I was paired with Katie as my doula through Everyday Miracles. I am so grateful that she works with their program for families on state insurance as it made having an experienced doula like her accessible for me. I said to Katie and others many times the night my baby was born that I wouldn't have been able to do it without her!!! My labor began at home where I labored for about six hours before going in to the birth center--I called Katie as we drove there and though she had been at a birth all night the night before, she came to meet us within the hour. Little did we know it would be another 24 hours before my baby was born! Katie literally only left my side during that 24 hours when I asked her to so that I could shower or have some privacy, otherwise she was right there during every contraction holding my hand and assuring me that I was on the right path. As it was my first labor I had no idea what I was doing, so her constant assurance and encouragement gave me strength because I knew she had seen many births before. She was such a source of comfort to me and my partner, and I am truly so grateful that we all got to share the experience together! Would do it over and over again with her by my side <3

We welcomed our baby boy in March of 2022, and Katie was such an important part of our process of preparing for birth, experiencing birth, and settling in as a new family of three. Katie is so knowledgeable about the the emotional and physical  aspects of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum, and I felt I incredibly supported and cared for. She was extremely considerate of all questions big and small both me and my partner had throughout our time working with her. During my actual labor and delivery (I was induced and ended up having a C-section), Katie made me feel so safe and cared for. She also encapsulated my placenta for me, which I believe helped me feel more balanced postpartum. I am so happy we had the support of a doula throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum, and that our doula was Katie :) She is a gifted, kind, smart, affirming and strong presence, and we'll forever be grateful she was part of our son's welcoming to the world.

Katie was an amazing source of support throughout the birth of my second child last November. I was planning for a VBAC at the hospital.
Even before labor, there were hurdles she helped me work through; in the middle of third trimester baby had still not turned, and Katie put me in touch with a chiropractor to help encourage better alignment in my body in the hopes baby would flip head down (success!) Once we passed the due date, Katie was immensely supportive as I weighed possible changes to my birth plans. And of course, during labor she helped me to focus my energy and make each contraction count. Katie also captured the first moments with our camera following the birth so my husband could attend to me and our son. I had a smooth and successful VBAC experience and am so grateful for Katie's steady and calm presence in the delivery room. She is a wonderful doula and I would highly recommend her to anyone considering doula services. Thank you Katie!

Katie was wonderful to have at my birth a few weeks ago. I transferred from home to hospital and she was a great advocate for me and my family during the transition. She was encouraging during the whole process with affirmations, counter pressure on my hips, and being engaged during every moment. My husband and I highly recommend her!

I choose Katie to be my doula when I was pregnant with my third. I knew she would be a good fit because she was easy to talk to and very informative.

Towards the end of my pregnancy, I was getting concerned because I didn’t know if I would be able to have the kind of birth I wanted if I went past my due date. She assured me everything would be fine and kept things positive. She was there for me anytime and always checked in with me.

When I finally went into labor at 41+6. I contacted her and she immediately got back to me but was also with another mom (having her baby at that time). So it was a close call if she would make it to my birth as it seemed that my labor was happening very quickly. She offered someone else to fill her spot and I was ok with that. Luckily on our way to the birthing center, she was able to drive and meet us there just in time. We went inside, and 20 minutes later my daughter was born. The best part of having Katie as our doula after I delivered my daughter is she stayed with us to make sure we had eaten and all our needs were met. She picked up food for us from a nearby restaurant and took a couple of beautiful photos of the birth that I will cherish forever.

We are so grateful that Katie was there for us and supported us through it all. She was a great addition to the birth of our daughter and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. She was amazing!

Going into my first pregnancy during COVID my partner and I knew we would benefit from extra support. Katie was there for us throughout the entire journey. She provided knowledge, resources, and practical tips when meeting and communicating with her during my pregnancy. She took time to understand our wishes and tailored her approach based on what made sense for us. At the end of pregnancy and during labor Katie was with us every step of the way and we often talk about the support that she provided as one of the most important aspects of us having such a wonderful birth experience. There are so many unknowns when giving birth and having Katie in our corner to help us through the experience was above and beyond our expectations.

