When we had our daughter, we were first time parents without the support of close family. Every day was learning on the job.  We had read the books and taken the classes, but nothing truly prepared us for the daily chaos of having a newborn.

Then, faced with medical complications, we felt truly overwhelmed.  Every day was a struggle to the point of exhaustion, andwe weren't sure how we'd ever find our way through.

Sarah was our post-natal doula and we are eternally grateful. She provided support in every possible way.  Her care, and genuine compassion gave us space to heal.  She was a wonderful and welcome presence for our growing family.  My daughter adores her, and Sarah even put up with our 2 wild dogs and ornery cat.

Parenthood is as magical and joyful as everyone says it is.  It's also terrifying, and unpredictable.  If you need support, I highly recommend Sarah.  She has that special combination of wisdom and warmth.  For our part, we could never thank her enough.

I’m so glad that my husband and I decided to hire a doula. And I’m so glad that doula was Sarah!

When we found out we were pregnant, we knew that we wanted to have an unmedicated birth. We knew that in order for this to happen, it was crucial to have a strong support system. And having Sarah as our doula helped make that a reality!

Right when we met Sarah, we knew she would make the perfect addition to our birth team. She is so kind + knowledgeable and instantly made us feel comfortable. It was so great having her as a resource during our pregnancy and postpartum too. She kept us focused on our goal of a low intervention/unmedicated birth.

During the delivery of our son, Sarah and my husband made the perfect team. Sarah kept me focused and spoke words of affirmation to get me through each contraction. And my husband was my physical support. They worked so well together.

After the delivery, Sarah made sure to check in on us. She checked in days, weeks and even months after. I had questions that came up postpartum and she was a great resource to have and was able to help me when I needed it.

If you are wondering if hiring a doula for your delivery is worth it, it totally is! My husband and I are so happy we had Sarah along side us during our journey!

Sarah provided amazing support to us from our first prenatal visit all the way through to after the birth of our daughter. During the prenatal visits she helped us work through our birth plan and was a great resource for answering all of our questions about options during labor and delivery. Her support during early labor at home was invaluable and gave us the confidence to labor at home for as long as possible before heading to the birth center. I have no doubt we would have arrived at the hospital way too early (and probably would have been sent home) if Sarah had not been there to help me get through contractions and to guide us on when it was the appropriate time to leave for the hospital. When we got to the hospital, she helped with any questions we had that came up and provided a calming presence in the room. I was so grateful Sarah was there to help me focus, and my husband appreciated the knowledge and experience that she provided. From the start, Sarah worked with both of us to know what each one of us needed and wanted from the experience. Sarah’s support made me feel much more prepared and confident and I can’t imagine what it would have been like if she hadn’t been there. After the baby was born she checked in on us and provided lots of great resources as well. Sarah contributed to a great birth experience and I highly recommend her!

Before, during, and after our baby's birth, Sarah soothed the worries we had about childbirth as much as a human being could. We knew little about having a baby, but from our first meeting together Sarah's calming presence and insightful take on the process helped us feel more relaxed. Way before the birth, the talked us through our concerns and gave us further resources to take away our fears.

During the birth, Sarah was probably the most vital person in the room. Naturally, our doctors and nurses ensured my wife's health, but it was Sarah that translated the medical jargon into plain language and made us fully aware of our options when we had to make decisions. We knew everything would be ok, because Sarah was there.

Personally, I was worried that after the birth was where things would fall apart, but Sarah was there, too, visiting us in the hospital to check in, giving us relevant information about our fears, and then seeing us at home to provide helpful words and postpartum resources that gave us the confidence to make it through.

And I get the sense that if we had needed more (been even more worried, or if more had gone wrong with our birth), Sarah would have met us with more support--we did not even take advantage in her knowledge of Reiki, her experience with body positions to help with contractions, or many of the other areas in which she is an expert.

We knew that Sarah would be helpful to have around from the moment we first heard her, since we knew her kind, warm, British voice would be relaxing in the birth process. That proved to be true, and her voice was if anything exceeded by her knowledge, demeanor, and spirit.

