My doula was Esther. I loved the experience of having her as my doula. She gave me and continues to give me great support from pregnancy to the difficult adjustment of a first-time mother. She went above and beyond her duties as a doula. I felt supported throughout the entire process, even until now that my baby has 2 months, she sends me good resources, answer all of my questions, show love and support. She helped me have the birth I wanted, natural, without anesthesia or any medical interventiont.
She couldn't be there on the day I gave birth because she was in another birth that was occurring at the same time as mine. She sent a substitute doula who also helped me throughout my birth process. Her name is Isabelle Montgomery She was perfect and essential for me to achieve the birth I wanted. She was with me and my husband at all times. She encouraged me not to give up when the pain increased. She gave massages and talked to the nurses about my birth plan. She made sure I could have the best birth possible, and I did. My entire birth plan was followed and accomplished. She also brought us food after my birth, which showed how much she cared. Even though it was not possible for Esther to be present on the day of the birth, she made sure that I was supported by another amazing doula. And the preparation with Esther before the birth was essential and crucial so that I could be prepared for the birth. At all times I felt supported and cared for! The two doulas Esther and her back up are wonderful and I would do it all over again in the same way.
