Testimonial for Heidi Biddle
I'm not sure that I can put into words the impact that Heidi had on our birthing journey as our doula. I'm also not sure that I can refer to her as just a doula, as she was much more to my husband and I throughout the entire process. Heidi was a mentor, an educator, a support system beyond just the birthing process, a friend, and a resource (for every need from the prenatals to nursing and everything in between). With both my family and my husbands family living in Chicago, Heidi became family to us. We had interviewed a number of doula's and had given ourselves, and those we interviewed, a two week dead line on when we would make our decision. After meeting with Heidi my husband and I got in our car and we both said, "Should we call her tonight or in the morning to tell her we're choosing her!" We knew as soon as we met her.
Heidi was there for us every step of the way. She was so supportive of all of our choices and in the toughest parts of the labor was so encouraging. I'm not sure if Heidi would agree with me but I truly believe that had she not been there with us, I would have ended up needing to have a c-section. My labor had gone on for what felt like forever and I was completely exhausted, I just didn't think I was going to be able to do it on my own. And with Heidi's better judgement and encouragement to trust my instincts, we got through everything naturally...exactly how we had planned. There is no way we would have been able to get through everything the way that we did without her. Heidi has been such a blessing to our family and I know in my heart that it was her that made our first birth the beautiful and amazing experience that it was. I don't think that I could ever thank her enough. This is truly what Heidi Biddle was meant to do and I would recommend her to anyone 1000 times over.