We are so grateful to have had Sarah as our doula! She is kind, knowledgeable, and accessible. Her energy is peaceful and comforting. She created space for us to make important decisions about our birth process and remained attuned to our priorities before and during the birth. She is also skillful with comfort measures, which was much appreciated!

Sarah was a part of all three of our hospital births and such a bleesing to us every time! As I had questions with each pregnancy, Sarah offered infromation and resources to help guide concerns and decisions. She is so well versed in what we mommas are anxious about, and so well connected in our community. Her demeanor is so encouraging and suuportive, not matter what your choices are along the way. For delivery, she gave me the confidence I needed to focus on birth, and not all the decisions and stress surrounding it. My husband greatly appreciated having someone expereinced there to make suggestions and help him in any coaching moments of support.

Hiring her was some of the best money we ever spent. She was so easy to get along with, knowledgeable and the best support I could have asked for. She helped me in soo many ways from pre birth, to birthing, to postpartum help. Hire her...ITS A MUST!!

Sarah was an exceptional sources of knowledge and calm during my pregnancy and labor.

Before delivery, she spent hours with us discussing our needs, desires, and how she could help us when the time came. She was very respectful of our wishes, and helped make both my husband and I feel comfortable.

During delivery she came right away when we asked, and prepared things that we needed. She was hands on when we needed, and hands off when we asked. Her demeanor is very calm and she is right there when you need her. At the height of my labor I remember her peeking her head in very softly and offering some much needed advice. She followed all our wishes and really advocated for us.

I feel very privileged to have had Sarah at my birth and if I decide to have another, she will be my only choice.

Sarah Wort was our doula for the birth of my son Charlie in October, 2015. From our  first contact, I knew Sarah was the perfect match for us. She is kind, soft-spoken and immediately put me at ease.

In the months leading up to my labor, Sarah was consistently helpful, checking in and easing my fears. She met with my husband and me several times to help us practice labor techniques and to build our relationship with her. At first, we were nervous about sharing such a personal and intimate experience with someone, but she proved her worth over and over again.

When I went in to labor, she coached me on the phone and then met me at my house so we could come up with a game plan. It was so nice knowing she was there to support both me and my husband. When my labor became more intense, Sarah was right there, holding my hand, massaging my back, and doing everything in her power to help me stay calm and focused. My husband loved being able to follow her lead as well. I don't know how I would have done it without the two of them there.

Nurses came and went and the doctor was busy, but Sarah was totally focused on me and my needs. She was able to say things in a way that I could understand and she helped me focus when I needed to the most. My sweet baby was born happy and healthy on October 25th after just 5 hours in the hospital. She took pictures for us that I will treasure forever and witnessed us becoming a family of three.

I will never be able to thank Sarah enough for all of the love and support she continues to show me. I cannot recommend her enough to anyone looking for a doula. Sarah is simply amazing and I hope to have her help for any future babies down the road.

I chose to use a doula for my second birth after having having to be induced and having complications from the epidural during my first delivery. Having had the experience of delivering a child previously, I knew that I wanted additional expertise and support in order to have an unmedicated delivery with my second child. Even thought I had to be induced again with my second child (contractions with inductions are much, much, much different and more difficult than when the body induces labor on it's own) I was successful in maintaining an unmedication delivery. Sarah was the critical link to reaching this goal. She provided meaningful information in the weeks leading up to my due date on the birth process which, even though I'd had a baby before, neither my husband or I were aware of. She maintained daily contact and support during my due date week and the 10 following days as I went overdue. During the induction she was masterful at providing gentle yet firm support, encouragement and energy during the whole proces. I had a great deal of fear being induced again and knowing that I had her expertise and support eased some of the anxiety I experienced. During the process I know that my husband was also grateful for her presence and work. Having her there allowed him to be supportive to me without having the extra burden of trying to understand what was happening or trying to fiture out how to help me. Sarah was able to offer him tips and ideas so that he could support me in a meaningful way. I cannot recommend having a doula at your birth; more importantly I cannot recommend Sarah enough!!!
