This important client care workshop focuses on understanding and healing the effects of patient sexual abuse and other trauma on childbearing people. This course equips professionals working with childbearing individuals with the knowledge and skills to support pregnant, birthing, and postpartum people who have experienced trauma. This one-of-a-kind training, is the culmination of decades of collaboration between Penny Simkin, PT, CCE, CD(DONA), and Phyllis Klaus, MFT, LMSW. Together they also wrote the 2004 book of the same name, When Survivors Give Birth. Join prenatal health, mental health, and other allied providers to focus on the important and often overlooked topic of how trauma can impact the perinatal period. An introduction for anyone who works with childbearing people and wants to learn about the impact of sexual trauma on the birth experience.
