So here's the thing. Julie wasn't my doula. I didn't have one. But it's my biggest regret and after I interviewed her and decided to just go it alone (really only bc my mom did it all natural in a hospital by herself and I thought if my mom did it surely I can do it with an epidural alone LOL ) Boy was I wrong. Julie checked on me consistently and I wasn't even her client. That shows what kind of person she is. She cared when she didn't even have to. She checked on me even after my son was born and you can't pay for that type of kindness. I ended up with a c section and maybe it would have been that way either way but I can't tell you I didn't have a great experience w the nurses in my hospital and I know she would have made me feel more at ease. Don't make the same mistake I did --you need a doula --it makes all the difference. If only just to have someone there who specifically cares about you. Julie made me feel like she cared and I wasn't even a paying client. That's the type of person you want in the room. ??
