Amanda was my doula during my 2nd pregnancy and I am so thankful I had her during that critical time in my life. I was able to share my experiences from my first birth with her and felt heard and understood. She took all my worries into consideration leading up to the birth of our newest little one. My birth ended up being spontaneous and Amanda was so helpful when it came to communicating with my husband and finding last-minute care for our older child. I was comfortable sharing intimate details with her and felt like I could be myself. Thank you Amanda!

Working with Amanda was so great! She explained her process in detail from the beginning so we always knew what to expect. She was very thorough in discussing our wishes and was respectful of all of our choices. We were so grateful for her support during my daughter's hospital birth, she was kind, steady and encouraging! I'm also very grateful for her postpartum support, it was so nice to have someone there to check in on me afterwards. I would highly recommend Amanda and Faithful Haven Doula Collective to anyone!

Amanda was absolutely amazing to work with throughout pregnancy and delivery. She was a huge amount of knowledge and made me feel empowered throughout my journey. I 100% would recommend her services to any expecting moms.

I had heard great things about Amanda and the services of a doula through a friend. So, I did my research and scheduled an appointment. I had already been a bit stressed being newly pregnant and I had killed my mental by spending 95% of my time on WebMD. I had spiraled due to that prior to meeting with Amanda, but after our meeting, I knew I HAD to have her services. I wanted someone that had experienced other mothers, had a cool and collected personality, and someone that I felt comfortable asking - what felt like at the time- dumb questions. She was helpful during my pregnancy and was available at all hours of the day/night. She was honest with me when I needed a reminder of my hopes for my birthing experience, but also kept me grounded. Not only did I get on-call support but I knew, when the time came, I was in good hands. Amanda was able to advocate for me in the room, give advice and suggestions that others couldn't (or didn't know), be the calm and safe place that I needed during times where I felt my weakest and most vulnerable, remind me of who I am and what my body was created to do, and most importantly, be a friend. Amanda is the person that takes the feelings of others and places them on her shoulders, she is WITH you in that room; not only physically but mentally too. She was able to be a support for my husband as he worked through being my helpmate and be there when he was at his wits end. Short story, she was in our corner and I wouldn't of wanted it any other way. After all that, she was there for me postpartum. With check ins, food deliveries, and still willing to answer questions. I wouldn't have changed my experience for the world and I truly believe that Amanda was a God send to allow that to happen. If you're hesitant, don't be. If you've already had babies in the past, do yourself a favor and enjoy the next one EVEN MORE. Give yourself the gift of a doula, they will treasure you and your family the way you hope that anybody would.

I decided to get a doula during my second pregnancy, not because my first experience giving birth was traumatic, but because I desired more knowledge about what my body was going through, an advocate to help have a voice for my preferences and plan during birth, and support to help provide both my significant other and I comfort and guidance to experience birth in a more natural way (despite still being in a hospital setting). I really wasn't sure what to all expect with a doula, but what I hoped to get was met tenfold! Not only did Amanda come with an ABUNDANCE of knowledge about everything my body was going through at each stage of pregnancy/birth, she also provided education on all of my options once I went into labor and entered the hospital (most of which I had no clue were even options), guidance and empowerment on how to get through my desire of an unmedicated birth, and so much more! Beyond all of her knowledge and passion, Amanda made me feel SO comfortable and cared for from the second I met her. She wash available anytime I needed anything and made me feel like a priority. When I went into labor(early) Amanda was right there in the middle of the night rushing to the hospital at the same time I was. She gave me the courage and support that I needed to get through my birth with my second son just as I desired. It was such a gift to have her by my side encouraging me through something so breathtaking-literally- and helping to be be my voice. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful birth and experience. I know that without Amanda's support ,my experience would have been much different. Amanda's care didn't stop at birth, she continues to check in, educate on how to help my toddler transition into being a big brother, and make sure I am taking care of myself. If you have ever considered getting a doula, I HIGHLY recommend giving yourself that gift of guidance, I know that for me, it allowed for one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.

