Testimonial for Midwest Doulas- Doulas, Placenta Encapsulation
My previous two births were very traumatic for labor, delivery, and postpartum. After my first birth, a friend strongly suggested I get a doula. I used Midwest Doulas during my second pregnancy and labor. It was such an improvement from my first experience, I knew I needed their help again for this third. This time I made sure to spend more time letting them know how my pregnancy was going and my feelings on the labor and birth. Because of that, I feel Justine was able to really get to know me and give me exactly the support I needed. During this pregnancy, I received plenty of tips and support to navigate my discomforts, worries, and complications. And during labor, Justine kept me focused to prevent me from getting anxious and dwelling on my past experiences. She also helped alert us to possible decision points so we were prepared with our choices instead of feeling rushed, pressured, or overwhelmed. In all, Justine made my pregnancy and labor more relaxed and focused.
Even though I ended up with an uncontrollable complication during delivery, she made sure I could navigate postpartum with tips on caring for myself, my newborn, and my other children. We also hired them for postpartum services. Christina provided much needed relief to me and my husband. As soon as she walked in, she took charge and offered ways to help around the house and with my children. Both my children loved her; she played with them naturally and with joy. Her expertise and advice for baby wearing are much appreciated. It's made transitioning with a newborn much easier.
I am so grateful to Midwest Doulas for how wonderfully they've supported me during my most trialing pregnancy and birth. I love my doulas!
