I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with Liz as my doula. She was my doula for the birth of my second baby, and we discussed in depth beforehand what my hopes were for this labor and delivery. After a traumatic experience with my first, I had a lot of apprehensions about labor with my second. One of the reasons I chose Liz as my doula was her similar experience of a not-great first birth where unexpected complications arose, but having a transformative experience with her second. I was hopeful to have a similar outcome, and I'm so relieved and happy to report that I did. Liz was very understanding and supportive throughout the entire process. I very much appreciate how she made the effort to do so much more than simply develop a birth plan - she listened to my story and really wanted to share an understanding of my expectations and outlook. At the birth itself, I couldn't have asked for a better person in the room. She was extremely supportive of both me and my husband while remaining calm and grounded. Labor is extremely difficult, but I was comforted again and again by having her to assure me that I was doing a great job and that things were progressing. I also appreciate that she was comfortable in a medical setting and communicated confidently and respectfully with hospital staff on my behalf. I would absolutely recommend Liz to anyone considering hiring a doula. If I were to have another baby I would choose her again in a heartbeat!

After the dust settled and everyone cleared out of the hospital room, my husband and I were left holding our son for the first time alone. The first thing we said to one another was “how could we have ever done that without Liz?" As a first time mother, I had no idea what a birth plan was, let alone how to create my own. I had typical fears of what my body would be able to handle. My goal was to deliver as unmedicated as possible, but was open to any form of medication if the pain or exhaustion was too intense. Liz was in full support of this plan and helped outline specifics that I didn’t even know existed. Liz would text to check in during the weeks leading up to labor, offering suggestions. She answered all of my questions, sending me links and images of stretches to try and to explain things like the bishop score. I had a great relationship with my OB, however Liz would encourage  me to ask specific questions, especially as things got closer. During labor, Liz stayed by my side, laboring with me at home and then coming to the hospital with me. She made suggestions and balanced coaching me through contractions, and giving me space to listen to my body. She was full of encouraging words, pep talks, and coaching my husband as well. When time came to push it was Liz’s hand that I reached for, and her words that kept me grounded. My goal of a mostly unmedicated birth was met, and I know that I wouldn’t have achieved that with her by my side. After delivery, Liz stayed to make sure breastfeeding was going well. She checked in in the days following, and answered some postpartum questions. Liz is an amazing doula and I could not recommend her enough. My husband, newborn son, and I are eternally grateful for her skill, compassion, and knowledge.

Elizabeth was a welcome presence at the birth of our daughter.  During our pre labor meetings my husband and I felt listened to and respected.  During labor she acted in a supportive role to not only help me but help my husband help me.  I had a back labor and she was able to recommend postures and pain relieving techniques to help me finish.  She took time in our pre labor meetings to learn my personality and how I liked to be communicated with so I would be as motivated and as receptive to her instruction as possible.  We never felt she was over-bearing or pushed us toward a path with which we weren’t comfortable.  We decided on a doula in our 8th month and we’re so glad we did even though we were a bit late.  We highly recommend Liz to anyone, regardless of birth plan!

Where to begin?! We had such a wonderful birth experience with Liz. Our first birth did not go as we planned and decided to hire a doula for the next birthing experience. Liz was there for us throughout the last trimester for support and when the day came for the hospital she arrived on scene and my wife had our baby all naturally within 5 hours. Liz used her experience and knowledge and helped Natalie have the birth that we wanted. I would recommend her as a doula to anyone and would hire her again. We have 2 daughters now and if they have kids we’ll definitly have a doula (I’d hire Liz if she’s still working by that time!). If we had not had Liz their I firmly believe that the birth would not have gone the way we wanted. Liz always stayed calm and supportive throughtout the birthing time and worked well as a team with the healthcare staff at the hospital. The staff made a comment that she was the best doula they had ever seen and wished all doulas were like her. Not enough can be said for how helpful Liz was and how thankful we are for her and how glad we are for hiring her. She was like family, and still feels like it! She chrcked on us continually afterwards via One home visit and multiple conversation through text message. Having a strong support team is critical for any birth and Liz was a foundation to ours. Thank you for everything Liz. We reflect on this birth and though it was hard, it was very positive. From the bottom of our hearts thank you Liz! We’ll never forget you! - Natalie and Eric

My experience with Liz as my doula was great. She was always prompt, knowledgeable and professional yet easy to relate to. She had answers to all of my questions and had resources for things I might need after delivery, such as a lactation consultant. She even made an extra visit to my home, on short notice, the day I came home from the hospital to help me with the baby's latch. This was my third baby, but first time with a doula attending the birth. It was by far my best labor and delivery experience and I attribute that largely to the fact that I had Liz as my doula. I would highly recommend her.

