As this was our first pregnancy, we didn't know where to begin in our preparations for childbirth. That is, until we found Stephanie! As they say, everyone's birth story is different, but with Stephanie's guidance, we felt ready to make the right decisions for us no matter where our birth journey took us. Her dedication to her clients is evident from her undivided attention to her wealth of knowledge and resources to the multiple certifications she holds. She truly wants what is best for her clients.

Stephanie was the best doula we could ever imagine. At the beginning my husband was very hesitated about hiring a doula because of our tight budget, and he was not sure how a doula would be able to help us in the delivery room. But after the whole 39 hours of labor and delivery, we are confident to say that Stephanie was worth every penny. My husband was impressed by how she stayed up with me the whole time when we were in the hospital which was 24 hours), so he could take naps. She was there when I was in so much pain, she brought her tense unit, and was doing the double hip squeeze to me whenever a contraction hit. She helped me made the decision to get an epidural when I needed it the most. I couldn't do it without her being there.

I can honestly say that my birth wouldn’t have gone the way I wanted without Stephanie. She is meant to be a doula, and she’s completely devoted to her role. In addition to being a genuine and authentic birth support person, she also provides a wealth of information about all things birth, baby, and nursing. She prepared my partner and me for emergencies with cpr, she taught us how to use a car seat, and she ran through birthing scenarios with us so that we would all be on the same page about my birth plan. Stephanie came to the hospital prepared with anything I’d need for laboring positions, and she helped me find the ones that were the best for me in the various stages of labor. After the baby was born, she stayed with us and helped me with making sure the baby latched well and we were taken care of before they took us to the maternity ward. I felt more equipped and had less fear around birth because Stephane was with us through the entire process.
My birthing experience was better by choosing to include Stephanie. Long before and even after I had my baby, I know Stephanie is available and will be a welcome part of our lives. I’m so grateful that she is part of my birth journey and story!

Stephanie was amazing to work with for the birth of our first baby & I would highly recommend!
PREP
She helped me prepare for all the possibilities of what to expect in labor, what options I would have, and what sacrifices I might be making based on my choices. She provided several handouts to help prepare us. She also helped prep us by ensuring our car seats were installed correctly and that we knew how to properly secure baby into them. Lastly, she gave a hands on infant CPR demo of how we should conduct CPR in case of emergency with baby after we brought him home.
L & D
Once it was determined by my midwife that I needed an induction, Stephanie was helpful in explaining pros/cons associated with the different induction methods and how my labor experience might differ from my original plan. She was available for consults late at night from the hospital and was promptly there early in the morning 2 days in a row as I went through the induction process. When it came time for labor she helped to keep me moving and in positions that would help baby move down even after I was relegated to the bed (due to mag for high BP) - she's well aware of all the positions the hospital bed can contort into! I leveraged her TENS for pain management which allowed me to avoid an epidural and made labor seem less painful. She was instrumental at reading my body cues and letting my husband know when it was "time" so he could alert the midwife and nurses. Labor went smoothly due to the patience, tools, and guidance from Stephanie.
POST DELIVERY
Stephanie shared detailed notes with timestamps of everything that happened during labor and recapped for me why certain things were done by my care team that I didn't understand in the midst of delivery. She also provided handouts on nursing, breast milk storage, etc. and guided us on how to give baby his first bath!

Stephanie was an amazing resource for us before, during and after the birth of our daughter. She is extremely responsive and happy to answer any questions. Early on, we had a somewhat concerning finding from one of my doctors (baby was measuring small), and Stephanie got on a call with us to explain all the possibilities and reassure us. Her birth planning and infant first aid classes were great as well. During the birth, she was so supportive and helped me get through the first half of my labor with no meds using the tens unit, positioning, and a lot of encouragement! When I ended up needing a c section, she reassured us that we'd done everything we could and helped me be at peace with having a higher intervention birth than I'd planned. After the birth, she has continued to check in on me and connected me to helpful resources. I highly recommend her!

