Justine and her group were all wonderful resources in preparing for the arrival of our daughter - providing resources, suggesting other professionals as needed, and offering reassurances to any doubts. Justine has such an encouraging and energetic presence; we were very exited for the birth!
As it happened, our daughter presented with intolerance to labor shown as pronounced heart rate decelerations about 2 weeks before her due date. Justine came directly from another birth to wait nearby as things unfolded. The attempt at induction did not last long and so Justine was able to join us right away when we proceeded with a cesarean section. Her affirmations of our decision continues to be of comfort even now as we process the birth.
Justine’s presence in the OR was invaluable to both me and my Husband. She was able to wait with my husband prior to the procedure, and join in the OR - sitting with us throughout, taking photos, and offering comforting words. Her continued presence when my Husband accompanied baby during the baby’s initial checks was wonderful. The photos have proven great to remember and process the experience as it all happened so quickly! Justine was super helpful in getting baby set up for initial skin to skin and the doctors completed the sutures. The OB was quite impressed that baby was breastfeeding upside down on me while still in the OR!
Postpartum, Justine continues to be a wonderful resource - quickly answering our questions and being a sounding board to quell any self-doubts. It is clear that Justine is a wealth of knowledge for labor positions and comfort - and we only hope we can experience it first hand at the birth of our next babe!
