Testimonial for Britt Sando CD(DONA), LCCE, IBCLC

I always say “everything happens for a reason.” It was my third pregnancy and my doula for the first two had retired. Then we found out there were two babies and I was on a mission to deliver vaginally. We became friendly with our original doula, so knowing who I was she recommended Britt. Britt was easy going and calm, she had dedicated her life to supporting women, with her background on childbirth, postpartum and breastfeeding. She seemed a good fit from the beginning but really she was more than that. She was MEANT TO BE! She was available on the phone for long late night conversations filled with worry over pregnancy complications and when things got difficult with medical providers.  If it wasn’t for her I may not have been guided to the provider and practice who supported my decision to birth twins vaginally. I believe my dreams came true because I had Britt on my team! I remember the simple things like how she thought I looked hot so she grabbed a fan for me from her bag, or how she held my leg so I didn’t fall off the tiny metal table they made me deliver on in the OR! And of course, the priceless pictures and videos of the births of our third and fourth babies that we wouldn’t have if it wasn’t for her. She knows how to be present and calm or be supportive and proactive when need be.  Sadly, two weeks after the twins were born my sister delivered at 20 weeks and lost her baby.  I was struggling with emotions, not sure how to deal with the loss and worried about my sister.  I called Britt, she talked to me and helped me during that difficult, depressing time and I will certainly never forget that. Well now two years have passed, the boys were born at 6:11am and 6:22am on June 15, 2022. I haven’t had much time to myself with 4 young children and work and juggling the journey of life but I never have forgotten Britt and knew I was going to write this review one day because she deserves it.