Hiring Stephanie to be my doula during the birth of my first child was the best decision I made. Stephanie is not only kind and attentive to her client's needs she is also a highly experienced and trained professional who will give you the much needed moral support and knowledgable advice. The car seat and infant CPR training she provided my husband and I were extremely helpful. During my labor she was my biggest support. She held my hand through the entire 44hr labor. She was there to give my husband some much needed rest as well. She helped me try different positions while I was pushing even though I was on epidural. That helped a lot and also increased my morale. I highly recommend Stephanie as a doula. She has become a part of our family now.

Stephanie is a fantastic Doula with a lot of experience. My husband and I had our first child and we could not have found a better Doula than Stephanie to guide us through our journey. Stephanie set up 2 video calls and 2 in-person sessions before birth. She shared fantastic recommendations for hospitals (we ended up giving birth in Wellstar North Fulton based on her recommendation and were absolutely happy with the choice), lactation consultants, PTs, pediatricians, and books to read in preparation. We followed Stephanie's recommendations and they were all great.
During the in-person preparation sessions, Stephanie taught us everything we needed to know to feel prepared for birth and the choices we would face, the process of giving birth and how to breathe and work through pain, and even small things that we would not have thought about, like how to set up the car seat or perform CPR in emergencies. At one point, I went from feeling anxious about giving birth to saying, "Now I believe we can do this", just because Stephanie's in-person session gave us a sense of control and preparedness.
On the day, Stephanie came straight to the hospital and immediately bonded with the hospital staff and worked tirelessly through the whole night, helping me relieve pain and coach us through the experience. She never stopped giving me relieving hip squeezes, and telling me how to breathe. I was so happy to have her around!
After birth, Stephanie came to our house and agreed to look after our son for some time while my husband and I went out for a date, even though it was not part of the usual postpartum visit program.
Overall, I could not have been happier with Stephanie's help and support. She is a wonderful Doula and I absolutely recommend to hire her.

Stephanie was an invaluable resource for myself and my husband during my pregnancy! She was easy to talk to, answered all of my questions and helped me think through things I didn't realize I should be prepared for (but glad I was). She was very supportive of my decisions and I was glad she was there for me during the delivery.

Hiring Stephanie to be our doula was one of the best investments my husband I made. We were expecting our first baby, and Stephanie was fantastic. Not only did she teach us all about what to expect during labor and the inverventions we might have to navigate, but she responded quickly to any questions we had (text/call). Most importantly, Stephanie was with us during the 2+ days of labor. I got induced, and Stephanie arrived shortly after to the hospital. She stayed up all night with me, in an uncomfortable recliner (that didn't recline!) and guided me through what was happening, as well as did anything I needed her to do to help me get more comfortable. She helped me breathe through the contractions on the medicine ball, she fed me ice chips after I got the epidural, and she was right there supporting my legs along with my husband and the nurses and midwife during active delivery. Stephanie made my delivery experience an incredibly memorable and positive one. Without her I would have been so much more anxious and scared. But she made me feel confident and ready and strong to push through (literally). I would recommend Stephanie in a heart beat! My husband I are so grateful for her.

After a traumatic first birth with no doula, I was looking for someone to support me during my second pregnancy and delivery. Stephanie was the perfect choice! She is a great listener and considered my needs every step of the way. Though I considered an unmedicated birth and ultimately decided on an epidural, she did not make me feel guilty or judged. She was happy with whatever choice I made, and she was able to provide information along the way to help me make the right decision. She even helped us transition to the postpartum room while I was still unable to walk. Having an extra set of hands there in addition to so much knowledge and support was a huge boon to my mental health and physical health!

We were so grateful to have Stephanie by our side for our son's birth. Stephanie was wonderful with the hospital staff and very supportive of our decisions as we navigated an unexpectedly long and complicated delivery. Her prenatal classes were extremely helpful, and we hired her for postpartum help too (don't underestimate the power of just having someone sit by your side and coach you through early breastfeeding sessions!) Thank you, Stephanie!