I would highly recommend hiring Amanda as your doula - you will not regret it! The support she provided us from the day we met her was so helpful whether it was texting about questions or meeting to discuss our birth plan to the actual labor to postpartum support; she was there every step of the way. She is extremely knowledgeable, kind and has a passion for supporting couples and their babies. As first time parents, her support was immeasurable in easing our anxiety and helping us feel prepared and ready to welcome our little one the way we envisioned.

Amanda Echols was my doula for my second child. I wanted a doula to help support me mostly through my delivery as my first daughter's delivery was traumatic and I was fearful of bringing those anxieties and issues into my second delivery. What I found with Amanda was that she was very helpful in delivery, but also with many other things leading up to the delivery and afterwards.

Leading up to my daughter's delivery, Amanda was helpful in providing me resources for my first daughter and how to prepare her for a baby sister. She provided book ideas, activity ideas, how to talk to my daughter, things to consider when we bring baby home. Things I would have never thought of. She also helped me prepare for things I had forgot about like breast feeding, pumps, postpartum recovery. She even provided me resources like mamma and me yoga classses and music classes for my 4 year old.

When it came to actual delivery time, Amanda was there to help me through the experience. She prepared me by letting meknow what to expect and also walking me through what they were doing in the delivery room during my cesearean. She helped to advocate for what I wanted in the delivery room during the procedure and right after delivery. We created a birth plan together and followed through on most of it I believe.

In the weeks and months following my daughters birth, Amanda was a great resource on sleep, feedings, schedules, bottles and other postpartum concerns. When I was on the verge of losing it, she was there and even offered to spend the night to give me some rest. Fortunately, her other advice helped and we were able to get our daughter to sleep longer at night.

I highly recommend Amanda if you are looking for a partner in your delivery, natural or cesearan. I'm sure she would have been even more helpful, had it been a natural delivery. Thanks Amanda!

Amanda was a fantastic resource before, during, and after delivery of our daughter. She was available any time by phone, text, or email, and we met a few times in person, too. She has an excellent resume of training and experience, and I was instantly comfortable when I met her. She had a great bedside manner in the hospital, and was just wonderful at explaining things clearly and in a way my husband and I could both understand.

She coached me through pushing, and was always on alert for things I needed (water, towel) and was always encouraging. She's easy to talk to, and made the time go a lot quicker when we were in the hospital for an induction - which typically takes a long time. She provided me with information about breastfeeding, birth plans, infant care, hospital practices/procedures, and more - she made me feel so much more educated and able to make decisions.

After my daughter was delivered, my husband mentioned how grateful he was that she was there, too - so she was clearly an amazing support for him, too. After my daughter's birth, she stayed with me while I recovered, and she checked in frequently in the weeks following her birth. When I had a hard time getting my daughter to stay latched during breastfeeding, Amanda gave me a few tips and sent me some positions to try for breastfeeding, and we were successful with her help.

I loved having Amanda in the room with me, and I recommend her with flying colors - she is awesome.

I'm not sure where to begin... Amanda was absolutely wonderful. My first labor experience did not turn out the way I had hoped, we ended up having a c-section. This prompted me to search for a doula with my second pregnancy in hopes of being successful with a VBAC. I spoke with several different doulas prior to picking Amanda. She was the first doula I spoke to and she made such an impression that I was literally only comparing everyone else to her. The thing that stood out the most (besides her personality) was she set up meetings with me every month until baby came. She took the time to get to know me, and that was very important to me. Baby was breech for a period of time so she gave me exercises to encourage baby to flip. And as the due date approached she checked in more often.
I went into labor early but Amanda was right there with me. She gave me techniques to manage my pain so I could labor at home for a little while. Once I got to the hospital I asked for her to join me and she came right away. She knew my preferences and helped advocate for me with the medical staff. I wanted to avoid certain medications for as long as possible, she helped to make that clear. She helped with positioning me. She suggested the use of pumping to help regulate my contractions versus being started on pit. She spent a long time with me, unfortunately with all the work we still ended with a c-section. But Amanda NEVER made me feel less than. She made me feel like we did all we could. I am so incredibly grateful for her. Thank you a million times Amanda!