Katie was so wonderful to work with, and I highly recommend her to anyone seeking the support of a doula! From the beginning to the end, Katie was a great match for our family during my pregnancy, birth and postpartum. When we first met with Katie, we explained what kind of support we wanted and were seeking. I felt like Katie really listened to our requests and provided exactly what we were looking for. Katie was such a calm presence during the birth of our daughter. It was such a comfort for both my husband and I to have her there with us. She seemed to know exactly what to say when I needed the encouragement. We had a beautiful birth experience, and her support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum provided us with peace and confidence!

If you are looking for a kind, knowledgeable, collaborative doula who will work with you to support your unique labor and delivery experience, Katie Schram is an amazing option.  Katie respects and cares for her clients in a way that any laboring mother would appreciate.  I had a long labor, with a complicated experience with hospital providers and staff.  Having Katie in our corner made all of the difference.  She was always on my side and by my side, and finding ways to honor my desire for a natural birth without being pushy or intrusive.  She came up with creative and effective "homework assignments" for me to stay calm and keep progressing labor throughout over 24 hours of surges/ contractions.  In the end, I birthed a large healthy baby without any tearing or excess bleeding, without an epidural or other pain management drugs.  I cannot imagine the birth of our second son without my talented doula - thank you, Katie!

From the first moment we met Katie, she made us feel comfortable and reassured. We liked her calm and knowledgeable demanor, and her unflappable support. Originally I had a plan for a low-medication, low-intervention birth, but health issues forced us to pivot quickly, with an induction needed. Katie was wonderful at helping me adapt my birth plan for the new circumstances, and helped me feel less worried about the change of plans.

At the birth, she stayed the entire time with us, and was so helpful during early labor with positions and counter pressure. She guided my husband in supporting me through contractions, and offered encouragement to both of us. And when I requested pain medication she helped advocate for me. My birth ended up having complications, and I was so grateful for Katie's continued support and coaching through the process. When our baby had to be assessed by doctors, she stayed by my side to help me cope, and was able to speak to the staff on my behalf. She truly was a wonderful, supportive, and calm presence during a challenging circumstance, and I am so grateful that she was there! If you are on the fence about hiring a doula, don't be! Having her there was worth every penny, since I would have had a much less positive experience without her there.

I cannot recommend Katie enough! We hired her to help with the birth of our first baby, especially with pain management since I was going med-free. Katie was very thorough before the birth with helping us prepare with labor positions, stages of labor, etc. A huge plus was helping me know when to go to the hospital; she definitely saved us a trip when I had prodromal labor for an entire day. When everything started happening at the hospital, Katie came and was an aboslute life saver! She was there for me as much as I needed during labor, which was also nice to reduce some of my husband's stress. It's hard to picture how I would've gotten through an unmedicated labor without her. She's also very sweet and has a calming presence. We definitely will recommend her to friends in the area as well as hire her for our future babies! :)

Katie was a wonderful doula for us. She was the doula for both my now two-year-old and my six-month-old. We asked her to be our doula for a second child because she did such a phenomenal job at our first child's birth. Katie made me feel safe, comfortable, and loved all throughout prenatal, postpartum and of course during labor and delivery. Both times she came to our house to help us get to the car. Her gentle and kind spirit made for such an inviting relationship right away. We plan to have her at our future births as well. She has become a friend to us now. you can tell just by talking to her for 2 seconds how much she loves her job, how much she loves the parents and the babies. Our faith is very important to us, which we shared with Katie right away, so there were even times where she prayed for us and with us, which meant so much! I can't say enough good things about working with Katie ??

My experience with Katie was a true blessing to myself and my family. Never having a Doula before with our first child i wasn't sure what to expect but Katie was able to help us all through it. From our first visit to the birth of our daughter i was able to always count on Katie for advice, support and anything else I needed for our big day. The knowledge she gave us before the birth was what we could expect and what she could give us was comforting.

Katie is very easy going and has a strong lead role when needed. She put the families needs and want first always.

We are truly blessed to know Katie and have had her during one of most amazing times in our life.

