My girl, Katie, has been a friend of mine for about 15 years now. We’ve been through many seasons of life together. We’ve experienced college, sorority life, marriage, and now motherhood since we’ve known each other. She was my doula (with my son born in 2021) which I prayed about years before I ever knew I would have him. My pregnancy and birth were incredibly different than many of her previous clients (global pandemic and changing hospital policies made things difficult). But through it all, she worked tirelessly to support me, my husband, and our baby. Katie even provided me with postpartum support at home so I could get some necessary things done (besides holding and feeding my child).
