Testimonial for Graciela Navarro
It was my first Labor to have Graciela with me. It was a great support because I have family members, but they never told me what to do. Graciela told me what exercise to do before and during my labor. She was very kind; she told me what to do, and I also needed to cooperate with her; it was only her job to tell me what to do. On the other hand, I was the only one who decided what to tell the doctors about medicines for pain and things like that. Something constructive is that she gave me a massage, which managed the pain. She supported my breathing, how to breathe, counting, and what positions I had during my labor. I gave Graciela the honor of cutting my baby's umbilical cord for the great job she did with me. She stayed with me almost the whole time because she had a meeting at work. I went in at noon on Thursday afternoon. She finished on Saturday and stayed with me on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for three days until I had my baby. Most of the nurses and the hospital knew Graciela, and they said to her, "You are a great doula," "You are doing a great job, Graciela." Graciela's work refers to those words.