I am so glad I hired Amanda.  She was so crucial in helping me follow through with my birthplan.  This was my first birth but I would also want her present at my second.  I wanted to have an unmedicated birth but also had not idea of what I was in for pain wise and what I was able to tolerate.  I was seriously considering an epideral once I got to the hospital at 4cm dilated. She arrived shortly after that and I was having pretty intense contractions.  Once she got here she was like Mary Poppins pulling things out of her bag, handing me aroma therapy setting up a diffuser, wispering to my husband to coach him a bit on how to sooth me. I again starting asking about an epideral and she was very calmly insisting I should try to move around.  Her suggestions were all magically soothing and helpful.  She eventually got me to get into the shower and that was a saving grace.  It allowed me a break that was much needed and after that I was able to make it throught the rest of my contractions until it was time to push.  She was also so helpful during that time.  I truly don't think I could have done it without her coaching and assistance.  I know my body did the work but I feel like it was a team effort with her assistance.  With out her calming presence and suggestions I know my birth wouldn't have gone as smooth.  I am so glad she talked me into getting into the shower! I was in such pain I was afraid to move.  I really trusted Amanda.  I also feel like she was always calm, never pushy and coached me gently with so much respect for my plan and desires.  Again I would definitely want her there for my second birth.

Amanda was our guide as we navigated the last trimester with our son. She took her time to get to know my previous child’s birth story, our goals, and supported us as we worked through our past trauma while keeping us optimistic and focused on our son’s pregnancy and birth. She answered all my late-night texts with encouragement, knowledge, empathy, and some necessary humor. She was physically and emotionally present and made sure to be direct while empowering my husband and I during our labor and delivery. She was there and yet somehow kept it intimate between my husband and I. Since the birth, she has continued to check in and provide support with all my postpartum questions. She is passionate, empathetic, knowledgeable, and genuine. We are fortunate to have found her for our son’s birth and repeatedly say we wish we had her for our first child’s birth. We highly recommend her and have already referred her to multiple friends who have hired her as well.

I had an excellent experience with Amanda. She was extremely respectful of all decisions and was able to answer all questions without any bias and with all educated knowledge and material. She also encapsulated my placenta.

She was able to support me through my completely natural and unmedicated birth. I would highly recommend her.

I hired Amanda as my doula in 2020. She was quick to respond and met with me in person right away to go over everything. When I was sick, she drove to my house to drop off elderberry syrup and an essential oil blend. Unfortunately I miscarried, but reached out to hire her again in 2021. Amanda was again very responsive and scheduled a meeting right away. She answered all my questions about my birth plan, helped me advocate for myself, and provided a list of books to read to help prepare for birth. Once contractions started, Amanda was in phone contact with me the entire time until she arrived at the hospital. I had an unplanned c-section and Amanda waited in my room until I got back from surgery to make sure everything went well. A week after the birth she came over to drop off my placenta and check on me and the baby. I would definitely hire Amanda again.

In response to Kristen’s testimony:

With great surprise I was shocked to receive this testimonial. I never will disregard someone’s feelings or experiences as they are valid. What I would like to do is shed some light on the situation from my point of view.

Kristen hired the collective on Mar.10, 2020, myself and another collective member collaboratively took her and her partner as clients due to being within a month of her due date. EDD Mar26., 2020. For "late hires" we do this to ensure we can provide the best services possible, within the time frame, after all two doulas are better than one, for the price of one. Mar.17th I received a text message from Kristen stating the following: “ Hey Amanda, it looks like Froedert is allowing one support person per patient, have you heard anything different?”  The next day Mar.18th, 2020, The Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin released a statement changing their visiting policies effective Mar.19th, 2020 to only ONE support person accompanying a birth center patient. Therefore not allowing a second person. Please see link below for the press release I am referring to.

Tmj4.com/news/coronavirus/froedtert-the-medical-college-of-wisconsin-limiting-visitors-at-its-hospitals-amid-coronavirus?_amp=true

In reference to Kristen’s statement, there was no possible way for me to attend her birth as she was admitted Mar.26, 2020, just 7 days after the press release ,the visitor band was still in place. Myself and the other collective member were in constant contact via phone/text and FaceTime for 48+ hours (group text) with Kristen and her partner during her induction until delivery on Mar.28, 2020.