Liz was absolutely amazing. My husband and I felt very much like we had no idea what we were doing while I was pregnant. During our two prenatal visits with Liz, she reassured us, talked through things that we were nervous about, and helped us with our birth plan. During the actual birth, not everything went as planned, and we were so grateful to have Liz there to support us, guide us, and stay with me while my husband stayed with our son.

We were also very grateful for the postpartum visits. They really helped me work through the parts of my birth that felt traumatic. And Liz was always checking in with me via text to see how I was doing. Not only is she an amazing doula, she's kind, sweet, and caring as well!

You should definitely hire Liz as your doula. We were so grateful that we did. She is worth every penny and more!

We are so grateful for Liz, she was the perfect addition to our birth team. She was instrumental in achieveing the birth experience we were hoping for. She is a very good listener and helped us through any fears that we had. She was recommended to us by one of my friends and I would definitely recommend her in a heart beat.

We worked with Elizabeth for the birth of our daughter, Grace, and absolutely loved having her there! She was such a calming presence and helped me tremendously during a very quick and intense labor. My husband was extremely thankful for her to be able to assist me during the quick progression. Additionally, we had some health scares with our daughter after birth and she was not only supportive during the hospital stay but the post partum time as well. She was so caring and easy to talk to about concerns and worries. We would recommend her to anyone searching for a doula!

I am so glad that we chose Liz to be our doula. She was so helpful in meeting with us before labor. The resources and reassurance she provided helped to relieve some of the fear we had going into a VBAC after having an emergency c-section with our first child. After going past my due date and thinking I would never go into labor, I ended up having a super quick labor and delivery lasting only a few hours, and Liz' support and guidance were crucial in me reaching my goal of an unmedicated VBAC. She was ready and waiting at the hospital when I arrived fully dilated, and she coached me through the entire pushing process. She reminded me to let my body relax between contractions, and she helped me to stay calm by encouraging me and reminding me that my body was doing what it was meant to do. I couldn't be more happy with our experience, and I highly recommend Liz whenever I talk to a pregnant woman looking for support in labor!

Liz was a pleasure to work.  She was easy to keep in touch with during my pregnancy, via email and text.  We also had several in-person visits with her prior to delivery.  On the day of delivery, she came to our home, and then followed us to the birthing center.  I had a smooth delivery, despite hitting a few unexpected road bumps out of our control.  I would recommend Liz to anyone looking for a doula.

I’m an RN and had originally planned on doing your “typical” hospital birth. I hadn’t really given much consideration to any other kind of birth and pain meds and epidural sounded just fine to me. Then I got pregnant and began really researching my options and decided natural was the way to go.
We met Liz for an initial consultation and she made me feel at ease right away. She has a very calm and sweet demeanor. Liz was supportive and wonderful pre and post pregnancy but, she was an absolute rock-star during the birth! I had a long 23 hour labor and she and my husband worked amazing as a team tirelessly applying counter pressure. She was so attentive and sensitive to my needs. There are so many little things you forget about when you are in labor…like drinking enough water and going to the bathroom. Liz was great about verbally affirming me and pampering me. She was knowledgeable on positions and natural pain relief techniques. She worked really well with the medical team. Our nurse even commented that Liz was one of the best doulas she had seen. We succeeded in doing all-natural birth in a hospital thanks to Liz, my hubby and God who gave me strength. I can’t imagine doing a natural birth without the help of Liz. I highly recommend her if you are looking for an amazing, strong and caring person to support you.

After a very lengthy and difficult labor with my first child, I knew I wanted some extra support with my second.  I met with Liz after finding her on Doula Match, and was confident right away that she was a good fit.  I was right.  In our prenatal visits and messages she helped me in several ways, from sorting out the details of my birth plan, to helping me work through my fears of what I'd face in my second labor.  She was also unfailingly patient when I contacted her about what turned out to be Braxton-Hicks.

As it turned out, my labor progressed rapidly, and I was already in transition when Liz arrived.  I was really starting to struggle, but she applied counter-pressure (taking the edge off of my contractions) and reminded me of why I had chosen a natural birth.  She helped to keep me motivated, and played no small role in helping me to have the kind of birth experience I wanted.

I couldn't be happier with the way things went, and am so glad to have chosen Liz as my doula!
