McKenna made it clear how intentional she was in building a strong relationship and understanding for our goals, questions, hopes, and fears around the birth and postpartum experience. She was a gentle and supportive guide throughout the whole process. Her involvement was invaluable during our labor and postpartum for both myself and my wife.
There were many reasons we prioritized having a doula; especially as a queer couple in a primarily cis/hetero space of a hospital (even with a supportive medical team) we would want another layer of advocacy so we could focus on each other and our baby. McKenna’s presence gave us such peace of mind and comfort. We’re forever grateful to have her as part of this transformative experience of becoming parents and welcoming our daughter into the world.
