My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that certification is just the beginning, not the destination. Too often, doulas finish training inspired but uncertain with knowledge but not the tools to build a business. I’ve made it my mission to change that. I teach with a hands-on, real-talk approach that blends strategy with compassion. My style is warm, encouraging, and momma-like, but also firm when it comes to boundaries and business growth. I create a supportive, judgment-free space where doulas can bring their fears and goals and leave with actionable steps. My philosophy is shaped by my own journey. I became a mom at 18, a wife at 23, and a business owner while raising three children. Building Massagemomma into a thriving practice over the past 15 years taught me that success isn’t about hustle or luck — it’s about clarity, courage, and consistency. That’s what I pass on to every doula I mentor. I bring the perspective of both a birth worker and a business coach. In the birthing room, I learned the importance of advocacy and intuition. In business, I learned the power of systems, pricing, and mindset. When I teach, I bring those worlds together: the heart of birth work and the head of entrepreneurship.
