If you're on the fence about hiring a doula do it now. You will not regret it. My ONLY regret is not hiring Austin (+ the Birth Collective) earlier in my pregnancy journey. This was my first pregnancy and birth. I had many questions, nerves, and unknowns along the way and truly felt I could turn to them for resources and a peace of mind. Again, my only regret is hiring them well into my third trimester and not earlier. As my estimated due date came and went and my induction day approached they were supportive, helpful, and encouraging. When it was finally time to start the juicy part of the birth process Austin arrived and immediately dropped her bags and got to work. Her presence was calming, reassuring, and nurturing. She knew how to support me physically and sensed my needs before I even knew what they were. There is no way I would have achieved my birth goals without Austin and feel so lucky she was apart of my story. As a bonus her photos (which I never realized she was taking) are a special touch for us to cherish. If you're on the fence about a doula or hiring Austin, just do it...it'll be worth it more than you can imagine!
