I feel incredibly lucky that I had the opportunity to work with Sufi. She exudes a bright, warm, calm, and nurturing energy, and I immediately felt comfortable with her when we first met.

I wanted to attempt an unmedicated birth and was in shock when I went through with it! I was able to do it because of Sufi’s support and guidance.

Here are some highlights of my experience working with Sufi:

* She was familiar with the hospital where I delivered. Because of this, she tailored my birth plan to the hospital. Many of my preferences were best practices there, so she kept my birth plan succinct.

* She had worked with my OBGYN many times. Knowing that she and my OBGYN worked well together (they each spoke highly of the other) in the past gave me a sense of comfort.

* She provided "by the book" recommendations and real-world examples from her own experience as a mother and a doula. She is active in the doula community and up-to-date on the latest American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines. Her advice is grounded in science and coupled with a deep level of empathy and kindness for the entire family unit.

* While laboring at home, she ensured I was comfortable, calm, well-rested, and fed.

* At the hospital, she advocated for me to use a breathing technique for pushing that the hospital staff was unfamiliar with.

* She provided countless tips and tricks that made pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum truly enjoyable.

* When I returned home from the hospital, my husband's mother screamed at me because she was upset about the way we were caring for our son. This incident shattered my confidence as a new mom. I am forever grateful to Sufi for providing our family with so much love and support during that time. She held space for me, which helped me to process the experience and rebuild my confidence.

I am excited to have another baby so that I can work with Sufi again! :-D

Sufi was absolutely amazing throughout the entire process from the initial phone call to the one hour post birth. I interviewed over 10 doulas and when I talked to Sufi, I knew she was the perfect fit for us. She held both qualities of nurturing/comforting presence and wisdom/ knowledge that I was looking for. Throughout the labor, she provided positions based on spinning babies, aromatherapy, massages, comfort/reassurance and so many more emotional and physical support that allowed my labor experience to be very memorable and special. It was a long labor but she stayed with us for the entire 31+ hours at home and in the hospital. We cannot recommend her enough and if we are going to have another baby in LA, we will definitely be contacting her again!

Sufi was  our doula for our first child, born in October 2021. I was anxious about the birth, and Sufi was an incredible support--we felt a connection to her, and she was supportive of whatever direction our hospital birth took--medicated, or otherwise. She was able to be in the room with my husband, and came to our home when I started to go into labor. We had been worried that we didn't know all the techniques ahead of time on how to handle the waves of contractions, but Sufi was there to guide me through it, and my husband as well. The delivery went extremely smoothly, and Sufi had an intution on when to move me into different positions to help the labor proceed, and she was right. Even when I was told to hold from pushing (nurse shift change!) Sufi was there to get me through it. We are so lucky to have met her, and to have worked with her. She also came post-partum a couple of times which was a huge reassurance, and guided us to lactation consultants when needed. Ahead of the birth, she gave a list of items to consider. I never felt pressured by Sufi to birth a certain way and in the end, I was able to do it unmedicated (I hoped to do so). I am more than happy to convey my experience in more detail, but I highly recommend Sufi if you're looking for an experienced doula with a calm and reassuring energy and someone who has seen many births.

Sufi was a godsend to our family When our second child was born. She is confident without ever being pushy. She is calm and cool and the kind of person you want around while navigating the first few months of new motherhood. I still miss the oatmeal she would have waiting for me in the morning. I really respected her as an authoriTy on babies and as a person. I would beg her to come back if i had another child. We are incredibly picky and private and she is just a really great presence to have around. If you need advice, she has it to give. If you don't, she's happy to be there in whatever way you need her. She's a truly remarkable woman.
