Fat Positive Provider Workshop

Big Fat Pregnancy provides inclusive care for folks living in larger bodies as they navigate pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We know that clients are just one piece of the puzzle and they are not responsible for fixing provider bias. Big Fat Pregnancy provides the foundational education around weight stigma, bias, and current research to better understand how fat patients can and should be treated - with respectful, compassionate, size inclusive care. With this dream, we created the Fat Positive Provider Workshop. A three-hour intensive workshop to unpack weight bias, understand what we mean when we say fat positive and learn some basics when supporting fat folks. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of weight inclusive care, create community with other birth workers, and a list of tangible action items to implement and improve your care. Take this knowledge and bring to your co-workers, friends, and family so we can normalize size inclusive care in birth!
