We can’t recommend Sam and Ildi enough as doulas—they were absolutely incredible throughout our journey to becoming first-time parents. From the start, they went above and beyond to ensure we felt prepared and supported every step of the way.
Before the birth, they visited our home twice to help us get ready and to build a strong connection. They answered all our questions immediately and thoroughly, giving us the tools and confidence to prepare for the big day. What stood out was how they never pressured us to make any particular choices; they empowered us to make our own decisions and supported us wholeheartedly. Periodically, they sent over emails with extremely vital information about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and baby care. They also introduced me to Spinning Babies, which helped a lot in optimal fetal positioning.
During the birth, they were invaluable. Ildi came to our apartment, drove us to the hospital, and made sure we were fully prepared for the experience. Her calm and organized approach helped us stay focused, and everything went so smoothly—something we attribute in large part to their expertise and care. I had a relatively fast birth and we would not have known the correct time to get to the hospital had Ildi not been around!
After the birth, Sam and Ildi continued to be invaluable to our life as first time parents. Ildi came by multiple times to help us settle in, guiding us through our baby’s first bath, introducing us to activities to engage with our newborn, and offering emotional support that helped relieve so much of the stress that comes with being new parents.
We are so grateful to have had Sam and Ildi by our side during this life-changing time of becoming first time parents. If you’re looking for compassionate, knowledgeable, and incredibly supportive doulas, look no further. They’re truly amazing!
