- Training offered
- Holistic and physiologically informed birth and postpartum doula training
- Summary of qualifications
- 10 years in birth work, mostly in the capacity of an apprentice midwife. My beginning years were serving in the role of birth doula primarily in hospitals, which led me to pursue midwifery in 2015 through the Midwive's College of Utah. I have taken dozens of trainings and synthesized all that I have learned and experienced into this training that will prepare you to serve in the role of birth and postpartum doula. For more information and full CV please check my website.
- Style of teaching
- I am a mother of 6 daughters, and a woman who has birthed 4 babies, 1 in the hospital as a transfer, and 3 at home. I believe birth belongs to women, and as birth attendants our best outcome is that we were welcomed into the space but not needed. I teach women to empower other women through storytelling, grounded information that lands in the body, and modeling a grounded nervous system. I teach how to support physiological birth as nature designed, starting with prenatal care and using connection as the most important tool- connection to their partner, the earth, their baby. I teach about the importance of safety, darkness, warmth, privacy, honoring the sacred in both birth and postpartum. I teach about how to know what is needed without asking, and how to know when to be and when to do. These are things that can't truly be taught, but I can give you a hint at them- the rest will be learned on the job as you sit with women in birth.
