Debbie was our doula 2/3 nights a week when our son was born. She was a LIFE SAVER. First, Debbie is incredibly experienced and has helped hundreds (maybe more?) of families. You will be able to tell this from the first time she holds your baby. Debbie is able to adapt to any circumstance and surrounding, and quickly learned the ins-and-outs of our home, our baby, and his “schedule.” She has “seen it all” and nothing phases her. She was able to show us tips and tricks for calming our son who had colic. Our son also has a bad case of reflux and Debbie had many amazing suggestions for helping to ease his discomfort. Debbie is a professional through and through. She handles the baby’s night waking’s, brings the baby to the Mom (if breastfeeding) and, if you are pumping, brings you pump parts in the middle of the night. She handles organizing and putting the milk away and washes bottles and any pump parts. Whether it was holding our son when he struggled, expanding sleep stretches in his bassinet or transition to the crib, Debbie handled it all with ease! She is flexible in any situation and deferrential to the parents but not shy to offer advice based on her years of experience.
When the time came, Debbie also assisted us with a 3-night sleep training program that taught our son how to soothe himself and get back to sleep independently. While I feared the dreaded "sleep-training", Debbie was amazing and it was a joy to see our son learn that he could soothe himself and get back to sleep. After that program, our son became an amazing sleeper - sleeping 7:30 am – 7:30 pm. We are forever grateful to Debbie for her assistance and teaching during this period; she was there for us when our family needed a true specialist but she also armed us with the know-how to handle those situations in the future. We could NOT recommend Debbie more.
