Childbirth is my passion! I regularly attend various workshops, training's, and meetings in order to continually expand my knowledge base. I've participated in doula workshops, breastfeeding courses and teach childbirth education classes.
I am fortunate to have found Stacey, Sacred Mama Birth Services, in the nick of time, after debating if I would hire a doula for our second child’s birth. A different doula was part of our first child’s birth story, so I knew what a positive impact having a doula made for our family and delivery experience. From the minute my husband and I met Stacey, we were impressed by her calm demeanor, beautiful personality, professionalism, and experience, and we knew she would be exactly the person to provide the support we needed. I loved most that from the beginning, Stacey first wanted to get to know us and understand our needs, so she could encourage and support OUR own birth plan. She provided us with guidance and education to support the best plan for the baby and guided me in birthing technique and meditation practice to aid in a peaceful delivery. My daughter’s birth story was entirely different than my first, so I am grateful in our decision to have Stacey right by my side to assist with her quick arrival and natural birth. I will be forever grateful that Stacey was along our side and I would absolutely recommend her as a resource to any family looking for an experienced and trusted doula.
We hired Stacey as our postpartum Doula, and couldn’t be happier! Over the 12 weeks that she assisted us, our daughter developed a special bond with Stacey. I always felt supported, uplifted, and cared for by Stacey. She would often watch our daughter, so we could get some sleep. That made a huge difference! She would also help around the house, if we asked. And, Stacey helped us research topics, and always supported us fully in our parenting decisions. I always looked forward to her visits, and I highly recommend Stacey!
I could not have endured my all-natural, planned home birth without the kindness and sincere love that Stacey exemplified as my doula. During my long labor, Stacey supported me through it all, holding my hand during contractions, preparing and feeding me a smoothie when my strength wavered, massaging my back and shoulders, and supporting all 250 lbs of my weight as I leaned against her body for support. When special circumstances resulted in my transfer via ambulance to the hospital, Stacey was the first one there, waiting for me at the hospital to hold my hand, stroke my face, and calm my fears as I cried over the uncertain fate of my baby, who was whisked away to the NICU. The birth of my son was undoubtably the scariest and most difficult experience of my life, but the pure love Stacey showed me was unparalleled- and something I will forever be grateful for. Having Stacey as my doula was the best decision I made, and I thank the Lord for leading me to her.
Stacey is an awesome doula, she was so supportive through my pregnancy, but especially during labor and delivery. She listened to my cares and concerns and was a major support to my husband as well. I couldn't have asked for a better team. After the birth of my baby girl, all my midwives told me how much they loved Stacey and how they would add her to their list of doulas. She is awesome, and as long as I live in AZ she will be my doula.
I knew Stacey was the right match for me and my family as a Doula when I first met her.
I felt more calm and confident on embracing the natural birthing experience (no epidural) knowing that Stacey would be by my side to assist and guide me.
I would contact Stacey if I had any doubt or needed to just talk to someone even weeks prior to my labor. She would reassure me and share her knowledge and experience.
Having Stacey by my side was such a relief as my husband and I would consult with Stacey prior to making any decision the medial staff would suggest. Stacey was very supportive and encouraging throughout my labor (which was almost a day long!) and during the final hours of pushing.
Stacey is also very knowledgeable about breastfeeding and was very reassuring. She emphasizes that babies are not textbooks and that every baby is different.
I cherished my whole birthing experience with Stacey and will definitely have Stacey as my Doula again for my second baby. :)
We suggest getting a doula and we highly recommend Ms. Osbourne. We hired Stacy to help us with a VBAC. She was professional, on time, dependable and flexible. From the beginning, we asked her some tough questions and she gave us the correct responses. For instance, I asked her how she copes with fatigue in case there is a long 20+ hour labor. Stacy replied that when she gets into the labor room, she gets into “the zone” and becomes completely focused on our needs. Stacy accommodated our wish for a natural birth. Labor unexpectedly came two weeks early. Stacy arrived from a conference to attend our labor around 2am. Stacy believes in the strength of women, particularly during labor and birth. She demonstrated her belief during our most trying moments. During the transition phase of labor, Stacy was there for us and she had the most encouraging words. Her support made it possible for us to have a very positive birth experience. At a crucial time when we had to make decisions quickly, Stacy gave us some good advice, she was knowledgeable and dependable. She explained to us what was happening, the procedures and terminology, what was going to happen next, the pros and cons of each alternative, and her recommendation. She had a roadmap and a strategy during our time of need. Stacy performed amazingly. She also worked well with the nurses, and advocated on our behalf to the nursing staff and doctors. Finally, she was extremely respectful of and accommodated our Native American culture. We cannot express enough how thankful we are for Stacy. Thank you.
