I had a great pleasure having Crhistiane as my doula.
I honestly think that I could not have done it without her and have a chance for a natural delivery.
Having gone through birth without a doula with my first kid and now having a doula assisted birth at the hospital, I clearly understand why one should hire a doula.
What a difference does it make and emotional support is tremendous. Not to mention all the manual therapeutic work that Christiane had to do as my epidural only worked on one side.
Especially with hospitals being understaffed and short on medical workers, you need to have a knowledgeable person with you who can relate, understand and relieve your pain in a non-medicated way. Christiane was there with me every step of the way, being my advocate and sticking to my birth plan, navigating me using breathing technique, helping me through labor to ensure it is tolerable.
I am forever grateful to Christiane for assisting me with this birth and guiding me through labor. She made it manageable and doable when I struggled so much with pain.
