About DoulaMatch Group Profiles
Group profiles allow groups of two or more doulas to appear in DoulaMatch search results. Group profiles will help agencies, partnerships, associations, collectives and hospital doula programs differentiate themselves from individual profiles by highlighting that multiple doulas are part of the group.
Prospective clients will see group profiles alongside individual doula profiles in the DoulaMatch search results. Clicking through to view details about the group profile displays information about the group and includes a list of the individual doulas with links to their profiles.
The group profile contains profile information more accurate for groups. Availability calendars for birth and postpartum services, service area and testimonials are still part of group profiles.
Getting Started
If you already manage an existing profile that contains two or more doulas, please convert that profile to a group profile now. Don't worry, all testimonials associated with the profile will remain.
To create a new group profile, you will need two DoulaMatch accounts, each with a different email address. One account will be for your personal individual profile, and one will be solely for managing the group profile.
Once you create the group profile, you may search for and invite doulas to confirm they should be listed under your group profile.
Search Results
Group profiles appear side-by-side with individual doula profiles in search results. They are formatted to differentiate them from the individual profiles.
Doula Groups Currently Using Group Profiles
Each group profile also comes equipped with a special URL for a search page which will only show doulas who are members of the group. For an example please see the Doulas of Victoria Search page (try searching for postal code V8N1A1) and the list of all Doulas of Victoria doulas.
With a little custom web development, you also have the option to integrate DoulaMatch search results just for your group within your own web site. For an example please see the Portland Doula Association website.
Group profiles are an extension of prior work by DoulaMatch in support of the following organizations:

DoulaMatch is the search engine used by Swedish Medical Center's hospital doula program. It is an example of an organization using it for their own private in-house search engine. Swedish Medical Center staff use a special DoulaMatch search page, specific to their organization, to manage their internal doula referral process. This capability is now available to all doula businesses and organizations.

In addition to being used by profit-seeking doula firms, group profiles may also be used by local non-profit doula professional organizations.
Our guiding principle while designing group profiles was that the individual doula will always be in control. Doulas must be invited to join a group profile and will need to confirm that they accept the invitation. A doula may remove their association to a group profile at any time.
Each doula may have only one individual doula profile. Doulas may not maintain separate individual profiles on DoulaMatch for purposes of marketing their services differently under different group profiles. The only situation in which multiple individual profiles are allowed is where the doula maintains a residence and practice in two separate locations more than 100 miles apart from one another. Individual doula profiles must list the doula's first and last name.
Doulas may be members of more than one group profile. Most commonly this would happen if you are a member of one or more local professional organizations in addition to booking clients under a shared practice.
It is up to each business to manage how they collect testimonials: whether clients are asked to submit testimonials at the group profile level, the individual doula profile level, or both.
It is up to each business to manage consistency across group profile availability calendars and the availability calendars of the individual doulas who are members of the group. When viewed in the context of a date-based doula search, individual doula availability for the search date is indicated on group profile pages.
Group profiles are currently made available on the same modest sliding scale annual fee schedule as individual profiles. Doulas may join as many group profiles as they like at no additional cost.