Stacey Osborne was a wonderful doula, coach, and support during my pregnancy with our first child, Julia. My husband and I planned to have an unmedicated birth and received a lot of good advice and resources from Stacey. Her calm reassuring presence helped me get through entire 22+ hour labor without having to get a C-section. Stacey was always available for questions/support. She quickly responds/replies to calls, texts and emails. Stacey’s passion and experience are clear when you talk with her. I am so glad Stacey was our doula! I highly recommend Stacey as a doula and counselor. =)
I really appreciated Stacey's support for my last months of pregnancy and labor. I am also a doula, and so I knew I wanted that personal support for me and my husband for our first birth, in addition to the hospital staff. I wanted someone who could help support my husband when I was absorbed in the birth and not able to make decisions well. Stacey helped us by initiating conversations as we prepared for the birth, and provided helpful info about vaccinations and pediatricians.
I had an unexpectedly short labor. 3 hours. We called Stacey after an hour of regular contractions, and she came to our home quickly. When she got there she helped me realize that I was probably way further along than I thought, and that we should get to the hospital. I had wanted to stay at home as long as possible, so I think without her I would not have recognized such a quick labor, and would not have acted soon enough to get there! Stacey made sure we didn't stop on the roadside on the drive, and held me as we walked into the hospital and my husband parked. She even walked herself backwards because that's how I felt more comfortable! We got into triage and I had the baby within twenty minutes. No time to get a room. After birth I knew I could ask Stacey to support me by rubbing my legs so I could relax as they stitched me up. She gave me a foot massage afterwards because things had gone so quickly I'd not gotten the one I was looking forward to during labor!
Even though things went so fast I didn't need the long-term support through hours of labor that I was expecting, I feel it was because we had Stacey that we got to the hospital. And even the little things made a huge difference. I didn't have to be alone as my husband readied the car. We had the benefit of an outside, educated perspective to make decisions. Even after birth she was willing to help however we needed. I recommend her as a capable and kind doula, and a lovely person!
My husband I relocated to Phoenix Arizona when I was 36 wks. We didn't know anyone, no friends/family, without MY OB - I felt alone at a time when I needed support. A friend said to get a doula. I had no idea what a doula was/did, I started researching. It wasn't just labor support; but emotional support and coaching throughout my pregnancy, labor, and post partum! I found Stacey at DONA.org and read her reviews, I reached out to her to set up a meeting. We connected and her presence and philosophy were very calming for me - which I knew was going to be important because I wanted a natural birth. She asked lots of questions to make sure she understood my wishes. We connected on a daily basis as questions would come up for me - always a quick response! During prenatal visits Stacey came to our home. We went through all the material she had prepared - delayed cord cutting, plancental encapsulation, pain coping mechanisms, etc. We talked in detail about how I envisioned labor, who would be there, my husband's role, and what would happen if things didn't go as planned. Stacey also showed us her 'tool bag' of pain relieving techniques. It was especially helpful for us because we talked through AND PRACTICED the different ways to cope. Birth support - and honestly words cannot explain how helpful she was. She came to our home around 4am and helped us until contractions were 4 minutes apart(6cm). We got into our room and settled in for a painful few hours; 11am we were ready to push, shortly after our girl arrived. Stacey continued to stay at the hospital for a while to help with nursing and make sure I didn't have any questions. She also came to our house 1 week post partum. The past 6 wks she has continued to be there to answer my questions and connect me to any resources I needed. Hiring her as our doula was worth every penny. My husbands response a few hours after birth was 'I am so happy we hired her, it was worth it.'
For my third birth, I knew I wanted and needed a doula. It was my first birth center birth and second vbac. I clicked with Stacey right from the first meeting. She has a calming presence and a way of being able to suggest things and direct people without it seeming like she's telling you to do something. My husband likes to be very involved in my births but didn't necessarily always know what to do. Stacey did an awesome job of guiding him and helping him to help me. Even when my sister and husband both got tired throughout the night she was always by my side. When I doubted myself and my body she did a great job of assuring me that my body was doing exactly what it needed to be. To say she was invaluable is an understatement. My husband was initially skeptical on hiring a doula. After our birth he said we could not have done it without Stacey. I would recommend her to anyone giving birth in a hospital or birth center since she is familiar with both!
Stacey was invaluable in helping me and my husband navigate all of the information and opinions out there about pregnancy and birth in order to come up with priorities for the kind of experience we wanted to have. She provided resources to help us make informed choices, and, importantly, was completely supportive of all of our decisions. Stacey made me feel in control of the process and comfortable with the idea of giving birth in the manner I wanted. During labor and delivery, Stacey's coaching was extremely helpful. She was a calming presence in a really stressful time, and had exactly the kind of guidance I needed in order to focus on what I had to do (how to breathe, how to concentrate, how to push) to have a happy and healthy baby. Overall, I really appreciated the experience, support, and serenity that Stacey brought to my pregnancy and birthing process.
Stacey is amazing! From the beginning to the end, she's just amazing: kind, helpful, calm and exactly the kind of person you want with you when you're trying to push out a 8lb 12 oz baby boy! ?? My husband and I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in having a doula.
Words cannot describe how much I valued my experience with my Doula, Stacey. With Stacey’s calming, knowledgeable and professional demeanor she was able to attend not only to the physical demands of my labor and delivery but my emotional well-being too. I could not imagine delivering my daughter without Stacey. She also provided insight from her own experience as well as many resources that were tailored to my needs which I have found helpful. I would recommend Stacey to anyone who is interested in having a Doula.
