Having Marissa as our doula was hands down one of the best decisions we made. She brought so much calm, confidence, and positivity to an experience that can easily feel overwhelming. From the very beginning, she made me feel completely supported and truly listened to. What stood out the most was how she respected and championed my birth preferences every step of the way. She was there with evidence-based advice when I needed it, and she always supported me to make my own decisions!
Her presence during labor was so grounding - she helped me stay calm and focused, even in the moments when things got really intense. My labor was a dream, and I think a part of that was due to Marissa’s continual support and calming effect she had on me. She made me feel like I was secure in a time where I might have been unsure. From coaching me through hypnobirthing, signs of labor, and when to go to the hospital - I truly felt like I was confident to have my first child. And when the time came, my husband and I had no fear! Labor itself was awesome, it felt like an old friend was there helping me bring my first child into the world. We laughed, we cried, and we experienced a bond that will never be forgotten! (Making myself tear up here ??)
Because of Marissa, I felt so much more prepared and confident navigating those first few days of parenthood. She gave us the tools, but even more importantly, she gave us the emotional support to trust ourselves and the process. I can’t recommend Marissa enough. ????