Katie was a god send for me and my family. I don't know what I would have done with out her. She was professional, knowledgeable, caring, emphatic. words do not describe her. All I can say is my birth experience went well because of her. I wouldn't change a thing.

Thank you Katie.

Katie was an excellent doula. She was a calm presence throughout my labor and eventually my unplanned c-section. It was hard to have an unplanned c-section but Katie was nonjudmental and held my hand during the surgery. She helped me breastfeed afterward and was very supportive. I highly recommend Katie!

We chose Katie to be our doula when I was about 6.5 months pregnant. We had finished baby/birthing classes and decided the we'd both benefit from a doula!

Our time with Katie was really helpful! As first time parents, we had no idea what to expect from labor/delivery, but Katie asked great questions and made us feel as ready as we'd ever be!

Choosing a stranger to help you through such a personal experience is kind of weird, but Katie made it feel easy and was supportive of all of our decisions!

When it came time to go to the hospital (and I was 3 weeks early!), Katie was there within the hour and stayed the WHOLE TIME (like 30+ hours). My husband and I were so glad she was there--it was comforting to have someone there supporting both of us.

If you're on the fence about a doula, do it! If you're considering Katie, definitely meet her to see if she's a fit for you!

Katie was our doula for the birth of our first Daughter in December. We were so grateful to have her on our birthing team. At first my husband was unsure about hiring a doula but once we met Katie he quickly changed his mind. To be honest there were so many things that I was completely clueless about when it came to delievering our baby. Katie provided us so much helpful information and encouraged us to make our own decisions that were best for our family. We truly appreciated that!

I had my daughter at 40w 6d. 6 days past my due date felt like an eternity. Katie was able to really help calm my nerves and keep me as sane as possible during that time.

When it came time to deliever Katie was amazing. She was helpful at the hospital to both my husband and I. She kept reminding me to breathe and offered different labor positions and techniques. She took photos for us as well and stayed for awhile after the baby was born.

I would recommend Katie to any family who is looking for a Doula. She really educated my husband and I that we do in fact have choices when it comes to our birth. We were so lucky to have her and will be using her again!

Katie was amazing. The exact kind of person you want in a doula! My birth experience was one of those you don't think will happen to you..induced 2 weeks early due to sudden elevated BP. My entire pregnancy up to then was flawless, no issues, no sickness, totally healthy mommy and baby the whole pregnancy..until 38w appt...Entire birth plan out.the.window. Katie was so great helping me through the emotional rollercoaster that comes with unexpected induction... but not only for me, having Katie there allowed my husband to get some rest during my 42 hour labor..him having the peace of mind knowning Katie was there for me was the only reason he was able to get a some rest. PSA TO ALL THE HUSABNDS (YES_SHOW THIS COMMENT TO YOUR HUSBANDS!!) HAVING A DOULA ISNT ONLY TO BE AN EXTRA SUPPORT FOR YOUR WIFE, ITS FOR YOU TOO!! TRUST ME!

Katie was all around a such a great experience. I will definitely be seeking her support for our future children.

We feel very lucky to have had Katie as our doula. She is very calm, kind, and caring. I had a very fast labor and I have to attribute some of this to Katie--I call it the Katie Method:) To summarize, she encouraged me to continue on with normal activities through early labor, encouraged me to stay relaxed, and then she encouraged me to labor sitting backwards on the toilet. I went from about a centimeter dialated to delivered in less than 2 hours!

Amazingly Katie made it to the MotherToBaby Center in about 20 minutes after I asked her to join us there. She thoughtfully made the room more inviting by putting out tea lights and dimming the lights. Then she got me feeling comfortable laboring on the toilet facing backwards with my head resting on a pillow. I truly appreciated her being there with me through tough contractions and pushing. I also really appreciated her quickly finding the nurse when things were starting to move fast. My husband and I were very thankful that she was there to keep me company when my baby (and husband) had to go to the NICU. She even ordered food for me and my husband and picked it up from the delivery guy!

I am very grateful to Katie for supporting us through labor and delivery. All women should be so lucky as to have Katie as their doula.

We really loved having Katie as our Doula.

