.

Suzanne was wonderful to work with from beginning to end. She was supportive and positive in our prenatal meetings. At the birth, she was such an asset. We had a planned home birth attended by a midwife. Suzanne took lead on keeping our midwife up to date so my husband and I really got to focus on enjoying labour- no worrying about when to call! When active labour got more challenging Suzanne was so helpful - she just knew how to help! She also kept track of what time important things happened which was great because I didn't pay attention at all!

I found it so reassuring to have such an experienced doula present. We had such a beautiful birth and I'm so grateful for the part that Suzanne played in it.

Having Suzanne by my wife’s side through pregnancy and birth was educational, comforting and reassurng. We wanted to make sure that my wife had the support she needed and that this was not dependent on how well I handled the experience. It took the pressure off of me and my wife was never in doubt that she would have the support when the time came. This made the entire experience so much better. In fact, we asked Suzanne to be there for our second child even though we new what to expect  We couldn’t imagine doing it without her.

My husband said it perfectly: we were the two rookies, she was the veteran. Having Suzanne guide me through the birth of my daughter made my experience beautifully memorable and incredibly empowering. The most important factor for my husband and I was that we had never gone through this before! It was so important for us to have Suzanne guide us through our experience with her knowledge and her calming personality. I truly believe that Suzanne's presence was what kept me calm through labour at home and made me confident while delivering at the hospital. I am forever grateful to her for having been an essential part of the team that helped me bring my daughter into this world.

Having Suzanne around the week prior to my birth was invaluable.  She advocated for me when my plan changed drastically to ensure that I got the best treatment for me.  I was feeling so low and defeated, Suzanne reminded me that I was allowed to speak up.  Her support during birth was also appreciated.

I was so greatful to have Suzanne by my side for the birth of my daughter. I have a lot of anxiety but felt at ease having Suzanne there to help my husband and myself. I went into labor on Christmas day and gave birth on Boxing day. Suzanne made sure I was as comfortable as possible and coached my husband to be the best birth partner possible. Without her I may have had to be induced ( which I did not want) and I would have had an epidural (which I also did not want) I wouldnt hesitate to use Suzanne again.
