I was single mother, and as my due date approached, I needed to find a stand-in 'dad/partner' for my labor and delivery. I wanted this person to be someone I could trust and someone who would support me in a vulnerable situation. I asked my dear friend, Angela, if she would help me through the birth of my daughter.
I couldn't have chosen a better person to be by my side through the excruciating labor pains, contractions, walking the hospital hallways...she wiped my brow and held my hand, as I pushed my sweet girl into this world.
