Lauren was essential to my birth. I could not have done it without her. She's warm, kind, and meets you where you are - whether you're a natural mama, an epidural mama, or a C-section mama.
My goal was to go unmedicated as long as possible, and to have labor inducer naturally as much as possible. Because of my gestational diabetes diagnosis we had to get induced before labor naturally started, but Lauren was ready every step of the way. She provided very early on stretches to try, comfort measures for us to be familiar with, and resources to check out.
Lauren was available and supportive by text whenever I had questions or just wanted to vent to someone.
But the most important and crucial part for me was how she showed up for me on the day of labor and delivery. I knew I wanted a doula because I wanted someone who would be my coach when I needed it, cheerleader when I needed one, and hypnobirth guru.
Because our labor ended up fast, her skills in hypnobirth coaching were essential to our success. Going unmedicated is not easy, but without an incredible doula to help guide breath, give mantras, coaching the whole time, I simply don't think I could have done it.
Lauren was core to our birth team. I already plan on working with her again and recommending her to all local moms.