I (Christine) loved how Katie really cared about what we wanted for the birth. She was a great source of evidence based information and was there before, during, and after labor as a source of encouragement and comfort. Her experience and peaceful presence were awesome and a big part of having the kind of birth we wanted!

I (Jason) was initially skeptical about the idea of having a doula at all. I was concerned she would somehow take my spot. That was definitely not the case. She was there to help me and answer my questions too and to help me to support Christine throughout the labor and delivery. She was worth her weight in gold.

We definitely highly recommend Katie Schram as a doula and plan to use her for all our other babies too.

My husband and I recently chose Katie as our doula to attend the birth of our daughter. Having had a long labor and difficult birth resulting in NICU time with my son 3 years prior (without a doula), we had a lot of fears and concerns with going through another birth.

We are so happy with our decision, as Katie met and exceeded all of our expectations! Prior to my delivery, she was always available to answer questions and would check-in frequently to see how I was doing. She went above and beyond to address all our concerns and help us formulate a birth plan (and even a back-up plan) which resulted in a very smooth, complication-free delivery. I wanted a labor that was as natural as possibIe and with minimal interventions, which she helped me achieve.

Throughout the labor she would assist me in staying comfortable during contractions (e.g. rubbing my back, offering me water) while encouraging me to move into positions that would help my baby find her way out. She reminded me that my body knows what to do, which helped during the times where labor seemed more difficult. She also helped my husband feel included in the birthing process, while encouraging him to take breaks once in awhile (e.g. grab lunch) while she stayed by my side.

It was so empowering to have such an enjoyable birthing experience for my daughter's delivery and helped me in reconciling some of the trauma I had from the birth of my son. I'm so thankful to Katie for her help, and highly encourage anyone looking to have a more positive and peaceful birthing experience to reach out to her. You won't be disappointed!

I worked with Katie for the birth of my two daughters. One was a home birth and the other at a hospital. Katie was a godsend in both cases. I see this not only because of the compfort she provides and the knowedge she has. Because, Katie's presence was comfotring. There aren't too many people when they are physically present you feel a sense of peace. Katie brings that into the delivery room. She is patient, focused and above all supportive. My last birth was very difficult and I had planned a natural birth and had given birth naturally twice however, this time it just felt different. Therefore, I was hysterical and wanted to get Epidural. The whole time I was crying Katie was there holding my hand massaging my back, and being a solid rock. At this time my husband was crying also. What was surprising was my daughter was there when I was about to get ready for the Epidural and did not need it. However, I was ashamed to not have pulled throug. And, I felt guilty for even requesting it. Katie was there to debrief with me at our postpartum visit and help me make sense of the birth. Birth is a joyfull event however, it can be trumatic too. And, Katie is the person I would chose to be there with me no matter the type of birth. I have recommended her to family, friends, and coworkers. I have full faith in her and will love to work with her for any future children I have. Thank you Katie.

I'm so happy we worked with Katie has our birth doula.  My husband and I had little to no idea of what to expect for the birth of our first child this year.  We didn't have a predetermined "birth plan"--we didn't even know what would go in a birth plan.  In our prenatal sessions Katie was SO patient in explaining different options and scenarios for labor & delivery, and very supportive and non judgemental about our ultimate choices including a scheduled induction and planning on getting an epidural.

On the day of, my husband got sick with flu-like symptoms and wasn't at his best.  Katie being there meant my husband was able to occassionally able to step back and rest without worrying about leaving me alone.  She was on double duty supporting both of us, and it made all the difference in the world!

Katie has checked in with us several times now that we're home from the hospital.  She brought over fresh food in our last visit :)  When I realized I would need additional support being at home with the baby, she recommended a great postpartum doula for me.

I can't recommend Katie enough.  At every stage--prenatal, labor and postpartum--she was just amazing!!!

Katie is a wonderful, supportive birth partner. She's a great doula! She is encouraging, helps make sense of complicated processes, acts as a calm guide, will take your little one's first pictures, will reassure your partner & conveniently schedules pre/post labor visits.