I'm so grateful we had the opportunity to take the infant CPR class with Stephanie. She came to our home and set up everything for us, which was super convenient for our family. We did a parent and grandparent group class. We walked through our (cumbersome) car seat installation and she was very patient and ensured we all understood exactly how it worked. Then, we learned how to help an infant with CPR and choking. The hands-on practice with mannequins was very helpful and much preferred over taking a virtual CPR class. Her prices are great for what you'll receive, and definitely worth every penny. I'd recommend this class to anyone who will ever come in contact with a baby! :)

Stephanie was a great resource, and she spent a lot of time answering our questions and worked with what we had in our house. The information was helpful and covered a wide variety of topics. We feel much better having spent time with Stephanie covering the basics for infant care!

My experience with Stephanie was wonderful. She was open, communicative and just what I was looking for. I had a traumatic first pregnancy and birth resulting in c-section. I had a second pregnancy in the heart of Covid (2020) where I was able to have a successful VBAC, however I found my delivery to still be stressful and anxiety provoking. I knew with this being my last baby that I really wanted to have a delivery that was calm and stress free. Stephanie helped me achieve just that. Having her guide me through contractions made me feel supported and able to advocate for myself with what I wanted. I ended up having an unmedicated VBAC. She helped me identify my needs and establish a birth plan. My delivery was everything I could have imagined and more. I would recommend Stephanie's doulas services to any expecting mother- whether you are a first time mom or this is a subsequent pregnancy.

I hired Stephanie for the birth of my son. My desire was to have an unmedicated/intervention free (or as low intervention as possible) hospital birth. I knew having a doula to support me would help me feel confident achieving that goal. Stephanie has such a warm and calming presence. She was there every step of the way to help me navigate through all my preparations and appointments. She helped me create a detailed birth plan by talking through various scenarios and working through how to make informed decisions. She was always quick with a response to any question I had and was always genuinely interested in updates I sent her. On my baby's due date, my OB advised having my water broken due to low amniotic fluid. I cried in the doctor's office thinking all my hopes for my birth had gone out the window. Stephanie was able to calm me down and reassure me that I was still in control. I ended up having a beautiful birth without any medication or additional interventions despite my water being broken. I felt calm, strong, and in control. When I look back on the day, things could not have gone better given the circumstances. Stephanie is a CPST and will help ensure your carseats are properly installed. She also is certified to provide CPR traning and gave my husband and I a refreher on infant and child CPR. She really makes you feel like you have someone in your corner every step of the way and helps you feel prepared for birth and beyond. Aside from being a very knowledgable and compassionate doula, she is a kind person with a big heart. She thanked us multiple times throughout our time working together for letting her be part of such a big moment in our lives. You can tell she loves this work and that she truly feels honored to be a part of every birth she supports. Stephanie will support you in whatever your goals are, and will help you feel empowered and informed. Going forward, I know I have a friend to turn to and I know we'll be in touch.

I'm a second time mom and knew I wanted support during my postpartum period. I am so glad that I found Stephanie and partnered with her as my postpartum doula. She helped me for 12 weeks with daily tasks like laundry and meal prep, as well as newborn care. She also helped me with my older child. We all loved Stephanie! She made the fourth trimester easier on the entire family- even the cat. She was helpful with breastfeeding and also general support during that difficult transition. I would highly recommend her to any mom to be!

Stephanie was such a great resource during my pregnancy and postpartum journey. We did her infant CPR and choking course and the car seat verification and instruction. Both were awesome and really helped us feel prepared going into parenthood. Her postpartum doula services were a life saver. I was literally on the doorstep waiting for her arrival as we were inexperienced and sleep deprived. Hiring a postpartum doula was the best decision we made and choosing Stephanie was a no brainer. Her experience and kindness were amazing and she was such a great resource and had some much information readily available. She helped my husband and I feel like we could make it through the newborn stage. Highly recommend Stephanie for any Doula services you may need!

