Mara was an excellent doula during the births of both of our children. She has a calming and attentive presence, which helped through a very long labor. Her personal experience with natural childbirth was also reassuring. Mara also provided some postpartum emotional support, which was so helpful. Our family highly recommends Mara as a doula!

I cannot recommend Mara highly enough! From the very beginning of my pregnancy journey, she was an incredible source of knowledge, support, and reassurance. She helped me establish a thorough birth plan, took the time to research my many questions around vaccines and interventions, and guided me through various techniques to use during labor. Her dedication was evident in the way she made herself available at all times, even doing multiple home visits to help us prepare for delivery.

Although my birth took an unexpected turn, resulting in an unplanned C-section, Mara was right there by my side. She came to the hospital as I labored, assisting with positioning and advocating for my birth plan. Her calm energy, unwavering support, and even her sense of humor made all the difference in the moment.

After our baby was born, we faced another challenge—our little one spent a week in the NICU. Mara continued to be a pillar of support, checking in frequently, visiting the hospital, and offering the emotional encouragement my husband and I needed during such a difficult time.

If you’re a first-time mom looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable, and deeply supportive doula, Mara is the one you want by your side. She truly goes above and beyond, and we are so grateful to have had her as part of our journey!

My family and I are so grateful we were able to have Tamara be apart of our first birthing experience. We were told by the original Doula we hired that in "very rare cases" a backup Doula may be sent to our birth if an emergency occured. Thinking it would never happen to us... It did! For whatever reason the original Doula could not be there. The stars and the moon must have been aligned because we had the pleasure of having Tamara. We met her as we were walking in to our hospital room, 5 centimeters dilated and feeling confused about what was about to happen. Tamara introduced herself, grabbed my hand and took the long 15hr or so ride with me. She talked me through every contraction, walked with me, laughed with me and understood I was scared, anxious and excited all at the same time. She was right there with me every step of the way and didn't complain when I would accidentally squeeze her hand too tight. She was so encouraging, compassionate and giving during the labor process. I feel like I could not have had the type of birth I wanted without her. I wanted an unmedicated birth and she was right there with me reminding me that I could do it and to breathe... sometimes I would forget, so it was nice to be reminded. Tamara is truly amazing and I am glad the universe picked her to be our birthing angel.

I can't say enough about her and the kindness she showed to me and my family. I know that if I were able to be blessed with another child I would want her by my side.

Tamara, thank you so much! I really feel like you were placed in our path for a reason. You were such a ray of light when I needed it the most. I never thought I would be a mom and you made the birthing experience beautiful for me. I hope my son absorbed some of your amazing energy and compassion as he entered the world. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.

Having a doula for my birth, specifically Tamara Buck, was the best money I've ever spent in my life! She helped me face my worst fears about giving birth head on before going into labor and her experience with many other births put me at ease. Tamara stayed with us through the whole process and even came to our house when I was in the beginning stages of labor to help me naturally try to get my labor to progress. Having a doula, Tamara in particular, helped me have the confidence to keep pushing even after 41 hours of labor to achieve my goal of giving birth vaginally and AVOIDING a c-section! She supported everyone not just me, but my wife and my mother who were also with me through the entire birthing process. Anyone who is pregnant or plans to get pregnant should consider using a doula. After our fantastic experience I HIGHLY recommend Tamara Buck! Also I feel it's pertinent to note that Tamara is not only LGBTQ friendly but has experience working with LGBTQ couples which we found useful as a lesbian couple.

Tamara is a wonderfully nurturing and supportive doula. She helped me make the best of a very long and challenging labor. She provided friendship and guidance before, during, and after the birth of our baby. I highly recommend Tamara as a doula!
