I cannot express how grateful I am for the incredible support provided by Heather during the birth of my second child, which was a VBAC. After the trauma of my first birth experience, I was anxious about attempting labor again and of the risks associated with a VBAC. But, from the moment we began working together, Heather brought a sense of calm and empowerment that helped frame my mindset for the pregnancy and birth. She gave me knowledge of how to have the best outcome and confidence to have the experience that I truly desired.
Heather was there every step of the way, creating a safe, serene environment that allowed me to focus entirely on the taks at hand. While I was focusing on my breathing, she preparing the room and shower with twinkle lights, transforming the hospital room into a peaceful haven that felt like home. She reminded me of my affirmations and hung pictures that I brought of my first child where I could see them. One of the nurses was so excited to get to see her at work and experience an unmedicated birth, that they switched rooms to be with us.
What truly stands out though, is how she protected my focus and my birth experience. She was my advocate, ensuring that the staff respected my wishes, so that I could stay centered. This wasn't just invaluable to me but to my husband so he could be fully present, focusing on supporting me without worrying about anything else. She also made sure that someone was taking pictures so I get to see the moment I pulled him into my arms!
Her support wasn't just about the birth itself; it was about healing past trauma and reclaiming my power. I can't imagine having gone through this experince without her, and I will forever be grateful for the calm, strength, and confidence she brought into that room. If you're looking for someone that will make you feel seen, heard, and supported in every way, she's the doula you need.

Heather is the ultimate mother's doula. She keeps her focus on all things mamma. My husband was apprehensive about hiring a doula, but after speaking with Heather, he understood that her role was not designed to take away from his role in the labor. She guided him on the best ways to support me as I brought our babies earth side. He will now be the first to tell anyway that we will never have another baby without Heather there!
My first birth was in hospital. The attending physician was not natural friendly and was pushing (pun intended) interventions from the moment walked through the door. Heather continued to forward my husband and me evidence based research articles with nonbiased information to help us make decisions that aligned with our values.
Heather is an advocate, a source of empowerment, a resource connector, a birth rights expert, the epitome of a woman's woman, and now one of my dear friends.
YOU NEED HER ON YOUR TEAM!

After having Heather as my doula for my first birth, I cannot imagine what it would have been like without her. In addition to her being a kind, warm, calming presence, she was incredibly knowledgeable and provided valuable resources to help my husband and I make informed decisions. Heather’s communication was wonderful! She was reliable, easy to reach, and frequently reached out to check on us well after my daughter’s birth. Thanks to Heather’s guidance and support, I felt empowered and prepared for birth. During my birth, she was amazing! She did so much to make my room a positive atmosphere, provide reassuring support, and help guide my husband so he knew how to support me.

I cannot recommend Heather enough as a birth doula! I was a first time mom planning a homebirth and Heather went above and beyond for me during my 70+ hour labor at 42 weeks to a beautiful healthy baby boy (9lbs, 12 oz). From the minute I called Heather, she showed up quickly at my home and didn't leave my side until baby arrived - her presence was so calming and reassuring as I had been in early labor with irregular contractions for 2 days and wasn't sure if it was the real deal. When I needed help getting into active labor she gently encouraged me into the positions and offered herbal tinctures that would get me closer to meeting my baby and they worked!! Once I moved into active labor, baby was here in no time. Heather provided hands on support, including a ton of counter pressure to help me through the toughest contractions and reassuring words of affirmation. Having an experienced doula like Heather really made the difference for me at my home birth as I was really exhausted and was begging to go to the hospital for the epidural by the time I entered active labor but Heather guided me to the exact positions that made labor easier and assisted baby to get in the right position. You'll be so glad you worked with Heather, she truly is a master doula!
As a first time mom, I really had no idea what to expect for giving birth and Heather took the time to help me prepare for my birth, tune into what I wanted my experience to be like, and then she guided me through the birth process with wisdom, empathy, and expert skill. I will never forget my birth with Heather attending - it was truly the most magical experience of my life! I'll definitely hire her again for my next birth.
Also, I highly recomend the placenta encapsulation - I'm 2.5 weeks post partum and I've had zero post partum anxiety or blues. Just feeling calm and peaceful as I bond with my sweet baby.

Heather has been there for all three of my births - and I wouldn't have it any other way! She is truly one of the most supportive individuals and so knowledgeable!
At my third birth, I reached 10cm but baby was still high up. She suggested, rather than pushing for who knows how long, to continue to rest and let my body do what it knows how to do! It made it so much easier and much less exhausting.
Heather is just about always available for a quick text to ask a question and a phone call away. She helped guide me through writing my birth plan and navigating the world of labor and delivery!
If you don't have a doula - get Heather! I promise that you will never regret it.

Our experience with Heather was absolutely phenomenal. I am easily annoyed especially in a stressful situation (such as child birth) and not one time during our delivery did she hit a nerve. She brings a calming atmosphere and demeanor. Our birth experience was one for the books and could NOT imagine doing it without Heather. She was very accepting of me and my wife and I would recommend her to any single mom or couple!

I'm a first time mom, so naturally I had a fear of the unknown. I've done tons of research on my own about pregnancy, birth and postpartum, but you really don't know it all until you have a Doula by your side. And truly, having a Doula physically with you during birth to help calm your nerves (and your partners) is amazing. Heather Felder is all those things and more. She's a wealth of knowledge when it comes to birthing babies. She'll give you all the tools you need to make informed decisions on HOW you want your birth to look like (even if it doesn't go as planned). She'll be by your side while in labor and never leave til your breastfeeding your little one. She'll be sure all the hospital staff know your wishes so you can focus on what's important, your labor. And what's more, she'll even sneak some amazing little pics during and after so you have those memories forever! All that and it doesn't stop there. She checks on you sometime 6 weeks postpartum and she'll even preserve your placenta or cord! Heather is the best and if my husband and I have a second, she'll be with us again!