Stephanie was fantastic! She was an integral part of my successful VBAC and was there and ready throughout my labor to assist with helpful tricks and recommendations or to sit back and let me stay in my zone. She is super responsive and prompt. I always knew that if I texted, I'd hear back from her usually within an hour. I also loved our prenatal meetings (as did my toddler son). She does a great job of helping you prepare for different options within birth and also teaches you infant cpr as well as making sure that your car seat is safely installed and that you know how to seat baby properly. She is highly qualified and a genuinely wonderful person to boot!

My experience with Ms. Stephanie was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. Stephanie was very informative on everything. If I had a question about anything, she had answers and had information to back it up. I never once felt that she wasn't there for me. I enjoyed our in home appointments she always came with great information and goodies to keep for myself to read over. When it came down to the birth of my little one she was my rock right along with my husband. She kept me sane, calm, and kept me on track with my birth plan that we had discussed. We definitely would love to have her again for our next baby. Thank you Ms. Stephanie we love you!

what an experience! This was my first natural non mediated planned birth so I knew I would need as much support as I could get. I knew Stephanie would be our doula after our first conversation. I loved how she supported every little decision I made with no judgment. I'm a third time Mama and I learned SO MUCH from Stephanie about giving birth, that I didn't know before. The amount of information she provided, gave me so much more confidence in my decisions. It was a beautiful experience and so much of that goes to Stephanie. Thank you so much!

After discovering I was pregnant, I knew I wanted to be as informed as possible about pregnancy, birth, postpartum and nursing. I started to look for a doula and I knew I wanted Stephanie to help me with this journey after our first meeting. She answered any question I had throughout my pregnancy, even little things. She was so helpful, informative, and would calm any anxieties I had. I learned so much about the birthing process, as did my husband, and we both felt very prepared for delivery. Stephanie was such a great coach through the whole process, I felt like she listened to me and included my husband. We had a very informed birth plan. She was a wonderful advocate for me and my baby, even when things didn't go as planned (as they often do). Her support throughout pregnancy and postpartum was invaluable! And she remembers milestones like my daughters first birthday :) I couldn't have gone through my pregnancy and delivery without her! Thank you so much Stephanie!

I found out I was pregnant with my fourth pregnancy shortly after my second miscarriage. With all of the anxiety and worry that comes with pregnancy after loss, I knew that if I was lucky enough to carry that baby to term, I wanted a doula by my side during labor and delivery. My first birth also followed a miscarriage and while it had a happy ending, the labor and delivery experience felt terrifying to me. I finally had a happy, healthy baby, but I didn't trust my body. I was scared of labor and giving birth. Stephanie and I connected through Atlanta Birth Doula and I felt an immediate connection to her with our first Zoom call. Her warmth and kindness made me feel like I was talking with an old friend. From 30 weeks on, Stephanie was virtually by my side, cheering me on after every nerve wracking prenatal appointment. She reassured me, celebrated with me, and empathized with me when I worried about my rainbow baby. Stephanie helped educate me and my husband about the labor and delivery process and truly helped me trust my body for the first time since before my miscarriages. When the time came to give birth, Stephanie was right there with her calm, confident presence, reassuring me that baby was okay and that I could achieve the fear-free birth I so desired. She helped empower me to labor unmedicated and empowered my husband to help support me. I will never forget how it felt to have her celebrate with me when my rainbow baby was finally in my arms. In the postpartum period, Stephanie has supported me through various breastfeeding struggles and postpartum anxiety both virtually and in person. It has been absolutely incredible to have that postpartum support. Working with Stephanie was the best decision and I am so happy to have her in my life! I imagine that our family is complete, but if I were to have another baby, I would want Stephanie there every step of the way. Thank you, Stephanie.

