We hired Adara for my second birth, having not used a doula in my prior birth. We were so glad that we made the decision to work with her! She was wonderful in offering physical support during labor and was always ready with an idea of another position/strategy/idea to try to support labor progress and manage the contractions. Her presence offered my husband a greater capacity to be present to me as he was not having to make suggestions of changing positions or analyze how labor was progressing himself. She was also incredibly supportive when our son had to be taken to the NICU immediately after birth and my husband went with him. I shudder to imagine those moments without her present. I would readily recommend Adara to other individuals seeking a doula.