I had the pleasure of witnessing Heather's work while my sister gave birth to her third baby. She was extremely kind, she worked closely and professionally with nurses and doctors, as well as my sister, to make sure she had the best experience possible. She helped move my sister around the room to make sure she was comfortable, she made the room into a sanctuary and a safe place my sister would feel relaxed in. Most importantly, she helped coach my sister through the hardest parts of labor and delivery with such an ease, it really was amazing to be a part of it all. Though she was not my doula first hand, I would highly recommend her to anyone who is looking. She is exactly what I would want in a doula and what I personally believe most women need during such a huge transition of life. She truly gave us the perfect experience.

My experience with Heather was nothing short of amazing. Heather was not only super attentive to my hopes and wishes, but brought so much insight, advice and experience to the table. I had a pretty specific plan in mind for my birth, which Heather and I discussed at length. She validated my hopes for my birth, and did everything she could to help make sure that happened for me. Whether that was setting the tone in the labor/delivery room with ambiance, essential oils, music or conversation or providing me words of encouragement and advocating for me. She made sure I was well prepared and setup for success. She helped me understand all of my options and how to advocate for myself. But she also made sure to let me know that she could advocate for me. And she really did! I felt so supported, so comforted. I can honestly say that my beautiful birth couldn't have happened the way it did without her. My baby was born with some unexpected health concerns. Heather even stayed around for several hours after the birth to make sure that I wasn't alone while my husband went with our baby to the NICU. Having that kind of support was invaluable. And I am eternally grateful for everything that she brought to the table. I would recommend Heather 1,000 times over. She is incredible!!

Heather is such an amazing doula!!! She helped me to have the birth I wanted for my last baby. One of my favorite things about having her at my birth was that she was able to provide me with the physical support while I was in labor, so that my husband was able to be the emotional support that I needed. She is incredibly knowlegable about all of the different options that are available to laboring mamas (which I had no idea about! I thought it was just "what the hospital says, goes") as well as alternative ways to provide physical relief and positioning. She was also incredibly supportive when my baby needed to go to the NICU after her birth for breathing complications. She stayed with me the entire time so that my husband could be with our baby. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing doula!!!

Having Heather as a doula was such a good decision for me. She is incredibly knowledgeable and has many valuable tools to assist you In your birth. She helps you to decide what kind of birth you want and does not push any ideas of what she thinks it should be.
Heather helped me to achieve the unmedicated birth I had hoped for. She gently reminded me to relax and helped ease my pain through the most intense parts of my labor.
I highly recommend Heather to anyone!

I will never forget the day Heather walked into myroom. Cutting through exhaustion and brain fog, this palpable peace flowed in with her. She is strong and steady, yet comforting and full of love. Her heart is truly for the mothers that she works for. Heather encapsulated my placenta, as well as made placenta prints. She takes GREAT care in how she handles and prepares each placenta. Her art is truly unique to each placenta and mother. Anyone who works with Heather is sure to be blessed by her.

Heather was absolutely wonderful! From the moment she pulled up to my house she was a calming presence, I’m not sure how she managed to be so encouraging and peaceful at the same time. But really my fav part about having Heather as my doula was all the support prenatally, she tought us some pain relief techniques that literally took the pain away even minutes before my daughter emerged. Anything I had questions about she provided evidence based information. I loved having Heather with me during my pregnancy, birth and postpartum. You will too!

Heather was a wonderful resource. I went into it not really having a plan other than "healthy mom, healthy baby" and Heather helped me to refine that into a birth plan. She was available to answer questions all through the pregnancy and stayed with us through the majority of 15 hours of labor and delivery. I never want to have a baby without her there! She helped with being mindful of staying relaxed through labor and with positioning to keep me comfortable. I cannot recommend her enough! If you're in the Birmingham area, get Heather as your doula!

I knew within a few minutes of meeting Heather that I wanted her to be our doula for the birth of our first baby. She has such a calming presence, which is exactly what I needed. Not only is she incredibly genuine, but she has this way of making you feel extremely comfortable around her and at ease. She is very knowledgeable, patient, and met me and my husband exactly where we were at, all of which we were very grateful for. Heather supported me during my pregnancy, during the birthing process and after our baby was born. Her presence during each of these times was priceless. I highly recommend Heather and will absolutely use her again if we are lucky enough to have another baby. Thank you, Heather, for being there for us in such a wonderful, yet vulnerable and overwhelming time. We are incredibly grateful for you and all of your knowledge, love, and support!

I absolutely loved my experience with Heather Felder! She truly is a joy to work with! I never felt pressured, I always felt I was heard, I thought we connected well, and she made me feel secure. She was always available for me, and she even went with me to my ECV appt b/c she knew it was foreign to me, and I was scared. Heather helped me stand up for myself, when I felt pressured by my OB...and for that, I’m eternally grateful! I can never repay Heather, for what she did for our family! I only hope I can return the favor of being a wonderful friend, as she has done with me! I will recommend her to anyone who wants/needs a doula b/c she was unbelievable, and Alabama mamas need to know they have options.

Heather was the most supportive and attentive doula I could've asked for. She encouraged me through the whole pregnancy to have a positive view of my birth and ultimately helped me accomplish the birth I hoped for. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