We hired Stephanie as our doula for the birth of our first child. We appreciated her preparation for the initial interview, her inclusion of both parents as important in the birthing process, and her availability throughout the entire pregnancy and months after our child was born. Stephanie's knowledge and experience allowed us to identify what we desired out of our birth experience while introducing us to a variety of scenarios that could occur so we could process and pre-decide what we would like to happen in those scenarios. Stephanie has an impressive toolkit of items to aid in the birthing process. She kept in touch to find out how our appointments were going and after what turned out to be our last appointment before giving birth, her intuition had us ready to go into labor even while the doctors were predicting another few days. We had a precipitous labor and Stephanie's flexibility was a blessing since she ended up having to meet us at the hospital closest to our house instead of the hospital where we'd planned to deliver. Although our child was born before she arrived (it was less than 2 hours from when we woke up with the first painful contraction to when we held our child in our arms), she still came to the hospital and stayed to offer amazing post-partum care. Even now, she checks on our family and celebrates our child's milestones. She is always willing to answer our questions no matter the frequency, redundancy, or way we ask them. We truly appreciate her availability and willingness to still offer support to our family. We feel confident that we can still reach out to her when we need advice (can you say infant sleep regression?!). So, all of this is to say that we highly recommend Stephanie as a doula. Her presence made a difference in how prepared, comfortable, and confident we approached and concluded our birthing experience. Bonus: she always told us how grateful she is for us opening up our lives to her!

We hired Stephanie as our doula in Spring of 2020. After interviewing several doulas, it was clear that Stephanie was the most prepared, the most professional (had certifications readily available, etc) and was the quickest to respond.
Stephanie was a HUMONGOUS help, even before labor. Any questions I had, she responded to immediately and gave good advice.
She supported our decisions and wants without question. Although I am sure our philosophies differed on some issues (I mean, who has the exact same idea concerning birth?), I only ever felt support from Stephanie. My first labor (no doula) and this one were night and day different. Stephanie's presence made the overall experience positive and empowering. Her coaching helped me through contractions. She eased my husband's concerns when he was worried about different aspects of labor. She got along well with hospital staff. Although it ended in an emergency C-section, Stephanie was worth every penny!

My husband and I couldn’t have been happier with Stephanie. She was our doula for the birth of our first child in July of 2019. She was fantastic support from day one. It was great to be able to ask her questions – sometimes you aren’t sure if what you’re experiencing is worth bothering your doctor about, but you still want answers or assurance.
Stephanie spent a lot of time with us preparing, working on our birth plan, answering questions, and discussing scenarios. We often went over our time in our appointments with her, but she never made us feel rushed, like we had to stop before we had all the answers we needed.
As it turns out, our birth plan went out the window: I went into labor two and a half weeks early. I was in labor for 17 hours. My epidural stopped working twice. And during active labor, my daughter’s heart rate dropped – we almost had to have an emergency C-section. Throughout every new curveball we got thrown, Stephanie was there to be a calming presence, help me breathe and focus, and during the long downtime allow my husband to step out for food without feeling like he was leaving me alone. It was also extremely helpful that we had already discussed all kinds of contingency plans and put them into a document so we didn’t need to worry about what to do in moments of panic or pain.
Additionally, Stephanie also was a great help during my post-partum period. I had lots of little issues – again, the sort of thing that I wondered if it was something that warranted calling my doctor. It was nice to be able to have someone to call for advice when I was sleep-deprived and stressed out from being a brand-new mom.
I would definitely recommend Stephanie as a doula, and if my husband and I have another baby, we will absolutely be calling on her.

We are very fortunate to have Stephanie as our doula. I was stressed after delivering the little one, and often felt clueless when the little started to cry or fuzz. Stephanie was so knowledgable and emotionally supportive. She could fix problems easily and share with us tricks, and talking to her could always make me feel much better. She is really good with my baby and we kept asking for her help even as my little one turns over six months now. Stephanie is really flexible, and she always tries to come and help us out. I would definitely recommend her to all my friends.