In regards to Kristen’s statement about pumping: there is no scientific evidence or studies that indicate pumping to induce labor for a healthy mother is harmful. However there are many positive benefits to pumping to induce labor to avoid a medical/pharmaceutical induction. Our collective thrives on evidence based research and only offers evidence as suggestions. Please see the two links below for evidence on pumping to induce labor.

I apologize that Kristen was dissatisfied with her doula services, I was not made aware, if I was, I would of done whatever measures I was capable of to make it right. Postpartum healing is important to me as a service provider and the way a mother processes her birth story is part of that healing. In fact, the text message I received while checking in on them during their hospital stay implies otherwise. “Hi thanks for checking in. We're finally getting discharged, with (baby’s name)! Thanks for all your help at the hospital, it was very calming to have you there during all my processes.” Along with 3 photos of Kristen and the newborn. Also within the next few weeks I reached out again in postpartum and received this text message in response, “ Hi! We're doing great, we love this little human so much! Thanks for checking in ?? “

I hope that future potential clients see there was nothing but effort, love and scientific evidence within this experience from my point of view.

I would not reccommend Amanda. I gave birth in March 2020 to my firstborn child. I had carefully picked Amanda as my doula. Although this was the start of the COVID shutdowns, the hospital was allowing doulas into the unit. I had asked Amanda to attend my birth in person many times. She said she would attend, but she never showed up. I had to make multiple calls to her and ask multiple times for her to come to the hospital. Although she said she would come to the hospital she would end up calling on the phone. She also gave me false information about pumping. She had me pump before I went to the hospital. I later found out that this was dangerous for the baby.

Leah

I believe I was Amanda's first COVID baby. Something like 4 days before I went into labor the hospital was only allowing one support person. Throughout the day I texted Amanda early on when contraction first started and all the way up until I got my epidural. Amanda was quick to respond and video chatted me through contractions. She was very supportive of my plan for VBAC. Unfortunately, things got bad and I had to have a crash csection. Amanda has helped walk me through those events and feelings month after birth. Thank you Amanda!

Amanda was just what I was looking for in a doula! I'm so grateful for her support during the birth of my 2nd son. She really takes the time to get to know you and your family beforehand. She was super responsive with any questions I had. When it came time for delivery she was a constant calm presence. I know my husband was happy to have her there as well. And as a bonus-- she turned out to snap some great photos of my son's birth. Thank you Amanda for all that you do ??

'Baby Z' was born last December and she made me and my husband first time parents. The road to her finally being in our arms was over a 3 year process of heartbreak and disappointment, but which ended with pure JOY. By my 3rd trimester, I realized that despite all my preparations, I needed someone to be my practical support through this first time process. I did a fair bit of research looking for the 'best' doula; talking to friends and having them share their experiences. I found Amanda through The Authentic Birth Center and she came very highly recommended, so I wasted no time in contacting her. What I appreciated most after that first inquiry was how quickly she got back to me. We set up our first coffee chat, and from that conversation alone, listening to her experiences and marveling at her knowledge, I knew 'she was the one'! I signed all the paperwork, and scheduled our future chats. 'Baby Z' made her entry into this world a week early, and having had at least two 'prep sessions' with Amanda, the night my water broke, I was excited, but felt strangely calm. Calm because Amanda had already walked me through what to expect and how we could respond. When we got to the hospital, I was able to recall from memory all of Amanda's advice on laboring positions and breathing. While I appreciated my own husband and the wonderful nurses, I was overjoyed to see Amanda walk in. Through breathing, massages and scents, labor was more bearable than I thought. Until it wasn't! Amanda supported me through my personal requests and was that calm presence I needed in the room. My favorite memory even as I type this, is during the final pushes to meet our little girl, I looked at Amanda and said "Can you count with me?". In return I was given a calming smile, and a squeeze of the hand, "Of course I will". Besides my own husband, Amanda's face is the one I remember walking me patiently through this surreal process and I wouldn't have had it any other way. Thank you Amanda!

