It’s hard to sum up what a gift Meema is. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was diagnosed with a rare condition that required me to be hospitalized at 32 weeks and deliver via c section at 35 weeks. When I shared the news with Meema, she immediately called me to talk through how I was feeling and put together a plan for how to approach my new reality. Her guidance made all the difference in navigating what could have been devastating news and she made me feel equipped to tackle whatever came my way. Luckily, my baby was healthy when I delivered and we went home without a NICU stay. Once I got home, Meema was there the next day talking me through everything from breastfeeding my baby, to paced bottle feeding for other caregivers, to nutrition for myself, to managing my dog adjusting to a new child in the family! Meema is not only incredibly knowledgeable, she is also nonjudgmental, helpful, and understanding. I am someone who struggles to ask for help and she was constantly offering up ideas for what she could do around the apartment to make my life easier and lending a sympathetic ear when I needed to vent about the struggles of becoming a mom. I can’t recommend her enough and am so grateful she was part of our journey.
