As a L&D nurse, I know how crucial it is for. families to have the support of doulas. For my second pregnancy I knew I want doula as I never had one during my 1st pregnancy. I had the fabulous Labor Doula, Jennifer Michal-Wilson of La Belle DDoulal, LCC.
I reached out to JJennifer back July 2024. After seeing her Instagram page with videos of her supporting families, I knew I wanted someone like her. After our 1st consultation session, we had an instant connection. Also, her prenatal education and in-person labor preparation class was easy comprehend and use evidence based research.
During my long induction and switching hospitals, Jennifer continued to provide my husband and I, kindness and words of wisdom. I will never forget how respected, seen, and loved I felt in her care. Even more so her work ethic was observed by the nursing/ OB team at Montefiore Medical Center. They were impressed by skills and labor preparation for me.
My deliver ended up as a csection- but there was peace. There was no trauma or lost of control. We prayed and gave thanks to the Most High for his blessings. We welcomed our baby girl Earthside with a song-- it something I will forever cherish.
Lastly, Jennifer continued to check on us via text messages and zoom postpartum sessions. I enjoyed those sessions to ask about breast feeding or other questions.My husband and I are grateful for birth preparation expertise of Jennifer.