Katie did a great job as our doula. She was very responsive and flexible when scheduling meetings before and after the birth, and was very pleasant and easy to talk to. This was our second child so we didn't need as much education or help with our birth plan, but she was ready with information and resources if we needed them. When the time came, Katie got to the hospital to meet us right away and was a helpful and calming presence throughout the birth. I would highly recommend Katie as a doula.

I can't recommend Katie enough! I have delayed providing a review because there are really no words to use when someone helps/guides you through one of the most painful/emotional times of your life so all I can do is share what she did for me and once you experience labor then you will understand. I will quickly  state that we will be calling Katie for any future deliveries though!

I originally wanted a doula because this was my first labor and wanted to make sure we had someone to support not just me but my husband as well. My labor and delivery lasted around 30 hours, went against everything we had in our birth plan, resulted in a c-section and I required an additional surgery a few hours after the c-section. Katie never left my side and only slept when I was drugged to sleep for 1.5 hours. She was there to provide support when my husband and I were having to make tough decisions that conflicted with our birth plan but never pressured us or made us feel like we were making a wrong decision. I expected I would have back labor due to family history but I could have never predicted how painful it would be but Katie "held my hips together" through the majority of my contractions. I remember calling her name because my midwife was trying to apply pressure but Katie's touch was more effective.

There are plenty more examples i can list of reasons why Katie is an amazing doula during labor and delivery but I'll quickly run out of space. After we were home for a few days Katie came to visit our sweet daughter and offered some post-partum support as well (tips and education on post-partum depression) but we also chatted about the birth more which was really appreciated because it goes by quickly and your emotions are on overdrive. I should also mention prior to labor she checked in a few times via text and gave me some tips. Overall, was there for me and my husband before, during and after labor. <3

Katie was there for the birth of my first son. I had big goals to give birth naturally, un-induced, without intervention, and unmedicated. I achieved my all dreams and beyond. My birth experience was amazing and incredible and I owe some of that to Katie. I was texting Katie for hours before we met at the birth center. She sent me suggestions on ways to labor and cope at home. Katie stayed in touch every couple hours all night until I called her at midnight saying it's game time! She met us at the birth center right on time at 1am! Katie made sure that both me and hubby stayed hydrated during the 8 hours of labor at our birth center. She made sure we were eating and always checking to see if we needed anything. She offered suggestions when I ran out of ways to labor. She constantly applied back and hip counter pressure during contractions. During every contraction actually, she was applying pressure and saying encouraging words so I could make it through to the next contraction. She was quiet and let me labor in peace, but never left me. Katie was completly apart of my amazing birth experience! One of the greatest things she did for us was take photos of our new family without being asked. I wouldn't have even thought about it if she hadn't asked for one of our phones. Thanks to her, I have a little photo album and 1 video of my little baby taking his first breath. I couldn't be more grateful to have been matched with Katie!!

I was pregnant with my first baby so everything was new! Katie made me feel comfortable throughout my entire pregnancy. She answered questions that I felt embarrased asking anyone else.

When my water broke at midnight, she hung in with me during labor all night. I felt overwhelmed and scared, and Katie helped me feel calm. She is knowledgeable of techniques to make labor easier. My son arrived 13hrs later and it was a beautiful moment!

When I have my second, I'll give her a call!

My experience with Katie was amazing. I have anxiety and a very low pain tolerance and so I'd been very worried about the whole ordeal. She was very knowledgeable and reassuring about everything, and made me very comfortable. I had plans for vaginal delivery all set up when I found out I'd need a c section, and Katie helped me get a whole new relevant set of birth preferences together and gave great information. When the day came she was so supportive and there for me every step of the way. She made my birth experience as perfect as I'd hoped it could be, and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone! I will be contacting her if I ever get pregnant again!

I highly recommend Katie! Her calming and supportive presence was exactly what we were looking for in a doula. She is knowledgeable, skilled, and dependable. During our meetings before the birth, she made it clear that she was our advocate and wasn't judgemental about any decisions regarding our birth plan. When I reached out to her with questions or updates, she responded right away. During labor and delivery, she was right by my side making sure I had what I needed (water, massage, suggestions, etc.) while also being supportive of my husband (and mom!) as well.  She even took pictures for us right after delivery. We had a great birth experience and I know Katie was a huge part of that!