I sought out a doula to help me process through my anxiety and fears about pregnancy, labor and new motherhood. As a first time mom I was scared. Having Amanda gave me peace and confidence is my  ability to have a healthy pregnancy and birth. Knowing I would have an advocate there for me and to help me process through every step in my journey was so helpful. She always validated my feelings and gave me the confidence I needed to be a great mom! No matter the birth experience you are hoping for-- get a doula! You won't regret it!

Amanda helped to make my natural birth possible! She was a great resource before the birth and was available to meet with us when we needed, whether it be in person, on the phone and even a video call. When I had to be induced a few days before my due date, she was there checking in with my husband on my status and was available to come to the hospital as soon as we needed her. We knew it was going to be awhile, but she still came to the hospital to check in with us before I actually "needed" her to. Once active labor started, she was there for ME, making sure my needs were taken care of and anticpating them so I didn't have to think about what I might need as I focused on laboring. She also gave my husband peace of mind and helped guide him with ways to help me. We would hire Amanda again in a heartbeat!

Melissa

4/25/2020

Amanda was a great resource to my husband and I during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. She was always readily available to answer any questions and when we told her we needed her at the hospital, she came right away knowing she'd be there for the long haul...and she was, given it was my first labor! She stayed the entire time for us.

I am so glad to have had extra support during this process, especially as a first time mom. Amanda advocated on my behalf when I was tired and helped us communicate with the nurses and doctor. She is a calming presence during labor and delivery and I would recommend booking her Doula services to anyone looking for that support!

Amanda made my birth the exact dream birth I've always wanted. With it being my last, I didn't want to go without a doula.  Amanda came HIGHLY recommended to me and I knew within the first meeting that she was the perfect fit.  Being a mom who suffered a bit of a trauma from my first birth, Amanda really helped to comfort me and she was there for me at any time I needed her.  Mid pregnancy, she recommended a midwife so I could go toward a homebirth after a bad experience with my previous provider.  She instilled a lot of confidence in me and helped me prepare for birth.  Once I got established with the midwife, it was go time and Amanda came immediately.  Her assist doula Kim was there also and let me just say, my birth would not have been as beautiful and comfortable as it felt if they were not there.  During my labor, they kept it light with pain techniques and making sure I breathe through the surges.  Instead of feeling like staff, they felt like close friends. (It was hard to watch them leave). They were excellent with my toddler (who was sleeping during my birth) and absolutely amazing at making sure I was taken care of postpartum.  I went ahead with the placenta pills which were ready almost immediately and were 100% worth it.    I am so thankful for Amanda (and Kim) and I had the most perfect birth, for me, because of her.  You can add me to the list of those who HIGHLY recommend her. Thanks so much, Amanda.  Blessings. ??

Amanda is super knowledgeable and walked us through everything we needed to know prior to birth! We knew that our baby was breach and would likely be a C-section, and she offered lots of guidance in how to try to turn the baby, as well as how to approach the C-section.  Well, I had a very determined baby who never did turn, so we had the C-section. We had a lot of questions about what happens at the hospital and what choices we needed to make about cord clamping, etc etc and she was able to talk us through everything very clearly, in a way that helped us make our choices. I really appreciated that she was very research-oriented and based her advice in studies and proven wisdom.

Although we did not have the experience of labor, I would say it was still very useful to have Amanda there for the delivery, and absolutely invaulable in the weeks after the delivery. It was my first baby and we were dealing with breastfeeding and latching issues, as well as sleep stuff (like everyone does!) and it was just very helpful to have someone knowledgeable and experienced to be able to call or text and just ask for some advice!

I really appreciated having someone with knowledge by my side, that was able to be an advocate for the care I wanted. She helped me reamain calm and stick to my birth plan as much as possible. I love the essential oils she provided during my labor. If you want peace of mind and someone that knows what they are doing by your side she is perfect!

Amanda is WONDERFUL! My husband is in the Army, and we didn't know whether he'd be able to come back from a deployment when our daughter was born. I knew I wanted a doula so I wasn't alone in the delivery room (and preferably someone who'd been to lots of births, since it was our first baby and I had no idea what to expect!). In the middle of these stressful circumstances, Amanda turned out to be the PERFECT doula. She is knowledgeable, caring, and one of the most generous people I've ever met.

