We were so torn whether or not to use a doula for the birth of our first kid. We had pretty much decided not to until we took our birthing class with Karishma. She instantly made me feel so comfortable. She has had a ton of experience and it shows. She set a peaceful environment with oils and music, and was the perfect mix of professionalism and also like having a close friend there. Overall, she was exactly the kind of person I needed to make my goal of an unmedicated birth less intimidating. My labor was fairly short, but there were multiple points where she knew just what I needed and made a huge difference. She never overstepped, but knew the moments to encourage a change in position, press on my hips and provide the support and encouragement I needed. I can honestly say, I don’t want to have a baby without her there now!
