As a first-time mom, I wanted to have a steady, supportive presence to help my husband and I navigate through it all, and we certainly found that with Caellyn. A friend referred her to us, and from our first meeting, we felt comfortable and right at home. It was like we’d known Caellyn for years. She was knowledgeable, patient with our questions, and flexible – we always felt like she was encouraging us to make our own choices and would support us, whatever those ended up being.
Before the birth, Caellyn came to our home and practiced exercises, stretches, and routines to help prepare. These were invaluable during the labor itself, when she was right there with me throughout. The nurses even complimented me on my flexibility, thanks to those stretches! We had some complications in labor (necessitating an assisted delivery), which was stressful and forced us to make big decisions quickly. Caellyn was a welcome neutral partner to bounce ideas off of and think things through with; we feel much more confident in the decisions we made with her help. After the birth, Caellyn came by a few times to help with nursing, and then again when our son was a few months old, just to check in and see how we were all doing.
Looking back, it’s hard to imagine what giving birth would have been like without Caellyn. She made everything about this beautiful, exhausting, unfathomable experience a little bit easier to handle. We can’t recommend her highly enough!