When I interviewed Amanda, she spent hours with me in a coffee shop, talking about her experiences as both a doula and a mom of four. In that conversation, I was struck by how generous she was with her time, and how much she clearly loves her work. I felt good knowing that she'd been to more than 100 births. But I was still kind of hesitant, because as wonderful as Amanda is, she wasn't my husband. I went for it, and I am SO GLAD I did. The day I went into labor, it turned out I wanted a minimal approach to delivery--no music, no scented oils: I just wanted to concentrate on my breathing. Amanda followed my lead in being low-key, and quietly supportive. Or maybe it's more accurate to say that she figured out what I needed before I did, and set everything up perfectly before I even knew what to ask for. She gently suggested when to try the peanut ball, and when to get in the tub. She watched me when I was in the tub, and helped me arrange towels to get as comfortable as possible. She helped me when I was sick. I felt protected having her there.

When, by the grace of God, my husband got to the hospital two hours after our daughter was born, Amanda stayed even longer to make sure we were all set--that we had food, and were comfortable and confident as new parents can be. After my husband left, she generously came on postpartum visits when I was an anxious brand-new mom. I'd hire her again in an instant, and highly recommend her. You'll be so glad you did!

I recently gave birth to my 3rd son, the first of which I had a doula present. Having Amanda present at my hospital birth with a second set of ears and eyes eased so many of my concerns related to my birth plan. I ultimately ended up with a csection but even then I knew my baby would be watched with the attentiveness I wanted to ensure all my wishes were followed by the medical staff, and they were.

My husband also appreciated the support and companionship she provided leading up to the delivery because it was an anxious and uneasy time for him. If I have a fourth baby I will definitely be using Amanda's services again. I feel she provides a great service for a terrific value.  Thank you!

EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE A DOULA LIKE AMANDA!!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A BIRTHING AND POSTPARTUM DOULA, HIRE AMANDA!!!
She was there for my husband and I with whatever we needed. She goes above and beyond for her clients. Amanda worked with us through our birth and the postpartum period.
Our birth did not go exactly how we planned. Amanda was there through it all, supporting and advocating for us.
We are beyond thankful we had Amanda as a support system in the first few weeks after our daughter was born. She was able to recognize my postpartum depression symptoms and find me the help I needed.

I was on the fence for awhile about hiring a doula but now that it’s all said and done I’m so glad I did. Amanda was always so quick to respond whenever I needed something and was truly only a text or phone call away. Being a first time mom pregnancy, labor, and delivery can be a bit overwhelming and scary. She explained things to me in ways that were easy to understand during such a stressful time. She was such a great support for my husband and I and was extremely valuable. I’m so greatful we made Amanda part of our birth plan.

Investing in a doula was one of the best decisions I ever made. As a first time mom, in a state with no family, it was important for my husband and I to have an advocate. After doing some research, I found Amanda. Her experience and enthusiasm about being a doula caught my eye right away. As I looked around, I kept coming back to her.

When we first met, Amanda was very attentive about answering my questions. She was easy to talk to, outgoing, friendly, and very sweet. I could tell she had a lot of experience as a doula, and it made my husband and I comfortable that she would be able to help us navigate the birth  process as first time parents. She made herself available 24/7 after that initial meeting for any questions.

When it was time to give birth, Amanda arrived quickly to the hospital. She was a wealth of knowledge when it came to getting me through contractions, giving my husband tips, and making me feel comfortable. Looking back, I could not imagine going through the process without her. Her support, and overall confidence in me and my body was above and beyond. I 100% recommend her to any couple's about to give birth. She is a gem in the doula world.

Working with Amanda was so great. The prenatal visits were really helpful to get to know each other and to develop a comprehensive birth “plan.” She was very knowledgeable about all things labor and delivery and was able to answer questions and provide real life examples of many different situations. She made me feel confident that I could achieve the natural and intervention-free labor that I wanted to have, which was SO valuable and important. She was super available during pregnancy when we had a question or concern. She also provided some helpful suggestions and ideas to deal with pregnancy discomforts and to help my body prepare for labor. In the end, my labor went really fast and we didn’t get a chance to try many of our strategies to labor and deliver naturally. I did achieve the birth experience that I hoped for, and having her there was comforting. I knew she truly believed I could do it, even when I started to doubt myself, and that was so helpful. I’m so grateful that we worked with Amanda and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for support.

