Presentation by: Nancy Mohrbacher, IBCLC, FILCA This presentation provides a chronological analysis of recommended approaches to positioning and latch during the newborn period and a research-based summary that clarifies which approaches make early breastfeeding easier, which make it more difficult, and why. We will discuss the information needed to implement a simplified breastfeeding initiation strategy designed to make early breastfeeding easier for both helpers and families and reduce the incidence of latching struggles, as well as breast and nipple problems. This talk also includes a basics checklist and free online resources to share with families. Registration is required by 12:00 PM EST on 05/15/2025. You may view the recorded webinar for credit until 5:00 PM EST on 06/16/2025. This webinar has been awarded 1.5 L-CERPs by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners and 1.5 CEs will be provided by Indiana University Health.
