Angela is a very caring and kind lady. When my husband and I first met her, I instantly felt that she would be the right doula for us. We just seemed to mesh well.
My pregnancy ended up being one of the worst experiences of my life. I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum throughout my entire pregnancy. I was depressed and sick every single day. While Angela did give us some recommendations on what to do and came to be with me and my husband while I was in Urgent Care, I did feel that she didn't check in on me as much as I would have liked. She did tell me to call her whenever I needed something. Some times when I would call or text, my call or text went unanswered for a few hours.
I would sometimes joke with my husband that she returned his texts quicker than she would return mine. That's how it seemed sometimes.
My labor and delivery was pretty smooth. I did feel that she was more help to my husband than she was to me. That's fine. I'm glad that he had someone there to be with him since I just wanted to focus in on laboring and getting my baby out.
Her postpartum visits were helpful and she helped us get a few hours of sleep when we were really sleep deprived. She even washed dishes and did laundry for us. Super helpful.
She was also great with my daughter which was very reassuring to me.
Overall, my experience with Angela was nice. I just think that if you are having a really hard pregnancy, you may need someone who has more experience with that since you will be very needy and need more support and care.