By sheer luck, Amanda's profile was the first one I had clicked on when looking for a doula, and I'm so glad it was! We could not have asked for a better doula for the birth of our first child. My husband was initially sceptical and felt he was being replaced by opting for a doula; however with each home visit prior to birth Amanda was able to win his trust and reassure him that she was not there to replace him but to help both of us welcome our son into the world. Our birth did not go as planned and we were induced at 37 weeks. With this being our first we did not know what to expect. Amanda was amazing in preparing us for the induction and easing our minds about the process. When the day came she was amazing and both my husband and I were so happy to have her there supporting us. She knew the right aroma therapy oils to keep me calm. She helped us with different positions and techniques we never would have know about ourselves. She helped show my husband the best ways to support and help me through my labor. And best of all she never left our side. It was a huge comfort to both of us having her there. She is truly passionate about the work she does and it shows! We are truly blessed to have found her!

First, if you are on the fence about hiring a doula...just do it! Second, if you want a doula...hire Amanda! Amanda is dedicated and passionate about birth and babies and I’m so grateful that my husband and I had her there for the birth of our daughter. Amanda helped me work through my induced labor and allowed me to be medicine/epidural free for the majority of my labor. I’m convinced that without her, I would have gotten an epidural much sooner and possibly not had a vaginal delivery. She was a great resource for my husband and guided him, allowing him to help me in ways I’m not sure he would have otherwise known. She was a calming and reassuring presence for me and helped me move around, advocated for me and encouraged me. She arrived to the hospital at 5 am and never left my side until an hour or two after my daughter was born (10/11 at night!) Amanda does several visits prior to baby’s arrival and and a couple postpartum visits as well. She helped me with breastfeeding and built my confidence up. She is a vault of great information and is worth every single penny. Thank you, Amanda for everything you have done for my new family!

As I neared 37 weeks pregnant with my third child, my docter said I would be induced at 39 weeks due to my age. I started to worry as it was 9 years since my last birth, and I realized I was not happy with my previous birth experiences (both involving induction). I felt like I had no say, I felt alone, and I really wanted a 'natural birth'. Then the I found DoulaMatch. I reached out to few doulas; Amanda got back to me right away and it was clear she was professional, knowledgeable and loves being a doula. Because of her, I was able to communicate what I wanted despite being induced, and in turn, I had an incredible nurse that did all she could to make it happen. I am overjoyed when I think back at this birth experience. Amanda's calmness and attentiveness gave me strength, helping me manage the pain and avoid an epidural. Also, the aromatherapy was incredible. Amanda is so caring and giving of her time, she is a great person.

Amanda was such a blessing to have at our son's birth! I ended up needing to be induced due to high blood pressure which changed our birth plan quite a bit right off the bat. Despite the need for some medical intervention, Amanda helped me and my husband navigate the different decisions we had to make throughout our 33 hour labor. Having Amanda with us helped to keep things calm because she gave us the reassurance that we were making the best decision for the health and well-being of myself and our baby. I'd recommend her to anyone looking for an experienced, dependable, and professional doula.

My husband and I contacted Amanda when I was already almost 37 weeks. She quickly responded to us and we were able to work with her despite our shortened timeline. In our meetings prior to delivery Amanda was able to put my husband's anxieties about what would happen during labor at ease because he knew she would be there helping. After my water broke at night, Amanda came to join us very late at night in the hospital and stayed with us through my long labor (till the next night) and afterwards. She walked all of us through the process and helped me manage my pain and make decisions throughout the birth process. We were both very glad to have her!

Amanda was hands down what I needed for my extremely long induction and labor. Amanda was by mine and my husbands side for three days. She made sure I was heard and stood up for what I wanted during m labor. Amanda will for ever hold a very special place in our lives.

