Cassandra is Amazing. Positive. Giving. A good listener. Loving. Encouraging. And so much more! She made a huge difference in my pregnancy and birth experience. As a first time mom, I had a lot of questions throughout and she was always available and more than happy to answer them. Her presence during my labor was invaluable. She made me feel safe and relaxed which I strongly believe resulted in my quick labor and delivery! She is also very experienced in many other areas of great help to new moms. It was very important for me to exclusively breastfeed and I credit Cassandra 100% for my success! She is a genuinely caring person and I will forever remember what she has done for me. I just can't thank her enough!! <3

Cassandra is such a kind and caring person who gave us constant emotional support throughout our birthing journey. She is full of helpful information, encouraging words, and will make you feel comfortable with whatever birthing plan you and your partner have. She really cares and loves what she does! I would recommend her to all soon to be mothers who are seeking support. She is amazing!

Cass was an absolute dream to work with. She attended my home birth in September and if I ever have another child, I'll be calling her again for sure. From our first meeting, she was friendly, relaxed, and eager to not just help me, but learn with me. She encouraged me to check in with her after each OB appointment and she was always ready to research any condition or concern with me. Throughout my pregnancy and now my postpartum period, she has been there whenever I need to encourage, reassure, or just listen. At my birth, she was extremely helpful with every little thing, from getting aromatherapy going, to reminding me to drink water, to calming my husband’s nerves so I could focus unhindered. She was my calm and collected cheerleader and I would not have wanted to do any of it without her. Now that I'm finally coming out of the postpartum haze, I can confidently say that I hired a doula and I found a friend.

Hiring Cassandra as my birth doula was the absolute best decision I made in preparation for the birth of my daughter.  I was a little late in deciding to explore the option of a doula; I interviewed and hired Cassandra on my due date.  But from our first meeting she made me feel confidant that I could do it, and so comfortable that I felt whenever I went into labor in the coming days I had someone I could trust and count on helping me along.  Throughout the following days Cassandra gave me invaluable tips and information. When I went into labor four days after my due date, I felt like I was finally prepared.  During labor Cassandra was amazing- I absolutely could not have done it without her.   She was by my side encouraging me and my husband and helping me through contractions the entire time, both at my house and then at the hospital.  I had a long birth, and Cassandra was there to encourage and support me every step of the way.  By the end of my pregnancy I was so uncomfortable and I was hoping I would go into labor early, but in the end I'm so glad my daughter was late enough for me to have the opportunity to include Cassandra in my birth experience.  I am so grateful to her, and I would highly recommend her- just don't wait as long as I did :)

Cassandra was instrumental to the successful execution of my birth plan. From our first meeting, she provided support and information to enable us to have the birth we wanted. I was interested in hypnobirthing, so she researched multiple methods in order to discuss and prepare with me. She was always available when needed and was knowledgable in all aspects of birth. Cassandra was essential to the success of my birth, in ways I couldn't have foreseen during pregnancy. My husband and I are grateful for her knowledge and persistence during the birthing process and her gentle coaching and motivating abilities. I highly recommend her for any type of birth!

Cassandra was truly an invaluable member of my birth team. I can't say enough about how helpful and motivating she was to me during the birth of my daughter. Along with being a wealth of information, she provided as much (or as little) support to myself and my husband as we wanted. Working together with the nurses and my doctor, Cassandra was instrumental in providing me with a calming atmosphere in which to labor as well as techniques to help me along. I look back on my labor and delivery with fondness and truly feel that I owe much of that to Cassandra. I can't recommend her enough!

How can I transcribe what is written in my heart and in my soul? My very being? Cassandra Cohn of “Around the Bend Doula” is a helpful guide who aids in the communication between the birthing mother and the rest of her support team. What happened between Cassandra, myself, and my family is deeper. Hope bloomed within me as I read her listing on Doulamatch. I appreciated Cassandra’s warm, understanding demeanor from our very first phone call; I had yearned for that heartfelt connection. The support that Cassandra provided during the emotionally rocky third trimester meant the world to me. I had many questions and ideas to express, and she responded to each message quickly and thoughtfully. Cassandra helped to stoke the fire of my Inner Power. My sweet baby Joseph and I honor you, Cassandra, for your enthusiasm and perspective on birth in today’s world!

I reached out to Cassandra after reading her profile on this site and immediately expressed my hopes and reservations regarding the doula care she could provide for my second birth. I was honest and somewhat blunt with her, but I’d never had a doula and wanted to make sure I understood what she had to offer. From that very first email, Cassandra understood my concerns and was able to provide the reassurance and information I needed. In every one of our subsequent conversations and meetings, and during my labor, I felt completely comfortable with her and wholeheartedly trusted her guidance. Her incredible passion for her work was always obvious to me and I had faith she was there for me 100%, in any way I needed. She went out of her way to research ideas and techniques I mentioned, or ones she thought may be helpful to me. Even though they had never met, Cassandra worked seamlessly with my midwife to give me the birth I always longed for, and I know it would not have been possible without her!
