The morning of April 21st, 2024, after spending 2 weeks on bed rest at St. Joseph's & being induced, I woke up & told my nurse, "I'm tired of being in bed. I don't want to lay down all day, can we do some stretching or exercises to speed this up." Luckily for me, Jordan was volunteering that day, so my nurse grabbed her & we got to work. We went from laying on my back, to side ways, & doing step ups . I did everything she asked, because I truly believe in Jordan from the second I met her. We started at about 10am & took a break for lunch & hopped back into it. I can admit that the doctor did discourage me when he told me last nights Dr measured my cervix wrong & I wasn't actually at a 6, I was at a 4. They also continued to threaten me with getting a c-section at the end of the day. With that being said, Jordan stuck by my side & adviced me through it all.
Despite being discouraged, we continued to work on speeding up the delivery. (Did I mention my goal was to try to make it through without an epidural? I told Jordan this from the beginning & she coached me through the pain & process.) By 3:30pm I started feeling the stronger contraction & by 4:45pm I pushed out my baby.
My baby was taken down to the NICU & Jordan stuck by my side as my husband went with our baby. Through it all, Jordan was everything I needed: empowering, experienced, nurturing & reassuring. She waited with me until we got moved to recovery, helped me with using the pump, & gave me a couple of resources.
We were in the NICU for about 23 days & Jordan went out of her way to go see my son a couple times & continues to check in to see how we are doing ! Jordan has a special place in our hearts & I 1000x recommend her to anyone & everyone !
