At the beginning my husband was very hesitated about hiring a doula because of our tight budget, and he was not sure how a doula would be able to help us in the delivery room. But after the whole 39 hours of labor and delivery, we are confident to say that Stephanie was worth every penny. My husband was impressed by how she stayed up with me the whole time when we were in the hospital which was 24 hours), so he could take naps. She was there when I was in so much pain, she brought her tense unit, and was doing the double hip squeeze to me whenever a contraction hit. She helped me made the decision to get an epidural when I needed it the most. I couldn't do it without her being there.