Amanda was exactly what our family needed to get the birth experience of our dreams.  Amanda is kind, supportive and well informed.  Amanda met with us in our home to get to know us and our birth preferences prior to "labor day."  She was interested in our past birth experince and our desires for this experince.  Amanda was always available by phone or text message - she even came to the hospital for a "false alarm" labor (and didn't make me feel the least bit bad).

On the big day Amanda was a kind and steady presence in the labor and delivery room - she helped my husband and me have confidence in our decision and desire for a natural birth experince (even in a hospital setting).  She was next to me the entire labor and delivery experince saying encouraging words and massaging my back and squeezing my hips (!) - truly invaluable to have the extra set of hands.

We would recommend Amanda to ANYONE!

I wanted a doula for my last pregnancy but was unable to afford one. My husband and I were fortunate enough to get one for our 3rd child. I always wanted to go through labor without an epidural but with my first 2, my water broke and I wasn't having contractions so I had to be given pitocin. Baby #3, I told my husband I really think I can do this naturally if we have a doula that can help him to help me and take over fully if he's too tired. The plan was no pitocin, no epidural. Well, this baby wasn't 2 weeks early like his brothers, he was 11 days late and I had to be induced with the dreaded pitocin. Amanda was so supportive to my husband and I during the whole process. She gave us the confidence we needed before labor and confidence, support, and comfort during labor and delivery, not to mention support after delivery. I had my doubts of doing this with no epidural because of the pitocin, but I did it! My labor progressed more quickly than I thought it would, but Amanda got there so quickly and knew what to do to help me as soon as she walked through the door. I really feel that Amanda made a HUGE difference with helping me and my husband. The pain was more than I would have ever imagined but having her there to guide me with focusing on my breathing to help manage my contractions and her suggesting things for my husband to do to help me, I was able to go through my labor and delivery in 6 hours. I'm so grateful to have been able to go through it without the epidural and have an amazing experience of connecting with my baby while bringing him into this world. I have Amanda to thank for this because I don't think I could have done this without her.

Amanda was there for me at a drop of a hat when my Doula had a medical emergency and couldn't make it. She helped me feel comfortable and get to know her quickly. About an hour or so later baby was born. I'm so thankful for her help and support!

We were initially hesitant to hiring a doula, thinking we wanted the birth of our child to be something shared my just my husband and I. But my desires for a natural birth led us to decide on the extra support of a doula.

My labor went from relaxed and slow to intense and fast the moment my water broke. Amanda got there as quick as she could and jumped right in. Birth didn't progress at all how we planned, and we wavered from my desires for a med free birth, but Amanda's support never changed. She really proved to be a valuable asset (to my husband especially!) when baby started showing signs of stress and I was wheeled out for an emergency c-section. Amanda stayed with him until he was allowed in by me, and helped to calm him in a scary time too. She joined us again in the recovery room, providing a sense of calm and talking us through what all happened in such a short amount of time.

If you're on the fence about a doula, please, don't hesitate. I'm so glad we had Amanda on our side ??

Amanda was my stand-in doula when my original doula could not make it to the birth of my son. I was terrified and had so much anxiety-- that's the last thing a person in labor needs to hear. Amanda arrived very quickly. She was so attentive, knew just the right things to say and had a soft touch. She was EXACTLY what I needed. She coached my husband to be an active participant which is something that was very important to me. She had so many techniques that kept us moving and helped me feel like I was in control of progressing the labor along. I would so strongly recommend Amanda to any family looking for a doula. You will not be disappointed.

First and foremost Amanda is the most amazing person I have ever met. While in the hospital I was there alone due to my other half starting a new job.  She checked up on me from the start. The minute I asked her to come she was there within the hour. She never left my side, she was very attentive, and did everything to make me feel as relaxed as possible.  When it came time to push she was right by side coaching me and helping me through.  She was able to cut the cord and was extremely proud.  She's not only a best friend but an angel.

Amanda was so supportive, and attentive to my needs as a mother in labor. She loves being a doula! And is a great one!
I recommend her if your looking to have a support system on your side. And someone to explain and help you understand your options and stick to them!
