It has taken me so long to sit down and write this review because I have not been able to put into words how instrumental Mia was in helping us bring our baby girl into this world. When I began searching for a doula, I had a really hard time finding someone who would support my husband and I in a way that we truly benefited from. When we met Mia, we knew that she was the right person for us. She was immediately available for us, helped ease my anxiety each step of the way, and provided my husband with a different kind of support than I needed. She met with us in-person multiple times before labor began and went over everything with us so we knew exactly what to expect in the coming weeks. Mia was excellent at holding space for us and listened intentionally. When labor began, I was in heavy denial and Mia knew exactly where I was at and what I was going through before I was able to vocalize it. She came over late at night just "to check on me" and ended up staying through to the next day until our baby was born. She helped guide me through labor, offer pain relief tools, reminded me of my coping tools, affirmations, and reassured by husband that everything that was happening was normal. After our baby was born she provided lactation support and has visited multiple times to ensure we are adjusting well and to help answer any of our questions and provide ongoing support. I will absolutely be working with Mia for any future births and strongly recommend her to anyone thinking of hiring her! She will support you endlessly and help you get the birth you desire.