Stephanie is a wonderful doula to work with! I decided to hire a doula for the birth of our second child. Our experience with our first birth was very rushed, and I felt out of control and overwhelmed, so hiring a doula for our second child was new to my husband and I. Stephanie was very thorough in explaining her support role to us and had everything in writing, printed out, and ready to hand to us or email, which was so hopeful (because pregnancy brain!). There were no surprises or confusing moments in the birth of our daughter because Stephanie was so well prepared. When my daughter flipped breach two weeks before her due date, Stephanie reminded me of her supportive role, regardless of whether my intended natural birth ended in a cesarean or not, she would still be there to help! Thankfully, baby flipped around and I was able to labor naturally, with the help of my husband and Stephanie. Stephanie was always very careful to not overstep boundaries or take too much part in her role, allowing my husband to be my primary helper (which is what we wanted after our tough experience in the birth of our first child). Her techniques, the use of her TENS unit (which was amazing!), and calm nature helped me make it through my induced labor without pain meds or an epidural. I wasn’t even totally against using pain medication or an epidural and made it clear I may choose the relief if I couldn’t handle the pain, and Stephanie was completely supportive of that and never pressured me to go all natural. However, with her help, I was able to save my energy and cope with my contractions and pain only with the TENS unit. The recovery process was much easier for me this time around, and I believe it was because of how smoothly this birth experience went. I would recommend Stephanie to anyone with any goal for their birth!
9/17/2019
There's not enough space on this form to express how much Stephanie meant to my husband and I during the 24 hour labor that brought our second and last child into the world. Because of a blood incompatibility issue I was induced at 39 weeks and the day that I spent I labor was calm and controlled until the very end. Stephanie maintained a high level of professionalism in spite of a rude nurse and disappearing doctor. She helped us achieve our goal of no epidural in the face of back labor and pitocin! I could not recomemd her any higher for both the experienced and first time mother! If our family wasn't complete I'd be hiring her again.
6/23/2019
Since I got pregnant I knew I wanted a doula. Someone who can support me and my husband in the delivery room, someone who will provide balanced information about medical procedures and what to expect, without creating fear and mistrust of medical professionals. When we met Stephanie for an initial consultation what struck me was how organized and prepared she was. I also liked the fact that she had worked at an ob/gyn office, but at the same time was knowledgeable about non medical techniques to help through labor. I immediately could tell that I could rely on her. Even before we signed a contract she helped me find information about birth photography, and she was always available by phone to address my questions and concerns. She is a person of her word and if she promises something she will deliver. My labor went very well even though it happened very unexpectedly and a month early. It was completely natural and unmedicated. Stephanie stayed in touch on the phone while we were assessing the situation and arrived at the hospital exactly at the right time. She was a perfect team player, going along with the situation and helping as needed. She let me follow my body’s natural inclination. She stayed a long time after delivery, helping with breastfeeding, showing how to swaddle, and she only left when we got comfortable to stay alone with our baby. I can definitely recommend Stephanie. She is very centered in her approach to birth, she is solid and reliable, friendly and adaptable to a specific situation. She always goes above and beyond.

Stephanie Wagner is meant to be a doula. She's resourceful, practical, upfront, and honest. Her diverse background provides a good link between holistic approaches and standard medical care. Her methods incorporate both realms. Her techniques gently pushes clients to think outside of their comfort zones by opening their eyes to various scenarios and options. If it hadn't been for Stephanie's preparation I would have given in to fear and panic in an undesirable situation during delivery. She helped me to fully embrace the potential for things to go differently than expected, as births often do. I am grateful for her support and presence during my entire pregancy and birth.
2/24/2019
Stephanie was amazing. She was indispensable to me and my husband througout the entire process from preparing for the birth and achieving our labor and delivery goals, to adjusting to life with a newborn. She was completely nonjudgemental and supportive at all times, adapting her services to provide what we needed when we needed it. This is incredibly important, as everyone has a unique situation. In our case, I am a medical professional, while my husband can't stand the sight of blood (or the thought of it) and was not sure he could handle being present during the birth at all. But with Stephanie's help and support, he was able to experience the birth of our daughter relatively unscathed and atraumatized. Stephanie somehow managed to help him in this way while also coaching me through every step of labor and delivery! Her services complemented those of the medical team and my support team (my mother and my husband), creating a harmonious and positive overall experience. I would definitely request her services again for myself and recommend her to any friends and family in search of a doula.