Katie Schram is a wonderful doula. I had an exceptionally long labor and she was so patient and comforting throughout the entire process from 10pm to 6pm the next day.  Because she was so calming and helpful, I didn't want her to ever leave my side.  Truly, I didn't think that I could have gotten through the painful contractions without she and my husband by my side.  I highly recommend Katie!

Being a first time mother, the thought of labor and delivery was petrified even though I took classes. I felt very graceful to have Katie. We met twice before giving birth and had a postpartum meeting. She taught me a few natural pain management strategies which were very helpful when I was in labor and delivery. I can honestly say that katie’s presence, alongside my husband, my mother were all the supports I needed in the delivery room. She is very patient and available when I had questions or needed someone to talk to. My husband and I were tremendously blessed by her and would love to recommend her to any mother.

My experience with katie was just awesome , i love that she took the time to get to know me and my likes and dislikes while i was pregnant and very much advocated for my needs and wants when i was delivering . She was a wealth of knowledge and anything she did not know she researched and came back to me, katie is very sweet and loving and made feel very comfortable wih her which made it easier in the weeks to come. She was supportive and encouraging and at the delivery room she was a big help . I would refer her to everybody and anybody she is amazing and caring and her services although they end after you deliver she keeps in touch and is always available for a chat.

I found Katie while looking for a doula to support an attempted VBAC after a very traumatic csection with my first child 6 years ago.  I also had a blended family where I needed a support person who wasn't judgemental of non traditional  families.

Katie was wonderful and supportive from the first meeting.  She was great about givving me questions about my healthcare providers policies that would support the birth I needed.

When I experienced 14 hours of prodromal labor, which continued for weeks and triggered a ton of trauma from my first birth experience,  Katie was patient and gentle and did so much to help guide me through the experience.

She also was very supportive when I elected to schedule a c-section following 3 weeks of prodromal labor. Having her present at the surgery did so much to keep my partner and I calm, and truly helped heal the trauma of my first birth by reframing similar experiences in my second birth in a different view.

I would recommend Katie as a doula to any mama ever, but especially for women who have experienced previous birth trauma.

We used Katie for our son's birth in October 2016. The pregnancy was full of anxiety due to a stillbirth in October 2015. Katie listened to our story and gave helpful suggestions on our birth plan. We met several times before birth and also gave updates through texting. She was encouraging and patient with us. My water broke around 7:30 at night and she met us at the hospital soon after. She walked the halls with me for several hours to help progress labor. She also assisted with positions in the tub and the ball. She gave helpful instruction to my husband and was very good with our nurses. We delivered a healthy boy by 6:30 am and Katie stayed about 1 hr after birth to make sure everything was fine. She also did a home visit 2 weeks after. We would recommend using Katie to everyone.

Katie was wonderful! Prior to our daughters birth we met with her a couple times to talk about our birth plan, address inks we may not have talked about, and talk about concerns. Katie joined us at our house before we went to the center and I can't tell you how helpful it was to have her there; both as a reassurance that the time was right to head over, as well as an extra set of hands. Through our birth she was exactly where I needed her to be when I needed it and empowered my husband to be able to better focus on just being there for me. Our birth experience couldn't have gone better and Katie was an integral part of making that happen!

Katie was our doula for the birth of our third child. We had a previous C-section and were very set on doing a VBAC! Katie was supportive and invested from the start. She helped me research different medical interventions that I did and did not want during my birth. She helped me brainstorm about topics I wanted to discuss with my doctor and the labor and delivery staff so there wouldn't be any suprises when we went to deliver the baby. She also helped me find good, creible resources for researching labor and delivery topics.

During the birth, Katie was with us all night! Her quiet, but supportive presence was reassuring to me and to my husband. She worked with me on different pain management strategies - essential oils, bathtub, counterpressure on my back. She also helped us keep nurse traffic to a minimum while I was laboring.

Katie's support and care for us during our daughter's birth was WONDERFUL! If I ever have another baby I will definitely be calling Katie to be my doula again.