Stephanie was a fantastic doula to work with! She made our VBAC birth experience stress free as she supported each decision and provided more natural and non-medical pain relief options (Hello, TENS unit!), positioning help (even after an epidural) and loads of fantastic information! I would highly recommend her to anyone, whether VBAC, FTM or other for that extra support often needed during labor!
11/27/2018
Stephanie was a fantastic doula! She was very knowledgeable, supportive, and kind. I was enthusiastic to have a non-medicated labor and delivery and she supported me and my husband through the whole process. As I labored, we tried several positions to help keep my comfort level up. She even rubbed my lower back for what seemed like hours as I labored on my hands and knees. She only did what I wanted or needed. This was our first child and we highly recommend adding Stephanie to your L&D team!!
10/14/2018
I knew I wanted a doula for my labor/delivery knowing my husband and I could use some additional support. Stephanie was very helpful in talking through my anxiety leading up to labor and working through the fears I had as a result of my first pregnancy. My baby came a couple weeks before her due date, but Stephanie was ready to meet us in the middle of the night and stayed the entire day/evening with us. It was great to have Stephanie with us so that my husband could focus on supporting me and have breaks so that he could continue focusing on what I needed along the way. We were glad to have her at each step before and during the pregnancy/labor as she provided many opportunities for education. Stephanie was able to offer the use of the TENS unit, which was a great tool in offering physical relief. I don’t think we would have had such an incredibly positive birth experience if we hadn’t had the additional help.

Stephanie played a vital role in our daughter's birth. Her fun, inviting personality was just what we were looking for in a doula. Stephanie truly cares about the couples she helps, and will bend over backwards for them. When the big day came, she provided constant physical and emotional support. She also allowed my husband to be hands on, both working in tandem marvelously during my contractions. Even the nurses acknowledged how great she was! I am forever grateful that I had Stephanie by my side!

Stephanie was very supportive throughout my pregnancy and birth. She came to meet me and answer questions/get to know each other, and she came my way again to meet my husband and son and for two prenatal visits to go over comfort techniques. She was very friendly and was receptive to all my ideas and requests. She promptly replied to my communications. I ended up needing to have an unexpected c-section since we discovered my baby was breech when I went into labor, so her role was more limited than we expected, but she was available and supportive and helped with pain management as I was having contractions while awaiting surgery. She also came to my house for a post partum visit, which was a big help on my first day home alone with my two boys after my husband went back to work. I would recommend her to friends.

I became pregnant with my first child at the age of 35. I was scared to death. My pregnancy was rough because I had horrible nausea the entire time. I absolutely dreaded the labor and delivery. I had a history of anxiety and the pregnancy made it worse. Of course, the looming birth terrified me. My husband and I took birthing classes. I decided early on that I would not use drugs/epidural. My birthing plan was to keep everything as natural as possible. I also chose to use a mid wife at my OB/GYN. At the time, I was not even thinking about using a doula.Fast forward to my labor and delivery. My daughter decided to make her entrance into theworld a week early. I got to the hospital via ambulance. All I could think about was calling my parents and my doula. When I called Stephanie and told her that I was at the hospital, she dropped everything to be by my side. Stephanie was able to do what no one else could. She kept my anxiety at bay. Stephanie kept me calm and focused so that I was able to concentrate. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. She instinctively knew when to talk to me, rub my back or just silently stand beside me. Stephanie stayed by my side for over 8 hours. She was an incredible source of comfort, encouragement and knowledge to help ease my worries. I was able to successfully delivermy daughter via vaginal delivery, without any drugs. Stephanie is kind, warm, and funny. She has a wonderful ability to make people feel comfortable in all situations. I highly recommend her as a doula. I would definitly use her again.
